Firefox sync also often hangs on mobile

When you use the sync Firefox the browser will hang and finish the process and restart the application.

I think that the accident happen because of your addons, make sure your addons are uptodate!

The new Yosemite and iOS feature is very convenient. When you open Safari in OS x, you can also see the tabs open IOS. But switch to Safari so that this is not an option. Is it possible to do with Firefox? I found this: http://joshparnham.com/projects/cloudytabs/
But have not yet tried. Easier solutions?

Unfortunately not at the moment. Stay tuned for more impressive features to Firefox Sync. How can I set up Sync on my computer?

  • Mobile authentication, or "SMS recovery' for Firefox Sync planned?

Is there a plan to add mobile authentication or something like "SMS recovery" at least to Firefox Sync?

    Hi snowtruman,
Not that I'm aware, but there is always an option to suggest an improvement to Firefox account services. This can be done in bugzilla.mozilla.org.

  • Cannot set up firefox sync easily on behalf of different funds (non-mobile)

It seems almost impossible to set up firefox Sync. I try to use the synchronization so that my experience of Firefox is consistent between accounts on the same machine (IE Firefox in Windows and OSX - I'm under bootcamp on Macbook Pro). I'm not trying to use it for synchronization between desktop computers and a mobile device, which is the way Sync seems to be configured. Is it possible or I was deceived into thinking Sync can synchronize accounts Office betweem. I installed an account, but I can't use it because of the need to enter a few characters to pair a device I don't want to do. I just want to backup and sync my adds & history so why do I need a mobile device for it? If please put me out of my agony and tell me if synchronization it will be or not, and how I put it to the top (without any reference to a mobile device).

OK, right, I solved my problem. I decided to just try to delete the account and start again. Fortunately, the deletion occurred immediately which meant that I could set up the new account. Everything I needed was someone say, just delete the account. This is the solution for this problem, if anyone is interested. I must say that this configuration of the synchronization is a poor real hash that has not been clearly thought through. So I say that it is a complete failure to Mozilla. In this regard, chrome is so much better and easier to use.

  • a few missing bookmarks on mobile device after firefox sync

I have 12 of Firefox installed on my iMac, running Mac OS x 10.6.8. I successfully setup my Firefox sync and tied both my 3rd gen iPad and iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1 s. In addition to the process of synchronization still holding, I also noticed that a few bookmarks are missing on my devices. I tried to re-synchronization and the fact of separate devices and reissue of links and I even deleted, recreated and resynced my account but the problem persists. Is be the same missing bookmarks on both devices. What do you advise?

    Hello!

Firefox Home is just a client of Firefox Sync and download any changes to servers so it is unlikely that this process has affected bookmarks, preferences, or the history in your computer. If this is the case, you can accidentally delete this bookmark or there is an add-on of messing with them

If, however, you MENTION is that your iPhone / iPad lack both the same bookmark, it is possible that an individual has not been uploaded to the server again. Allow your computer to extra time to connect to our servers you open (this process happens in the background) so everything can be pushed to the server, then to your phone.

    I hope this can help,
    Ibai

  • Want to add desktop Firefox sync (have mobile with me)

I want to pair Office Firefox in current sync account, but I don't have access to the Firefox account funds already synchronized, only to the account Android oboe.
    How can I do?

Hello leo, on your android phone will in the application of the system settings and in Accounts & sync (could be worded slightly different on different android devices), go to firefox sync & tap on pair a device.

on your desktop, go to firefox > options > synchronization > configure firefox sync > I have an account that will show you a 3 x 4 character code that you will need to enter your android device to complete the process.

  • Can I get a version of Firefox also for my Windows Mobile 6?

I have an old but good working smartphone including the OS is Windows Mobile 6.1
I would like to know if there is any version of old or new Firefox that I can use with this smartphone.
If so, I would be happy to receive the related link.
    Thanks in advance
    Mauro

The development of Firefox mobile is mainly focused on the Android 2.1 + platform.

    https://wiki.Mozilla.org/mobile/platforms

    Windows Mobile
Firefox has stopped development for Windows Mobile indefinitely. Thank you to our contributors for their continued support and feedback. The last release for Windows Mobile was 1.1 alpha 1 (download). We have stopped developing for Microsoft's mobile platform because Windows Phone 7 no longer allows developers to build C++ applications like Firefox, and Microsoft's new policies ban open-source software like Firefox from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

  • Firefox Sync issues

I have BIG problems with Firefox Sync. I have rearranged the books on the Firefox browser on my laptop, including other penetrating Mobile bookmarks. The changes would have disclosed on my phone. But nothing has changed.

I don't know what the problem is! I tried to unplug the two accounts and raise them, but not only did it does NOT solve the problem with bookmarks, but now I can't change the options for that I want to sync on my phone AND my phone will not even update which is synchronized! It SUCKS!

Is anyway to fix this? My laptop uses Windows 8.1 and my PC and my smartphone Galaxy Note 3 use 39 Version of Firefox.

Anyone know how this can be corrected?

    Hi LEAPS2HI,
Thank you for your question. As you moved the folder of bookmarks Mobile bookmarks, they then also will appear in the folder of bookmarks from office. However as they do not make duplicates I think that it can display in both files.

    1. Is mobile bookmarks file still there on the desk?
    2. Is the favorite of office yet on the Mobile device?

Bookmark management is one of the best features requested for sync. I made some experiences and when you add a bookmark on the Mobile device will be added to this folder. However from the desktop you can move in and out of this folder. I moved one from a mobile phone to the bookmarks Menu and he moved to this folder on the Mobile device.

First make sure that the automatic synchronization is enabled and you tried to make a change, and then click Tools > synchronize now.

  • Firefox Sync doesn't work yet!

    Hello.

At a time where sharing or the sync'ing information is so important, the current Firefox sync service is a shameful disaster. What makes this worse again, is your persistent refusal to get correctly sorted.

Obvious as it appears your Twitter stream, this has happened since April, 2013.

Still, expect mobile devices to adopt Firefox OS. Yet you can't even manage your current structure of reliable synchronization.

Chrome sync'ing works very well and easily between my computer laptop and Android devices. It is also much simpler to implement.

I can't believe that you are unable to prevent the blade from Firefox. Enough dreaming of new solutions, until you sort the current mess known as Sync.

    Hi FireDuck,
I suspect that some may sympathize with you and agree that synchronization is not a resounding success.

However, this is not the place to discuss issues related to development and will not receive any attention from the developer. Maybe post a comment to https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback

We may be able to help with synchronization issues, and have a series of articles for example

In my view, the development of the current system of synchronization stopped as a new more efficient system {profile in the cloud (PiCL)} is being developed.

  • Cannot set up Firefox sync on desktop - no recovery key and will not let me connect to get

I downloaded Firefox for my new android phone and wanted to sync my office with the mobile app. When I went it said I had an account already set in place, but since I don't remember the information about this I just ended up changing the password so I could identify and then deleted the entire account.

I have advanced and set up a new sync account, but he never gave me a recovery key. I don't think not that anything like that, but then the failure of the initial synchronization and I got an error message indicating the user name or password is incorrect.

This happened twice and every time I went back and was over by resetting the password or deleting the whole account. But whenever I have go through the steps of creating another account never gave me a recovery key.

I looked around and I tried following the steps to get a recovery key, but I don't have the ability to manage my account (perhaps because it was never entirely created and never went through an initial synchronization?) and I get an error message indicating the user name and password is incorrect, whenever I try to go through the steps to reset the recovery key. This is despite the fact that I can connect with the same credentials on the page of Firefox sync - for some reason any he just does not accept the normal browser sync tab.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium and 13.0.1 Firefox version. No matter what help you can give me would be most appreciated as this has been driving me crazy for the last hours I'm trying to work through this.

    Hello

Please see this for more details about the recovery key. You can also try to start over again using these steps (three parts): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-up-firefox-sync

If you are able to connect to the synchronization site which means the account still exists. In this case, you can try to delete the account, wait a few minutes and then try to configure the synchronization as described in the previous link.

  • Firefox sync calendar

Is there a way to plan the Firefox sync with Android? Often, I have a web page on my desk which would be very convenient access on the road using my phone, but I find the synchronization happens only once a day, and usually it's too late.

    Thank you

    Hello

I had a quick glance and I don't see whatever it is that I was sure would work. I don't want to suggest something that would not work or (even worse) break your copy of Firefox.

That said, Firefox for Android is an ongoing project, and it's something they might want to consider. I feed it to the team so that they can consider for the future.

  • Firefox sync fails to connect to the server.

Firefox sync has not worked on my laptop for the last days. It fails with the error
"Unable to connect to the server. Synchronize automatically retrying this action. »
Sync works fine on my Android device on the same network. I tried to disconnect and reconnect my sync account and also tried to synchronize in safe mode without success. The error in the synchronization log report: https://pastebin.mozilla.org/8834320.
About: config the services.sync.clusterURL is not set. services.sync.tokenServerURI has the value default 'https://token.services.mozilla.com/1.0/sync/1.5'.

Understand the problem. I had activated FIPS compliance on my software security device. Apparently, WeaveCrypto used by sync is not FIPS compatible. I disabled FIPS now and sync works fine. Bug report: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443386

  • Why Firefox Sync does not work on my home network, but at work?

Firefox Sync on my laptop does not work when my laptop is connected to my home network, but for example if I'm at my desk.

The internet connection in my house is fine, I can surf the web with this same Firefox on IPv4 and IPv6, DNS etc. also works. Connection to accounts.firefox.com works also, as Firefox for the sync account. Only the synchronization process runs aground. On my desktop at home, I have exactly the same problems. When I open https://sync-209-us-west-2.sync.services.mozilla.com/ in a browser tab, I see a confirmation message that synchronization runs on this server, so apparently the network path between my computer and this server is free.

After investigation with Wireshark, I see the TLS negotiation successfully, then packages the client was able to respond and after some time, the server closes the connection (encrypted alert). Apparently, no content is transferred between the client and the server. I have attached a screenshot of how Wireshark sees the conversation between the server and the client (sending pictures here did not work so I put on the web: http://ibin.co/1zXABHKdj5mA).

To exclude a possible configuration problem or bad module, I created a clean Firefox profile and logged into my account in Firefox, but this shows exactly the same problems.

Fun fact: Firefox on my Android phone will sync on my home network.

Below, I will link two logs, a successful synchronization (corporate network) and a synchronization failed (home network):
    Sync @ Office: http://pastebin.com/rZmfrbdL
    Sync @ home: http://pastebin.com/a3KUCevJ

The problem seems to be with your ISP - you can refer to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1118958 and they may be able to find a workaround by changing your diet or to help you configure a different MTU for the network.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I remove wrong email for Firefox Sync on my browser?

    Hi all

I use Firefox 37 recently. I'm new to Firefox sync and made a stupid mistake. I myself registered with my email account but accidently left a character. It seems that the verification email has gone to someone who has that email address.

I tried to register on the synchronization with the correct e-mail and now I get the message:
    Merge the warning
Another user has been previously connected to synchronize on this computer. Signing in will merge bookmarks from that browser, passwords and other settings with "... @mail.com '.

Is it possible to remove the wrong address of my browser?

    Thank you

Try to delete the folder of the armor and the signedInUser.json file in the Firefox profile folder and delete the prefs.js file to reset the prefs and may also remove the compatibility.ini file to reset the profile.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

  • Firefox Sync active but used to synchronize

Hello. I can't synchronize my old Surface Pro 2 on my new Surface Pro 3 Firefox.
Both are running windows 8.1. Firefox sync OK for over a year on my Surface 2 OK but I lost the password.

On SP2, I updated FF, deleted the old account synchronization and set up a new sync account. SP3, I have implemented the same account.
When I connect to the sync SP3 account, the message "synchronization will begin momentarily" displays but nothing happens.

Following suggestions from the forum, I made these changes both SP2 and SP3.
    1. disconnect, then reconnect to synchronize.
2 delete the signedInUser.json file in the Firefox profile folder closed and possibly delete the folder of armor as well.
3 remove and re-create the account FxA. at https://accounts.firefox.com/settings

I also reinstalled FF on SP3. Same message, but used to synchronize.
    Appreciate any suggestions.

    Offspring again: problem solved!
Pending a response I connected again to Sync on SP2 and SP3. Same message "Sync" momentarily but no synchronization.
Then I noticed the menu bar missing on SP3 FF. While fixing that I found your Q & a on how to fix corrupted toolbar - go to Menu/customize and click on "restore default settings".
Who has accompanied me through the beginning of FF upward. I chose FF as my default again BUT this time on the next step that I choose to use Firefox NOT Internet Explorer. (on my FF 1st installation I chose it is because the choice of FF produces a message that IE cannot complete installation).
Makes synchronization of SP3 immediately synchronized with SP2!
Trusting that this hotfix helps anyone with the same issue.
