Firefox 42.0 automatically load a tab 'option' as if a Web site is selected. How can I fix it?

Firefox 42.0 automatically load a tab 'option' as if a Web site is selected. How can I fix it? I can't find any navigation to prevent that from happening. This started when "ask.com" hijacked my browser. I can now load my selected home page, but can not get the tab 'option' to appear automatically as well as my other sites selected in the tabs above. Thank you.

Firefox uses a vertical bar ("|") in order to separate several home pages.
You can check the setting of the home page to see if the subject: preferences page is included among the home pages (| subject: preferences #general).

This can happen if you click on "use current page (s) ' to set the home page and about: preferences is open in a tab.
You can pin the tab with the subject: the preferences page through the context menu of the tab to avoid including: preferences for layout home page if you want to use this button in "Options/Preferences > general".
To set a page as the home page, you can drag the globe/lock for the home button.

  • After upgrade, Firefox 43.0.0.5820 does not appear under actual multiple monitors V5.11! How can I fix it?

After the V43.0.0.5820, Firefox works but is invisible on the screen. I do not remember what version I have updated since then, but this is done normally under actual multiple monitors as with all other software installed.

Currently it is forcing me to use Internet Explorer, which works flawlessly.

If I stop actual multiple monitors, Firefox won't stay visible well that listed in Windows Task Manager.

When I'm out of multiple monitors, Firefox works normally.

    How can I fix it?

I uninstalled V43 and re-installed V42. This seems to have solved the problem. I didn't answer on the forum of the AMM yet but it's still the early days. I'll post a response that I get to help a resolution.

  • Installed Firefox 3.6.11, but Firefox still says "apply downloaded update now... "in the Help menu. How can I fix it?

When Firefox 3.6.11 came out I wanted to update. I clicked "apply downloaded update now... "and then just rebooted without updating. I went to the download page, download the program installation and upgrade in this way. It worked, but now it still says "apply downloaded update now...» "in the Help menu.
Why it does this and how can I fix this without losing my bookmarks and settings?

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update (Software Update doesn't work does not correctly)

Delete the files in the folder updates\0 and updates:

    Vista/Windows7:

    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
    (%LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates)

    • Download a new copy of Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    • Remove the Firefox program folder before installing this copy of the Firefox installer.
    • It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.

Your bookmarks and other profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a (rei) installation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you decide to uninstall Firefox.

  • How to reboot can I configure Firefox to re - automatically load the tabs I had open when I stopped?

Every morning when I do a soft start to clear the cobwebs out of my brain of the PC I have my boot settings automatically load 6 apps. Firefox is a. Then I go on a toolbar start tab and click Open all tabs and it loads 4 tabs for me.

I am trying to automate the loading of the tabs

I use Firefox 4.0. The previous version was a function that was asked, when you closed Firefox, if you wanted the tabs you have open at that time to arrange the next time you open Firefox.

It's kind of way to jack-leg to get the tabs open on the re-start, although it was still irritation...

This issue does not seem has happened in 4.0.

Is there a setting to always call the question?

Better yet, is there a setting to always have the tabs / a group of tabs always open at startup?

Example-in my case I load Vonage Sharefile, then 2 home page tabs.

This allows me to keep my poor brain organized during the day because I'm multitasking in Firefox and other applications, and telephone and other.

    I thank in advance.

One of the changes in Firefox 4: by default Firefox 4 does not display the warning "Save tabs and exit" then to the closure of several tabs, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.

    • Record of the tabs was not removed from Firefox 4, but it works a little differently.

      • By default, Firefox 4 will not ask to save tabs, but instead it will always save your tabs in the output. You can restore the next time by selecting "Restore previous Session" in the history menu, or by pressing the button restore Firefox's default homepage.

Also, make sure that you do not erase "Browsing history" when you use clear recent history:

To display the message "save tabs and exit" when closing multiple tabs, you can do the following:

    1. Type of topic: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
    2. Accept the warning message (promise to be careful)
    3. Open the preferences/list page
    4. Filter = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
    5. If its value is set to false, double-click top (in the lower panel) to toggle its value to true
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the 3 following preferences also:
      • browser.warnOnQuit
      • browser.warnOnRestart
      • browser.showQuitWarning

  • Profile of user not loaded correctly, you have been connected with a temporary profile. How can I fix it?

I use a Toshiba Satellite with windows vista. My father gave it to me, but instead of creating a new user account, I have renamed the original administrator account. two years later, I have 3 accounts on the laptop, which only the original is still the sole Director and has access to all partitions on the hard drive as well.

A week ago, my computer laptop power had reported issues so I immediately sent for repair. I came home today and the Standard 2 user accounts work perfectly. However when I connect to my original administrator account I get this pop - up message:

"The user profile was not loaded correctly. You have been logged on with a temporary profile. Changes to this profile will be lost when you log out. Check the log of the events for more information or contact your administrator "

I lost all my profile settings, including internet bookmarks, music playlists, etc. The office looks like a brand new installation of Vista and all the customization disappeared. I can't afford to lose all data. It is seriously important and was on my desk and in my documents.

How can I get my profile without losing any data?

    Hi Salman91,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Windows Vista Community.   New profile created, try browsing to the old profile (C:\users\username).  You should see all the old user data.  If this does not work, try to copy the files in Safe Mode.

Please let us know if that helps.

  • Usually, Firefox closes when closing the last tab on it. Now he doesn't. How can I change to the closure when the last tab is closed?

I checked my comments: settings beforehand because I hear the setting because it is usually there. It is always the same and has not changed. As far as I know, I have not downloaded Add-ons recently causing this change. None has been installed recently. Here is a screenshot of the subject: config.

    Have you tried Mode safe?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

My computer is a Dell Inspiron 620 running Windows 7 Professional. 64 bit. I have ZoneAlarm Security Suite, what makes every day analysis antivirus and Webroot SpySweeper, who makes a daily analysis of spyware. Found no virus or spyware threat (fair cookies I could remove myself). I continue to turn various deep analyses, including Malwarebytes, TDSS Killer and BitDefender Removal Tool TDL4 TDSS, and no malware appears. I deleted cookies, cache, etc and restarted.

I made a new shortcut on the desktop, which has contributed to a couple of times open Firefox, and then the problem came back.

I downloaded and ran Revo Uninstaller in setting advanced, then reinstalled Firefox. Has contributed a few times, then the problem came back.

I checked the help link on Firefox. None of the programs are defined to use Firefox. I deleted mimeTypes.rdf according to the instructions, then restarted Firefox. Same problem remains.

I completely deleted the history, but after one or two times open Firefox, the problem returns. I restarted my computer after the above.

  • I have the latest version of firefox and I tried to follow the instructions for cookies, only statements seems obsolete. How can I fix it?

I have to adjust my cookies and I found the instructions on your site. When I followed the instructions, I found that it seems to an older version and not the new. The privacy settings are not the same because they were once and I can't make changes to cookies may except to remove them.

What I could do, it was to go to the "Firefox" tab in the upper left corner, go to history, clear recent history and so on. I can't make changes to a single cookie. It's all or nothing.

Are there any other ways for me to make the adjustments?

I had and tried to suggest what you say, and it has only caused more problems.

  • When I open some page of wikipedia in firefox, formula are in latex format, and there is no image of the formula. How can I fix?

For example, I see something like this:

    M ^ \text {T} \Omega M = \Omega\,.

and I do not see the image of the formula format. This problem will occur many pages of Wikipedia when I use Firefox to open.

Is he missing images then check that you do not block the images of certain areas.
You can press the ALT key, or press F10 to display the Menu bar
Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "tools > Page Info > Permissions.

Search for "tools > Page Info > media ' blocked images

    • Select the first link of the image, and then use the cursor key to scroll the list.
    • If an image in the list is grayed out and 'block Images of..."is checked then uncheck this box to unlock pictures of this area.

Make sure that you do not block the (third) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the topic: config page should be 1.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox, Tools/menu key > Modules > Extensions) and anti-virus software that can block the images and other content.

For some reason, all of a sudden Firefox won't let me enter in Japanese. (I use version 25.0.1.) Why did happen and what can I do about it?

I think that this problem is related to a problem that I am raising here:

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/978034

If so, it's to do with the limitation of your default device input in Firefox 25.0.1 sources. You are using OSX and you have keyboard several layouts in your toolbar language drop down?

  • I don't want Firefox to the files I saved in Web sites "remember" front How can I return Firefox to its old image saving habits?

I recently got a new computer and upgraded to Firefox 8. Now, when I save an image from a website, Firefox will 'remember' and, next time I save an image, open a case at random that I saved an image in the last time I was on this site, then choose Save there. This would not be a problem if, 1) was not a folder randomly on the many I save in and (2) if I have to cancel on a picture for some reason, the next time I will save (seconds later, without leave/refresh a page), it chooses one at random to save me in and I put my files.

I would like to get Firefox back to the previous image, saving habits, where I have to choose the folder every time, and he won't 'remember' everything that I did, as it is originally only headaches.

The current versions of Firefox don't forget not the directory download, based on the URL, so if the URL changes then the default folder can be selected if he has not selected a folder for this server before download.
