However, if this is a one-time change prefs it would be possible to directly edit the prefs.js file (while Firefox is closed) to get everything back to how it was before.   I've been running Firefox v. 18.0.2 and for a few days the application continually crashes whenever I open it. I am currently not able to enter in safe mode and it happens to all profiles on the computer. I went through and updated all my Add-ons, but the problem persists. I decided to re - install the application by deleting all the configurations that have been previously configured. I also tried to delete the entire folder to % APPDATA%\Mozilla. Up to this point, I am unable to get Firefox running.

  Everything worked Friday (when I finally used Firefox) but this morning when I turned on my computer, Firefox will not work. I tried clicking on the toolbar button and the link in the start menu, nor work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, does not help.   What graphics card to display that you have?

  Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.
