Firefox forcing me to double click on everything.

I am running FirefoxDeveloperEdition on a Lenovo Yoga Pro 3, and it's forcing me to double click on everything. It's not too difficult to do, even if it's a gene, in desktop mode, but when I go to Tablet mode, it is incredibly difficult, as I have on the screen to click on anything whether it is spam.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

  • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
  • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

  • Firefox crashes when double clicking on a particular bookmark toolbar button.

Every now and then I accidentally double click on one of my bookmarks toolbar buttons. It would hang Firefox (v 37.0.2) and required a force entirely to escape (OS X 10.10.3).) This happens quite often it became boring.

I eliminated this crash when I discovered I had a bookmark for "all bookmarks" entry in the bookmark button, I was clicking. It would seem that this probably caused an infinite loop? I removed the "all bookmarks" entry and Firefox no longer crashes.

It's kind of a nit-picking bug, but I thought I would realize it just in case someone else is as frustrated as I was.

The problem is that when you had a copy of "All bookmarks" in a folder "All bookmarks" you can create a loop forever in some of the editing operations, crash Firefox bookmark.

Because it crashes when you do this, the obvious solution is to not do this.

So, my intention was to point out that such an operation can cause a problem but I was not looking for a solution, because I simply won't. Given that I was not really a question, I think that it maybe wasn't the right place to make such a report.

In any case, now that I know what was causing my plant, I now turn to this problem is resolved.

  • How can I disable the double click to a new tab in Firefox?

I just installed the latest version of Firefox, and now I'm faced with a new problem. When I try to open a new tab I click twice on the top bar, and it's annoying me. I used to open a new tab by clicking on an icon next to any tab and now this icon is moved to the top right corner, and it seems there is no way to open a new tab except by double clicking on the top!

  • After I close a session, I double click on icon but Firefox is not running, I have to re - install daily or more

After a session with Firefox, I close out that later if I want to start a new session, Firefox does not open. I have to re - install the download. This happens several times a day.

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

  • Copy of Firefox always function adds an extra space before or after double clicking to select text

I have just started using Firefox, but I noticed a strange "characteristic" (I don't know if this is a feature or a bug, so the quotes). I'm used to the opera, and that is where by when I double click on some text, the text will be automatically selected. Firefox does something like this, but for some reason any I don't yet understand that it adds extra space at the beginning or at the end of the selection. It is a problem for someone like me who, for work, did a lot of copy / paste. I use web software that doesn't tolerate extra spaces and this feature/bug will end up causing some problems.
Is it possible to change this behavior so that it behaves more like all my other computer programs? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Well, unfortunately, the solution did not work. I guess it's back to the opera, as seems to be the only browser that has the features I need. Too bad.

  • Why double click works not for Firefox in Windows 7 (Firefox 15.0.1) type files?

If I'm in the Windows 7 Windows Explorer double-click the name of a file that is mentioned as being a Firefox file by its file type symbol, it should be launched. But this does not happen. "If I select 'Open with' > Firefox" in the file context menu, nothing happens. But if I select another browser, the file will be launched.

Make sure that Firefox is always the default browser.

    Hi Jlhillhouse,

It is difficult to solve the problems of the computer without knowing all the details. You should look at the link I sent you and especially to Firefox is slow - how to make it faster. I don't know any known issue as you describe, it's probably a very good bet for a response.

  • Double click on a page causes Firefox to go back a page instead of highlight at the insertion point

I have a Logitech iFeel MouseMan. The side button is set to double-click. Sometimes instead of highlight to the cursor position the tab jumps back a page. (In other words, it is as if I had clicked the button left of the return address bar.) This abnormal behavior doesn't happen if I physically double click with the left button of the mouse. This anomaly came a year ago and a Google search has a Firefox configuration setting that solved the problem. Now I do not think the setting and a Google search provides no answers. I solved the problem by resetting my computer to a previous point of reset, but it is an inelegant solution - and it takes hours. (The problem does not occur now. I ask for the future). I prefer to do the problem by changing the appropriate setting of Firefox to go. Logitech told me that the problem is not with the mouse, or its software, but with Firefox and that I should ask experts of Firefox.

I don't know what setting that is actually, but here's how you can understand.

    1. Enter about: config in the address bar, press enter
    2. Accept the warning
    3. Type of mouse in the list filter field
    4. Settings no standard are "BOLD", now you should be able to see which setting you have changed
  • Firefox does not account for single click and has double click for a feature need simple click as a bookmark link, enter in a text box, press a button

    Firefox 7.0.1 on Win7 pro 64

    Hello team FF & community.

sometimes FF 6/7 shows a VERY strange behavior:
While 'normal' things on Web sites (click on the links, edit text, scrolling, evolution of the tabs boxes) FF starts to ignore my simple clicks. The only way to work is with double-click instead of single-click (i.e. for links, enter a SBO, switch tabs, even to open a menu of Firefox) for all actions.

Previously, the last example was about a minute

     https://plus.google.com/circles/find

While moving to a "circle" contact - FF changes only are allowed double clicks. No errors, no message.

I found this behavior buggy on many different sites - simple websites and with complex features, too - in the past few weeks since bf6 + 7 are current versions.

With my other two questions, I get the idea that the current releases of FF contain more bugs in versions between FF1 to FF3.

OK, I think that this issue (change of behavior: needs double click to get the reaction of simple click)-isRESOLVED: -

I have disabled all addons and enabled/tested one by one... it was, apparently, the add-on "Multi links 3.0.0.16" was the problem.

I replaced it with "Snap Links 2.1.1" (installed, but not yet tried a new), and less than a week daily work of 10-12 I never got this bug again.

    SOLVED!

I guess that somewhere in the suggestions very thorough of the cor - el it says try-

Right-click on the icon > on the left, click Open.

Also have you tried an icon in the Start Menu or tried to open it through your list of programs?

Then, you try to start safe mode. Hold down the SHIFT key while you double-click.
