Firefox makes system run slow
Hello. I've been running firefox since it first came out. I remember it makes internet Explorer like browsing on DIALUP no joke. Anyway, with the latest firefox it works very slowly on my laptop. My laptop is older. It's a HP 6735 s.
I tried another browser - Opera. Opera works perfectly well on this laptop, but does not display any corrects(forms, buttons). I noticed that opera uses much more memory than firefox.
Is that what I can do to speed up firefox or to use more memory? Currently, if I try to start firefox in safe mode, it uses the CPU usage at least 80% and does the same thing without safe mode. I would really like to continue to use firefox, because it does not appear the best browser. My laptop is too old to run firefox? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!
You wrote 'I don't know' next to 'Plugins', so the first thing to do is to check to see if one of these is obsolete. To do this, go to the Plugins check page and update if necessary. Older plugins are also a security risk.
Then, run a known malware scanner to see if the malware or a virus is the culprit. Download the free version of "Malwarebytes" and run a full scan of the system. You can download it here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Then make a house cleaning.
- Clear browsing history and cache by clicking the orange button in Firefox, go to history | Clear recent history.
- In the menu that opens, change to "All" at the top and then click the lower arrow and Remove the check from "Form and Search History" (which fills in forms automatically), 'Cookies', 'Automatic login' and 'Preferences of Site '.
- This leaves just "historical navigation and download" and "Cache" checked. Then click on the "Clear now" button This may take a few minutes to remove, so be patient.
How many modules you have installed? Check by clicking on the orange button in Firefox, click on add-ins, and Extensions. If you have one of those on this list, remove them: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/performance/
But more than 10 modules will begin to degrade performance, especially on an older machine.
Check the list of 'Add-ons problematic' for other persons known to cause problems @ http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions
I hope this helps.

The latest operating system running slow on an iMac 2009
Thank you for your kindness.
I have a 2009 27 "iMac running the latest OS from August 2016.
Problem: It takes half an hour to move the mouse. Maybe a little exaggerated. But unusably slow.
In hindsight, it seems to have gotten slow slowly but faster to get slower lately... so now it takes half an hour to move the mouse.
How can I yet to diagnose the problem and find a solution?
Once again, thank you!Hi commddot!
Looks like you're running into a problem where the iMac runs more slowly over time and is now to the point that it is difficult to do anything about it because of how long it takes to move the mouse. I can only imagine how that would interfere with being able to use it for normal tasks while we must certainly take a look inside and see what happens with it.
One of the first things to check would be to see if there are elements of openness that could be causing the problem. To do this, click the in the upper left corner, click System Preferences. From there, click users and groups, click connection points. If you have things listed there, click on each one and then click on the symbol less box, it so that nothing is listed. Then restart the iMac and test to see if it's better.
Also, take a look at the Activity Monitor to see if there is runaway applications or processes that could cause it to run more slowly. If there are those who use a lot, then go ahead and stop the process. Here, this article shows how to use the activity monitor: use on your Mac activity monitor
If it is still slow, so we would need to test it in a new user account and also in safe mode. In this way we can isolate more when the question is in fact. Read these articles to find out how to do this:

Recently, I had slow moments where the application response time is delayed seriously or fail at all. AND a sound driving noise happens the laptop.

When I run a Quit in an application (text, Mail, Safari, Chrome, Opera-more recently) no response
So I force the application to quit
I went the activity monitor and stop a process with 'Daemon' included, sorry I don't know exactly the name of the process, but in the background noise has stopped and the speed of the computer back to normal.

Hello
I use Windows 8 and had a very good race with the system. but for these last days, I will have a slow system or is unresponsive. When I open the Task Manager, there is a 100% use in the section of the disc. Even if I'm not on the internet or is running is not a program there always something running in the background that I'm not able to identify. Could you pls help me with the problem.
Some programs I could doubt windows reporting module error that I see regularly take a long drive. If the cpu load and memory shows 100%.
I used to have a quick response to opening programs. Pls help
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards
Lili,
You said "there is a 100% use in the drive section". Can you please go to the details and tell us what process is causing all use?

I had a computer scientist to try everything, and we cannot on it to open it.Search the firefox process firefox.exe and kill him with for example the Task Manager. It is also worth watching for the plugincontainer.exe.
The problem and the solutions are explained in the articles:

Firefox running slow, even after the reset AND reinstalled
For the last several days that Firefox has worked really slow. When I open a new window it takes about 20-30 seconds to open an or if I try to load a site with flash (say for example of youtube) it takes time to load the site and you can not click anything, like back, address bar or even the X to close the window.
I have scanned for viruses and found nothing. I thought it was my computer when Firefox started to slow down, but I opened Opera and Saferi to see what it looked like and they are fine. Works very well. If I restart the computer, Firefox works fine for say 2 hours before you start to slow down slowly again over time (about 5 hours later it is uber slow!). I also reset Firefox that again gave the same result as the computer restarts, very well for a few hours before starting to slow down again. Reinstalled Firefox, but again it's very well for a few hours.
I don't know what to do. Firefox is my main browser, but I can't continue to use it like that because it takes forever to do anything.

Ways to help make a slow Mac faster
17 reasons why your Mac runs slower than expected
Slow performance of Mac? This Article addresses!
Difficulty of slow start in OS X | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews
How to fix the slow down time and start. | MacTip.net
6 easy tips to speed up OS X Yosemite on your Mac.
Avoid using third-party software that claims to clean your computer. This software does more harm than good. In addition, you don't need it. Note that all computers become slower over time even in the normal conditions of use. Generally, the experienced users erasing the hard drive and do a clean install from scratch at least once a year or every time that the installation of a major upgrade of the OS. Well sure doing so also means that you need to maintain regular and several backups.
Add more RAM or reduce the number of simultaneously executed from applications and utilities. Remove unnecessary software such as anti-malware and that promises to clean your Mac. Look for the runaway process: Runaway applications can shorten the battery life, affect performance and increase the heat and fan activity. Also, visit The FAQ XLab and read the FAQ on the treatment with The Spinning Beach Ball of Death.
The ultimate solution
Back up everything, wipe the drive, reinstall OS X and restore your data from backup. Reinstall the third-party software of original/zero media.

The system is slow and erratic.
I tried to get a restore point before 9-26. This is the date which probably the issue of java tried to enter my system several times a day, every day. The system is slow and unstable. I run scans, everything is clean. I don't know what svchost.exe is, but there is an error notice that arise, 5608-5312, application error. There is also an error message for the so-called "runtime".
An analysis of the registry and repair came up with several errors in registry.

Two points:
1. What did you perform analyses with? Not all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs are just as good, and some of the more popular are among the worst. There is a good chance that your problem is caused by a malware infection.
2 ignore what the RCS registry said that you are errors and do not run this software once again. Registry cleaning programs are * all * snake oil. The registry cleaning is not necessary and dangerous. Let alone register and do not use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and what software record cleaning providers are trying to you convince to have used the registry entries is not really make you hurt.
The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner by mistake delete an entry you need is much greater than any potential benefit it may have.
Read http://www.edbott.com/weblog/archives/000643.html
and http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099
Let me stress that neither me nor anyone else who warns against the use of registry cleaners has never said that they always cause problems. If they have always caused problems, they would disappear from the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry cleaner and never had a problem with it.
The problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it the essential * risk * to have a problem. And since there is no advantage to using a registry cleaner, running the risk is a very bad deal.

PC running slow increadibly with 128 MB of RAM - recommended to increase the RAM
Original title: pc running slow increadibly with 128 MB of RAM
My mother's PC runs incredibley slowly.
After you perform a clean installation of win xp and addition of firefox, and avast antivirus, pc still increadibly slow.
His laptop is a HP Omnibook xe4100 and has 128 MB of ram.
What I do need to update the ram of the laptop computer or is the problem of something that can be fixed with software recording cleaning?
Thanks for any help on this!If you did a clean install, it is not the registry slow down your computer. A clean installation removes all and back windows on the system with just windows files, so the registry is only what is absolutely need to run.
128 MB of RAM is incredibly low, so even if the slowness is caused by something else, you should buy more in any case, because it will help the computer a little.

Mid 2011 Mac Mini running slow/a lot of balloons of beach/HDD to research and writing
I have a Mid 2011 Mac Mini, which runs slower than a snail's pace. I frequently get beach balls as I type this message. Startup time is very long, and the hard drive is often written / search/access for several minutes at random throughout the day.
This seemed to start after I have updated to El Capitan 10.11.6. I decided a few weeks to reinstall OS X without doing a thorough cleaning. It did not help the situation, so I then proceeded to install the latest beta of Mac OS 10.12 to see if that helped. Nope. I don't think I have a bad hard drive, either.
I have just run an EtreCheck and copied below. Any ideas? I don't want to run my computer at the Apple store. Thank you!

When I try to open Firefox, I get this message:
"Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old process of Firefox must be closed to open a new window. »
I then clicked close firefox, but the problem was solved not so I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but it's the same thing.
At this point, I went to support Mozilla and tried the steps described in the article, "Firefox is already running but is not responsible for - How to fix error message", but the firefox.exe process was not in the processes tab in windows Task Manager. While he was in the Details tab, when I tried to put an end to the process, I received this message:
"The operation could not be completed. Access is denied. "What can I do to fix this?
Thank you.
Usually when you stop and restart Windows, Firefox is not running and can be started normally.
Firefox is set to start automatically with Windows? Microsoft has a utility to investigate what is set to happen at startup: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
It is possible that something is triggering a process in your default browser and it is the hanging of Firefox. You can try to change your default browser to IE (IE can offer to do when you start) before the shutdown and restart Windows to see if it makes a difference.
