finished loading at startup in Vista?

I just want to know if there is an easy way to know that vista is finished loading everthing and I can start using all the apps? a nice pop-up saying "vista is done, you can anything you want now.

Hello

You could load TaskManager on startup - either in normal/regular or reduced mode.

Make a shortcut to start the task in minimized Mode Manager
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/make-a-shortcut-to-start-Task-Manager-in-minimized-mode/

I hope this helps.

    Hello

19 code means there is a driver conflict such as two devices attempt to use the same resources.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack.

  • Stop programs from running automatically at startup in Vista

    Hello

I need to stop a bunch of programs to run automatically when my computer starts. I have about four programs that I need not run unless I open them myself. Their icons are listed in my lower right. A technician told me to stop running and it would be useful to my computer work better. I don't see this option in the Manager of tasks under Vista. Is this another place where I can manage which starts and runs and this isn't?

    Thanks much for any help!

    ~ April

Individual programs have preferences that you can access and prevents them from running on startup?  If you right-click on the icons in the Notification area are there similar options available?

Otherwise you can disable them to load at startup via the tool MsConfig and his ' tab Statup.

    Hi HiteshAstan,

one) don't you recall making any changes to the computer before this happened?

    (b) what exactly happens when you sign in to your account?  You get a specific error message?

Step 1: Let us check if the problem persists in safe mode

Access the menu advanced startup options by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. In the advanced startup options select safe mode

If the problem persists, you can deduct that the user account is corrupted

  • Is it possible to limit which loads at startup?

Is it possible to limit which loads at startup to speed up this operation?

This can be done with msconfig.exe or AutoRuns.

If your shoe is slowly, follow these steps:

Make sure you have the services Superfetch and ReadyBoost are running and then try to speed up the boot with the help of my guide [1]. This causes the prefetcher in Windows Vista. This increase startup performance a lot. All other tweaking tools are useless. Use this method only with this Toolkit from Microsoft.

If it is not to speed up the startup process, follow my guide [2] to start track and compress the boot_BASE + CSWITCH + DRIVERS + POWER_1.etl 7z and RAR and transfer it to your Skydrive [3] and post the link here.

I take a look at the trace, maybe I see what's wrong with your Windows.

  • Windows services won't load at startup

I had a load of automatic update and now I have multiple errors at startup.

The main error I get at startup is:

C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\desktop is refers to a location that is unavailable.  It could bo on a hard drive on this computer or on a network.  Make sure that the disk is properly inserted, or that you are connected to the internet or your network and try again.  If it is not found, it could have been moved to a different location.

There is nothing on my desktop but the trash.

I tried the system restore and received this message: C:\windows\system32\rstrui.exe.  Long-term services or group was able to start.

I can start safe mode and everything starts with limited capacity.  When I start, I can't access any change, even with my user designated as 'administrator '.  Nothing based on loads windows, and I can't do windows update.  When I try to use these programs, I get a message about a file missing named ATL DLL and asking me to reinstall.  I don't know what it is and hesitate to install something that I don't know.

This all started after the update loaded 08/13/10.  I ran several anti-virus (avast, trendmicro) programs and have no virus found.

I tried to do a repair on startup and it does not work.

I'm afraid I'll have to wipe my hard drive and start from scratch, but I hope I don't have to do something drastic that.  Any suggestion would be appreciated!

  • A drive mapped on P to P does not load at startup upward.

My question is similar, but may have a different answer.  I have a peer-to-peer network and my computer plays the main role.  In the morning he gets turned on first so that other computers can charge the player.  Some of my programs require that the mapped drive is the same on all computers like me.  The problem is that when I turn on my computer, it does not read the drive mapped on himself and he listed as disconnected.  I then manually go and plug.  Again, it is annoying more then anything.  Any suggestions?

    Hi Loreman,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

From the descriptions of the question, it seems that mapped drive does not load at startup to the top.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I'll help you fix the problem.

Follow the methods and mark the question below:

    Method 1:

    Disable the antivirus software:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

Drive mapped to the network connection may be lost:

Warning: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/back-up-the-registry

I hope that the information above helps you.

Your response is very important for us to ensure a proper resolution.

In the future if you fall on any question relating to Windows, please do not hesitate to post your request here on Microsoft Community, we will be more than happy to help you.
