I'm transferring my files to an HP laptop to a Dell because the crushed HP desktop computer. I installed Firefox 8 in the Dell computer (I got the Firefox 5 - I believe - in the HP). I'm looking for the old bookmarks file in the old computer, but I can't find them. Where are they? I'll appreciate your help because I had a very good collection of bookmarks. Unfortunately I didn't save them from time to time.
Well, you were able to recover your files. I don't know where you have saved your files, but you can use the search function and search your favorites using this search term "bookmark *.» *«. It should be very probably a JSON extension file.
Once you find the file, use this link to help restore backups.
I hope this helps.

In Firefox 8.0.1, where is the import feature to import bookmarks from another browser or a return to the top of the bookmarks on a dvd. In addition, there doesn't seem to be a bookmark manager to organize or edit bookmarks.
operating system is windows xp home edition 2002 service pack 3
"Bookmarks > organize bookmarks ' has been renamed to"show all bookmarks"in Firefox 4 and later versions.
You can find the entry menu import into the Manager of bookmarks (library)
- Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > import data from another browser

You want to move the Firefox bookmarks on computer #1 for Firefox on computer #2?
You have two options: backup/restore and Import/Export. The difference is that a 'restoration' replaces completely any what appears on the destination system. An 'import' adds to everything that is on the destination system, and then you must rearrange bookmarks in the appropriate places.
Here is the support with the steps of how articles make to create a backup or export the file, and then how to restore or import:
- Restore backup bookmarks or move them to another computer
- Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks
- Importing bookmarks from an HTML file
Make sense?

I can't find the bookmark to hold in the new Firefox 4.0. How can I get this feature
The new feature of bookmarks under FireFox4.0 is not the same as Firefox 3.6. I can't copy or export my bookmarks to a flash drive to put it on another computer. Should what steps I follow to export my bookmarks to a Firefox 4.0 uner flash drive?
It's called "Show all bookmarks" now. You can always start with the combination of CTRL + SHIFT + B keys, however.
It is better to export bookmarks to a folder on your hard drive and then move (or copy) it from there on a USB key.

Find Firefox bookmarks on the old hard drive to transfer HD again?
I had to replace my motherboard and install a new operating system on a new hard drive. Windows 7.
The former hard drive windows 7 OEM and wouldn't start with the new MB.
I need to retrieve the bookmarks from the old HD which is connected to the new MB.
I can access the folders. I just can't find the bookmarks.
I need them to be complete, because I used advice in bookmarks so you can connect to some sites that I don't remember.
Help please!

Can not find the folder in which a bookmark is in
Before coming here, I read the instructions on the help page, http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How%20to%20find%20which%20folder%20a..., under the subheading to find the bookmark folder , but there is a problem. When I do as explained and click on the star on the address field, the folder of bookmarks displayed is always Unsorted Bookmarks.
I have a lot of favorites in many folders and subfolders, and I don't always know their location, so this tip is very useful for me. I placed the Firefox profile on anther, not the same with the OS disk to avoid losing any operating system failure, but I do not think that it will cause a problem because otherwise Firefox works as expected.
Is this a problem? How can I fix it please?

I know how to take Windows 7 bookmarks (firefox) and put them in another windows machine. I know that for import into Ubuntu, I open firefox on Ubuntu (already pre-installed). I can't find any list of bookmarks in the list Ubuntu firefox I can access, so I can't import them using 'import' (where everyone says glibbly) to get them. How can I access bookmarks in firefox preinstalled.
Hello
You need transfer file backup of bookmarks from your Windows PC to your PC Ubuntu - perhaps by emailing yourself or copy it to a USB key. Once you have done this, here's how to copy (import) in Firefox on Ubuntu:
- Click the Bookmarks button
then select show all bookmarks.
- At the top of the library window, click on import and backup , and then select restore.
- Click Choose file
- In the new window that appears, find the bookmarks file, select it and click Open
- Bookmark Windows should now be imported.
For more information, see the article restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer .
This solve your problems? Please report to us!
Thank you.
- Click the Bookmarks button

I would enter various notes in the Bookmark Properties window, I had for years. I'd go to Favorites, find the bookmark, click right properties. the s of the Properties window appears, with the name, url, Tag and a Description window. Now when I right click Bookmark, without properties window appears.
I am able to access the Properties window through the bookmarks bar, but not with the bookmark drop down.Hello, you can try to reproduce this behavior when you start firefox in safe mode, once? If not, perhaps an addon intrudes here...
