Firefox is slow at all times

Firefox is extremely slow for the last two weeks. I can't even open my bank site. I can't scroll or type without painful delays. I continue to see wheel of color and then after a few seconds, it seems that all that is happening is finished and things return to normal for a few seconds more and then I get the same thing. Everything goes well on Safari.

Do you use Add-ons? If so, I suggest disabling and see if that fixes the problem. You can then re-enable individually in order to find out who caused the problem.

If this does not help, it is often useful to recreate your profile (check the knowledge base for more information about how to do this).

  • Firefox starts slow, but works well in safe mode with all the running addons - why?

Then... all of a sudden my Firefox (v. 38.0.1) is really laggy, with slow-to-respond buttons, scrolling etc. So I manually disable all addons, but nothing helped. Then I try safe mode and it works very well. Large. So I turn on my addons again one by one, until they are all allowed and it still works fine. My conclusion: it isn't the addons. What is what is the cause? I have updated all my addons and just Silverlight, Flash, Google updater, Shockwave and some others.
One solution would be for this mode - Safe with addons running - being my default start mode, but I can't work out how to do it. Is no huge problem because I can make Firefox work perfectly, but it's a little bit of your time.
    Any ideas?

  • My firefox restarts my PC all the time.

    Hello guys

My firefox restarts my PC all the time. It just hangs everything on the computer and restarts without stopping. What to do?

I formatted my computer and I can't use firefox. It restarts my computer all the time, lock screens, freezes and shuts down the entire system.
How can I remove it and stop the problems I can work normally.
Can someone tell me what to do? Why is this happening?

    Concerning
    Suzana

Windows restarts itself could indicate a device driver incompatibility, usually associated with your graphics card.

Instead to start Firefox normally, hold the SHIFT key to get the Security Mode/Reset dialog box and start safe mode. Then switch your acceleration hardware definition here:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

Safe mode automatically disables hardware acceleration, but this modification should enter into force when you quit Firefox and then start it again normally.

    Any improvement?

  • Firefox very slow while Chrome is fast

    Hi all

Spin LMDE 2, totally updated and using Firefox 50.0.2 Firefox is really very slow for some time now - it is so slow to start, slow to scroll a page even with one tab open and takes a minute to type a full word. I tried to start Firefox in safe mode, completely deleting my user profile and start fresh, use "apt - get remove - purge" and then reinstalling firefox... and still stupidly slow. Chrome is fast, quick start, can run 20 + tabs without a slowdown in performance, no problem at all.

And my laptop is not in rest - it is 3 years old, has a processor i7, 8 GB of RAM and a Quadro video card. I have also run 2 LMDE and all apps from a 256 GB SSD card. The directory is on a 500 GB SATA hard drive, however. So I expect you to improve the performance of Firefox, so there must be something wrong - I would really appreciate if someone could give me some guidance as to what could be the problem please?

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you delete your Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. This process does not delete your Firefox profile (such as bookmarks and passwords) data, since this information is stored in a different location.

To do a clean reinstall of Firefox, follow these steps: Note: you can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from mozilla.org office (or choose the download for your operating system and language on this page) and save the file to install it on your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (or open the Firefox menu and click on the button close ).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Do not use an uninstaller to third parties as part of this process. This could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Please report to say if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • Firefox is slow

I was running firefox 37.0.2 with kaspersky antivirus 2013 and zonealarm pro and had no problems. After that I updated to kaspersky antivirus 2015. I tried to start firefox and it took a long time to load up. When I try to search something on google, it takes a long time to load a page. So I tried to refresh and it didn't work so I tried to upgrade to the latest version of 38.0.1, also did not work. So ive installed kaspersky anti-virus 2013 again and again, firefox is slow. Ive tried refresh characteristic, clean the cache, clear the acceleration hardware and even went to firefox 34. None of them worked.
When I run firefox with Pei firefox.exe and select a profile, firefox works fine, but when I launch it from bar tasks, it is very slow to start to the top and loading pages. And when I try to delete a profile, it ask me to delete the files. If I try to do, it freezes as well. So I can only manually delete new profiles.

Thanks for the help. I removed kaspersky antivirus and zonealarm firewall pro and installed kaspersky internet security and it works well. I think the last patch of kaspersky antivirus 2013 (patch L) is causing a conflict with zonealarm pro.

  • Firefox is slow--particularly unresponsive in private mode

Firefox is slow to respond. Particularly bad in private mode. Have tried all the recommended fixes. What now...

    What have you tried?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe or make changes.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

    See "create a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a profile in the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

Hello Marlin29, this is currently an issue in firefox when you close all firefox windows open first and then close the application subsequently - the bug should be addressed in a more recent version of firefox.

a workaround in the meantime, you could close firefox (via firefox > quit) while the browser window is still running or try this: enter: config in the firefox address bar (confirm the message information where it appears) & search preference named browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash. Double-click it and change its value to false.

  • I2C communication slows down over time using USB-8451

    Hi all!

I try to communicate via a device slave using a USB-8451 I2C and I noticed that after a while the communication speed slows way.

I can send and receive data very well and apparently my system seems to work. But the problem is that over time the speed of data transfer slows down so much so that if I let it run all night it has slowed to a crawl in the morning. My ultimate goal is to gather data, draw and save every second and at the beginning it is easily achievable, but after 10-15 hours I can no longer collect data as fast I need. I'm not quite sure if this is a problem with my code LabVIEW, the NI USB-8451 box or the slave device. But if I stop running the LabVIEW program and start it again, everything returns to normal.

The slave device is a personalized card with a microchip PIC which acts as a slave I2C and returns the data at the request of the master. I can't imagine anyone will be able to determine if this is a problem directly, but if we can rule out the other two (code LabVIEW or the NOR-8451) as the source of the problem so I know it's my slave device.

I've greatly simplified the LabVIEW code that I used to collect data on I2C and I see even this gradual slowing down over time. Attached, it's that the very simplified VI and the data file, it produced. I only ran it for about 45 minutes, but from the beginning to the end we see again that the enforcement timeframe is rising.

I hope I'm just doing something stupid, thanks in advance!

    -Aaron

    Aaron,

Do not have the additional module responsible for these functions, but I'm sure I know whats going on.  It seems that each time through the loop 'OR-845 x I2C Create Configuration Reference.vi' creates a new reference.  After a while it will start to slow things down.  Better to open the reference before the while loop starts and spend just the reference in the loop.  Don't forget to close the reference after the loop stops.
