Firefox is slow
I was running firefox 37.0.2 with kaspersky antivirus 2013 and zonealarm pro and had no problems. After that I updated to kaspersky antivirus 2015. I tried to start firefox and it took a long time to load up. When I try to search something on google, it takes a long time to load a page. So I tried to refresh and it didn't work so I tried to upgrade to the latest version of 38.0.1, also did not work. So ive installed kaspersky anti-virus 2013 again and again, firefox is slow. Ive tried refresh characteristic, clean the cache, clear the acceleration hardware and even went to firefox 34. None of them worked.
When I run firefox with Pei firefox.exe and select a profile, firefox works fine, but when I launch it from bar tasks, it is very slow to start to the top and loading pages. And when I try to delete a profile, it ask me to delete the files. If I try to do, it freezes as well. So I can only manually delete new profiles.
Thanks for the help. I removed kaspersky antivirus and zonealarm firewall pro and installed kaspersky internet security and it works well. I think the last patch of kaspersky antivirus 2013 (patch L) is causing a conflict with zonealarm pro.

Firefox starts slow, but works well in safe mode with all the running addons - why?
Then... all of a sudden my Firefox (v. 38.0.1) is really laggy, with slow-to-respond buttons, scrolling etc. So I manually disable all addons, but nothing helped. Then I try safe mode and it works very well. Large. So I turn on my addons again one by one, until they are all allowed and it still works fine. My conclusion: it isn't the addons. What is what is the cause? I have updated all my addons and just Silverlight, Flash, Google updater, Shockwave and some others.
One solution would be for this mode - Safe with addons running - being my default start mode, but I can't work out how to do it. Is no huge problem because I can make Firefox work perfectly, but it's a little bit of your time.
Any ideas?Hi RufusWalker, please see if Firefox is slow after upgrading to Firefox 38 covers and solves your problem.

Firefox is slow--particularly unresponsive in private mode
Firefox is slow to respond. Particularly bad in private mode. Have tried all the recommended fixes. What now...
What have you tried?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe or make changes.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
See "create a profile":

Can't access Google and firefox is slow
I'm currently under Firefox 42.0. I'm unable to access google.com and Firefox runs very slow time (for example about 20 seconds to load a page). Using internet explore I can access google.com and load web pages in seconds. When I try to access google.com , I get the following message "this connection is untrusted" without option to get around. I restarted Firefox in safe mode with disabled and also refreshed Firefox Add-ons, but I still have the issue. I don't have an antivirus application installed. After the update, I should add an exception to use yahoo.com (i.e., I understand that the risks add exception).
"c. uninstall Firefox from the Windows Control Panel go to"start "->" run"and type %appdata%\microsoft\windows\sendto then find the folder called mozilla and delete."
Step c. worked and now I can access google.com , and Firefox is no longer slow.
Yes, before I uninstall Firefox via the control panel. This time, I uninstalled via the Control Panel, removed the "mozilla" folder and restarted my computer.

everything about firefox is slow and jerky since 38.0.1 update, how to fix
Cannot play games, access e-mail, navigation & typing - that's all jerky and very slow. How can I fix it? I do not understand technical terms if you need basic instructions "click on this ' please. Can someone help me? I have windows 7 and all my updates are done automatically. I use my laptop - I don't know how it works!
The other issue you may encounter is due to hardware acceleration?
If you try the Mode without failure of Firefox, it will disable hardware acceleration and Add ons temporarily and you can see if they contribute to the issue. If it was indeed hardware acceleration will see the update below.
Just as an update, after the study of the problems of General hardware acceleration there an update out today which should solve this problem. The new version will be 38.0.5 on beta on June 2. Thank you for your patience, please report if there are additional problems.

UI of Firefox is slow by typing or selecting the text (after update 33.0)
After the 33.0 update, I noticed that typing a backspace in any area on a Web page or even in the Firefox address bar is slow to echo, on a lag of 1 second. Also, by selecting the text typed (to remove a TI, etc.) by a click-and - drag quick selects the entire, but when I click in the dialog box to deselect, the part which has not been posted as selected initially, is selected for a moment before the string whole hilite selection disappears.
What makes the browser very cumbersome to use.
This seems to be new to 33.0. I tried to reset Firefox, but it does not solve the problem. No problem in IE 11.0, so I do not think that the malware. I have also to keep all s/w and run avast/zonealarm for safety. I've never had an infection of malicious software on this machine. Win7 Home Premium 64-bit, 8 GB of RAM. The use of resources is low, so not out of process control.
I have request the latest Microsoft "Patch Tuesday" updates 15/10, the same day that I updated to Firefox. This can complicate the diagnosis. But even once, IE was not affected, then, how the different Firefox UI for basic keyboard/screen I/O?
If there is an easy way to "downgrade" to the 32.0.3 prior revision, I could try to confirm. Help, please!

Firefox running slow, even after the reset AND reinstalled
For the last several days that Firefox has worked really slow. When I open a new window it takes about 20-30 seconds to open an or if I try to load a site with flash (say for example of youtube) it takes time to load the site and you can not click anything, like back, address bar or even the X to close the window.
I have scanned for viruses and found nothing. I thought it was my computer when Firefox started to slow down, but I opened Opera and Saferi to see what it looked like and they are fine. Works very well. If I restart the computer, Firefox works fine for say 2 hours before you start to slow down slowly again over time (about 5 hours later it is uber slow!). I also reset Firefox that again gave the same result as the computer restarts, very well for a few hours before starting to slow down again. Reinstalled Firefox, but again it's very well for a few hours.
I don't know what to do. Firefox is my main browser, but I can't continue to use it like that because it takes forever to do anything.

Firefox very slow, slow and unresponsive on Windows 8.1
Basically, everything is very slow and each action takes a long time to complete - tabs, switching takes about half a second to a full second (5 seconds if there is another tab currently loading / refreshing), by clicking the Center button of the mouse takes more time, about half a second to a second for the exactly scrolling of arrows is displayed same thing with regularly by clicking on the scroll on the right, Firefox bar pretty much freezes for about a full second before reacting to the click.
I tried to run Firefox with addons disabled, which did not help, which I did not know that he don't would be not since this problem started before I even had the addons - pretty good the second, I installed Firefox.
I have Firefox running on an SSD card and a new installation of Windows 8.1. I tried the two Aurora and nightly (currently using every night), both are just as slow.I have not tried to reset, because once again, the question was already there during my first installation of Firefox.
Figured out what the problem is - it is a software of DisplayFusion I use to support multiple monitors which is causing the problem. I'll just get an alternative until (if ever) the question ceases to exist.
Thanks for the help.
