  If you have only one installation enabled then you can avoid probably disable the one you currently have.  You will receive a message about exceeding the activations if this has been a problem.

  If the school has provided this software as a special offer you can check with them.  In some cases, special offers are limited and the license does not last forever.  If you paid the price full student then this is not the case.

  Because it seems that you have not tried this chat option which should give a go - see below.  Be patient and try to stay quiet/friendly and they might be receptive to helping instead to lift you back on the forum.  They have the ability to help, but sometimes they choose to not.

  Windows Update will not stop wonder installing KB957789 update for Office (PowerPoint). I've installed it several times but nothing can convince that it is already installed. I get the windows update icon see reappear and asks me to install.

  I have family vista premium SP1 and all updates including those for the office (including sp2 office).

  My copy of Microsoft office is not activated (I don't own office, although it came with my computer without a license, which is annoying. I would like to uninstall it, but sometimes I get sent a pptx or some files that openoffice can't read so I save it in another format with ms office, and I can still run another 23 times.) I don't know if it's part of the problem?
