Firefox print preview

This isn't a question, it's more of a statement of a problem of preview before printing in Firefox 4.01 and 3.6.

When using min-height styling on a Web page, if an element (all) exceeds a page while using the preview before printing, then the element extends AGAIN to this min-height on the second page... In other words, min-height is applied to new, even if the element which is already higher than this minimum height.

You can probably use media = "print" and a file separate print.css to work around this problem.

  • I was wondering if I'm looking for something which exists not-firefox can automatically close the "Print preview" window after printing?

I use the addon in my firefox toolbar to print an excerpt from the data of the Web site and then add it to a pdf file. Sometimes I'm distracted, then do not remember if I went through the process and print/added the page in the file. It would be useful if there was a way that the print preview window closes after printing which confirms that the process is complete. Thanks in advance.

You're right: print preview remains open until the licensee. As a person who is regularly using the ESC key to dismiss dialog boxes, I had not really noticed an extra step.

After a little research, it triggered a few times over the years (at least 2 identified bugs) but one was rejected immediately and the other has not attracted a serious debate since it was filed in 2006. I think that there are no secret switch in the software to do this.

  • Since Firefox v10. Layout, print preview and print do not seem to work with XP PRO SP2 x 64, but normally work with Win7 x 64.

Layout, simply change line title to the foreground and freezes the screen except for the ability to close the page and return to the page where Page Setup was invoked. This print preview a gray monochrome page with the normal menu features that normally respond except the function of setting of the Page. Print prints a blank page still. Noticed problems with Firefox beta versions 10 and 11 and 12, with XP Pro SP2 x 64. Firefox version 11 has no such problems with Windows 7 ult x 64.

  • Print preview screen forces small print

Something happened to the preview screen before printing. It displays the Web site to print as a small box centered at the top of the preview screen print and force feel also like a small box at the top of the printed page. If I change the scale, the image in the Exchange area but not the box itself. This is the box to fill the screen, so it will fill the page when it is printed.

I fixed my own problem - then I will document in case anyone has the same problem. First of all, he had nothing to do with the preview before printing. I found that if I print from the file menu (file / print), which bypassed the print preview, it displays the same little box. When I opened the properties of the printers, I noticed that the Page size has been defined: User Defined (3.5 x 5.0 inches). Where that come from I don't know, but when I changed the size of the Page of: letter (8.5 x 11) and printed the webpage, it filled the paper. Now I can open print preview and it shows the mode full-screen and print the full document. What is strange, is that before I made this change, printing from another browser (like IE) print a web page very well. Only when I used Firefox Page size have not shown in 3.5 x 5.0. I guess the size of the Page - while in Firefox - fixed the problem.

  • Why print preview and print lose lines of text from the image to the screen in the browser

When I bring up (for example) a magazine article in my browser and you want to print it for future reference, print preview and printed image 'lost' lines of text between pages compared to the original image in the browser. For example: visit this link: http://www.pcauthority.com.au/Feature/408318, how-to-make-windows-admin-easy-with-powershell.aspx?eid=2 & edate = 20150828 & utm_source = 20150828 & utm_medium = newsletter & utm_campaign = weekly_newsletter & nl = weekly and select 'Print' from the menu. Print preview that appears - poster in portrait mode or landscape - loses one or two lines of text for the print version wraps useless. Where the missing text? pagination is not identical, and Firefox seems unable to handle it.

I use a HP desktop with Intel i7 CPU 8 GB of RAM and Win 7 Pro SP1. Firefox is V40.0.3

I do not see "imposed by the system of page breaks" encoded in this Web page. It would be difficult for an author of a Web page with an international audience.

You use A4 paper, but what about those of us using letter-size paper? Page breaks may screw up page print to LETTER, from a Web site to THE like this.
And what about the 'zoom' different levels? For printing which is called scale preview of Firefox and Page Setup print.
I put systematically "modest" when printing to save paper, to keep the last page to only a few lines, or when the font size in print preview is too great (IMO) for printing on paper. And the size of police appeared to have worsened as monitor resolutions have gotten larger over the years.

The only time wherever I lost lines of text between printed pages was when I was "pushing the limits" with the paper up and down / page margins. IOW, too small header / footer trying to get on each page as possible. By default, Firefox a. 5 "margins (left and right) with. 5 "header / footer (top and bottom margins) = letter-size paper. With 'A' type of paper using metric would be tantamount to the margins of 12.7 mm on all four sides. The /metric of inches "toggle" is with the size of the paper, the user has selected.

Check the Page > margins & header / footer to see if you have the parameters of ~ 12mm or it they are smaller.

  • How can I disable print preview

I installed Firefox 38. I've been avoid for a year because of the stupid that UI changes that really pss me off.

I don't like Chrome and IE even more, so I'm finding how to get things to work as they did before.

Once, when I clicked on the print button in the toolbar would raise Print and I could click OK. Now, it brings up the preview before printing. It adds additional steps every time and I don't like. Most of the time I'm printing to PDF, so I saw print.

How can I change the toolbar button do NOT use print preview mode?

    Thank you

Look, there are many users who is upset with the print button now opens preview before printing first rather open the native print dialog box; their is a Bug filed on this subject because it is more difficult to "print selection", but until it's resolved - this is the way it is - broken.

I keep my right hand on the mouse and use my left hand (thumb and index) to Ctrl + P with the right Ctrl key when I want to print without preview.

  • with these changes, I can only print a page of print preview ability has been removed I use it all the time when you want to print something on a Web site

When I was on a website and I tried to print a page, it allows to be a tab that says "FIREFOX" in the upper left corner of my screen, I could click on that tab and I had several options, one was "print" and "print preview". All the time, I use the Preview button before printing to see how the page would look like when I was feeling and how many pages there are. I could then choose to print all or part of an article and adjust it to what I wanted to print. I don't have this tab in the upper right corner. A tab for "open menu" is now in the upper right corner, however, in this menu is only a button 'print '. There is no option for "print preview" and so I can't address that I want to print. I could also adjust margins, etc. of a tab from the view, I can not find too. I really hope there are always options and how I find, where are they located?

I had the same problem at first. You open the e-mail as usual. And then in the Actions drop-down list box, you select the print option. This has worked for me and printed the actual e-mail only.

The print preview option is integrated into the application you are using. In Firefox if you hove above the button 'print' you should get other options that appear. Here is how mine looks to Windows 7:
