Firefox adds https to each Web site

Any website, I try to go to, Firefox adds https to the front and then indicates a problem with the security certificate and will not let me see the site. Thus, for example, I type this EXACT address in the address bar:

www.Google.com

and Firefox go to:

https://www.Google.com

I deleted the file cert8.db and this has not fixed the problem. Then I tried internet Explorer and it does the same thing. It is a windows 8.

Help!

In my experience, the problem is not https, but the clock on your computer.
Check if your computer has a good time and the date (month and year, very important).
Because the security certificate has a time limit and will not work if your computer thinks it has 6 months or 6 months later.

  • Each Web site returns "your connection is not safe."

I am on a mac under OS 10.10.3 and just installed Firefox 47.0.1. However, I am unable to connect to any Web site, but receive

    "Your connection is not secure.

The owner of www.google.com has misconfigured their Web site. To protect your data against theft, Firefox has not connected to this Web site.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HST) to specify that Firefox didn't connect safely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate. »

It's the same message that I receive for each Web site, including Mozilla. I've been unable to find a workaround, and so far this has made just useless browser. It is only to proceed with Firefox, Chrome and Safari are working perfectly.

When you get this for virtually all secure sites, the problem is usually as follows:

    (1) error of date, time, or time zone who throw checks validity of the certificates of your system. Sometimes allowing to use a timesource on the internet, the computers can introduce this problem.

    (2) not be set up to work with your security software that intercepts and filter secure connections from Firefox. Products with this feature include Avast, BitDefender, Bullguard, ESET and Kaspersky. AVG LinkScanner / SurfShield can cause this error on search sites.

If you have one of these specific security products: Check this technical support article: How do I resolve the error 'SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER' on the protected pages code.

    (3) 10 Windows, Firefox does not put in place to work with Microsoft's parental parental control software. (To test by turning it off, see: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../turn-off-microsoft-family-settings)

    (4) malicious software on your system for the interception of secure connections.

If none of those ring a Bell:

You can inspect a specimen of the certificate to see if that points to the culprit. If you want to try it now, here is how I suggest to start:

Load my test page at: https://jeffersonscher.com/res/jstest.php

You will probably get an error page. Expand the "Advanced" button, and then look for a button Add Exception.

Note: You don't need to complete the process of adding an exception - I suggest not adding one until we know that it is not a malware issue - but you can use the dialog box to display the information that makes Firefox suspicious.

Click Add exceptions and exception certificate dialog box should open.

Click on the button display. If the view is not enabled, try first the button get certificate.

This should display the certificate. Look at the section "issued by" and the Details, the hierarchy of certificates tab. What do you see here? I have attached a screenshot for comparison of screen.

I've upgraded to the latest Firefox, but something prevents reading Web sites that I've updated. I already tried to uninstall and reinstall.

At first, I thought it was a specific Web site, but I found that it is affecting my sites on a set path. Yet once, I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox. It doesn't seem to affect one of my other internet browsers.

It would not be a problem, but most of the sites are demanding I upgraded and even disabling certain features until I do.

  • Firefox addon to remember where the files have been saved for each web site, but I don't remember what it was.

Firefox (on laptop that died) used to remember where to save the files in a given Web site (probably an addon I downloaded), but I did not now add what he was. Did anyone else enjoy this feature? What addon adds this feature?

    See, e.g., download sort:

I updated firefox yesterday and now every single site I'll said its a "untrusted connection". This includes things like google, yahoo mail and facebook. I still don't understand how to add an exception either. Nothing has changed. I had to uninstall firefox as its unusable.

You will need to check the certificate to see if you can find the cause.
Adding a permanent exception is never recommended and shouldn't be necessary.

What it says under the technical details?

Open the chrome URI by pasting or typing this URI in the address bar to open the window "Add the Security Exception" and to check the certificate:

    • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.XUL

In the field location type and paste the URL of the Web site

    • retrieve the certificate via the button 'Get certificate '.
    • inspect the certificate via the "view..." button. »

You can attach a screenshot of the technical details and the certificate with the Certificate Manager?

    • Use a type of compressed as PNG or JPG image to save the screenshot
    • Make sure you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

    • Create a cookie exception permit to keep such cookies, especially for sites Web secure and if the cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
    • Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: Exceptions

    Hello

I am using Windows 7 32 bit on a Dell laptop.

Everything was going well until I've upgraded to Firefox 13 a few days ago. I can't not to connect to Web sites secured like Gmail, Amazon, etc.

I use ESET Smart Security 6.0 beta and he hasn't behaved badly with any application.

I tried the basic solutions as compensation network, the browser history cache, etc. I also reinstalled 13 (own) of Firefox.

There is no modules or extensions installed in Firefox. The Proxy is set to 'No Proxy'.

Each click in gmail throws an "Untrusted" error, even if I get certificates and store them permanently.

I also tried tweaking all: variable config like below, but did not work.

    Browser.XUL.error_pages.expert_bad_cert = true

Please help because it is extremely difficult to work with these problems.

    Thank you
