Firefox keeps telling me that I should update even if it is up-to-date.

My start page is http://www.google.co.uk/firefox?client=firefox-a & rls = org.mozilla:-org.mozilla

When I run Firefox it tells me that I need to improve Firefox. When I click on upgrade now it tells me that it is up-to-date. When I then use Firefox it tells me I need to upgrade again.

I have Firefox installed 8.0.

There is a minor update available, Firefox 8.0.1. I don't know if it's important enough to be offered by automatic updates however, installs just new.

There could be another reason - that is the old default start page. Firefox has changed its default start page in 4.0. The page that you use can be (incorrectly) assuming that if you are looking at him, you must always be on Firefox 3.6.

If you restore the default home page, you should get the new homepage instead. It is not much different from the one you use, but he expected to give more information to update.
