  I'm on OEL 4.8 and just install Apps 11i. Strange enough cannot open the browser as user 'oracle '. But it opens when you sign in as 'root' (in the menu).
  
  Tried sudo u oracle firefox, (once logged in as 'oracle' and then su - root) and the issue then sh - x/usr/bin/firefox and the browser opens fine. Why then I open it as user 'oracle' in the menu, as I need to run applications 11i?

  I had Windows 8/1 on my desktop Dell XPS 8500 with 24 GB of memory; a fast machine. I have a strong internet connection through my phone company Qwest; still works perfectly. Firefox worked fine. Then, last week or so I downloaded the upgrade of Windows 10 and since then, I continue to have problems. Firefox has slowed to a crawl, when it works.
