Firefox shows no ads, even if I have not activated advertising blockers

Is there something with my Firefox. It does not display ads even if I have not activated advertising blockers.

I would like to support some of the sites supported by advertising, so it is a very big problem for me.

Tried updating Firefox and create a new profile, nothing works.

What can be the reason?

After you disable tracking in all: config, everything works as expected.

It seems that the settings do nothing. Certainly a bug, I hope it will be fixed soon.

  • Open Firefox, showing a tab, even with only one page

I use Firefox on Mac. After a new update at the moment, Firefox takes up screen real estate at the top of its window to display a tab, even when there is no other page open (that is, there is only one tab). I only need to see the tabs if I have more than one open, but I can't find a framework to fight against this.

    Hello

In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the firefox options define and protect users against unintentially damage their Firefox, the option to hide the tab bar has been removed.

    Refer to: http://limi.net/checkboxes-that-kill

Fortunately, this can easily be solved if you want the tabs to keep hidden. You can install 'hide the bar tab with a tab' and extension hosted on the website of Mozilla Add - ons, which will restore the ability to hide the tab bar.

Thank you and I hope this helps!

  • Firefox is very slow. Common solutions have not worked

    Hello
I really hope someone can help!

I have a 5920 AcerAspire on Window Vista

Thunderbird has become very slow - up to 10 seconds to load a page (especially since this Monday).

    So far, I have:
Used 3 pieces different malware (my normal F Secure, SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes) and got rid of 3 Trojans (all Tracur).

    SpeedyFox installed - no effect

    Updated Plug-ins

Checked with my ISP connection speed. It is very well

Now for some strange reason, since I have updated my Firefox Plugins, I can't open Thunderbird at all - I just get the whirring circle for a few seconds then nothing.

Someone at - it a solution? Please, I beg you!

    Well, then let's do it.

Please read how to create a new profile (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles) and just create a vacuum, one for testing, if it starts fine with tat, then we know that it is just a matter of a corrupted profile and we can transfer all of your information in the new profile.

  • Firefox shows upwards on the taskbar but will not maximize when clicking on window

I tried re installation, but when I click the icon it will appear on the taskbar but will not maximize.

It is a more detailed explanation of the above.

Sometimes, a window is "off the screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the search for the start bar menu (or Windows 8.1 may bar charms bar research?) type or paste the following and press ENTER to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

If ping works, then it means that the connection is OK.

Have you checked the setting of the connection and the setting in your security software (firewall)?

  • Firefox downloads a file, even if I choose "Cancel".

If I click on a link to a file (for example, PDF, DOC), a dialog box asking me 'Open with [applications]' or 'Save file' is displayed. This dialog box has a "Cancel" or the OK"" button. So if I decide to cancel - which means that I can't download the file - Firefox goes ahead and downloads anyway. In fact, it seems actually download the file as soon as I click on the link, before I even had a chance to click 'Cancel' or 'OK '. This does not seem like the correct behavior for me. Is there a setting somewhere that can disable this automatic download?

    I use Firefox on a Mac 20.0.

Hello, Yes, your comments are fair, firefox will start to download a file immediately, even when you have not yet made the choice had save / how to open the file or cancel the download. then there is the expected behavior and this probably to reduce the time it takes to download the file in question. I don't think there is any setting in firefox to change this behavior.
