What security software do you have?

There are security software such as Avast and Kaspersky and BitDefender and ESET which intercepts secure connections and sends its own certificate.

If you cannot inspect the certificate by "I understand the risks", then try this:

Open the "Add Security Exception" this URL chrome by pasting into the address bar of Firefox and check the certificate:

    • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.XUL

In the field of location of this window, type or paste the URL of the Web site.

    • retrieve the certificate via the button 'Get certificate '.
    • Click on the "view..." button. "to inspect the certificate in the certificate display

You can check details such as the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the certificate display.

  • Firefox Sync gave a new facility with no priority of settings or default on an established instance

I created Firefox on a new Windows 10 PC setup and activated my account Firefox Sync on this instance.
When I got back to my regular desktop PC, I find that Firefox has acquired the new PC settings rather than on the new PC acquire the established PC settings.

I was expecting the opposite to happen.

While the installation of new PC would have parameters of age "more recent" the established PC that was put in place several months ago and on technical, the most recent stamp usually takes precedence, in this case, where the settings and installation dates are only minutes apart, that the direction of the synchronization must to were questioned and confirmed.

  • Firefox sync (Linux Mint 17.02)

Hey there! I tried to set up Firefox sync. Remove the .mozilla folder in my home directory synchronization does not work yet to reinstall Firefox several times. I tried to use Firefox 41.02 and 42.0.
The sync connection is successful and Firefox tries to sync (blue circle), but nothing happens. When you go to about: preferences #sync, then to 'Manage', it takes a while to load before you get an "unexpected error".
I'm trying to sync between my laptop and my desktop, the two Linux Mint 17.02.

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

Your first journal suggests synchronization completed. It has a few warnings bookmark weird and disturbing, but otherwise it's okay.

Your second newspaper told me that you are on a network of Unitymedia.

You must reduce your MTU, so it doesn't cut it connections.

  • Firefox Sync on different offices-list of sync'd data-is it possible to see what we have sync in our accounts?

Good day to you, members of the community!
Have a very small but very important (I think, not only to me) question.
It will be possible to see in https://accounts.firefox.com/settings?uid=etc what we sync'in (I want to say list of tabs, password section, session, etc.)?
For example, we have submenu in 'History' - 'bookmarks of other devices.
There I can see what bookmarks I have on the other device.

But no way to see passwords, preferences, history, active session. Will the devs introduce such features in next versions of Sync?

In addition, some possibilities to separate one single device from others? (I have 4 PCs, 2 of them I need to synchronize only the Favorites, tabs & passwords, the other 2 - only the bookmarks & tabs). Now, if I want to work with such a way, I need to create 2 different profiles for each pair of these PC synchronization.

Sorry, the data saved on the server is encrypted and cannot be read by anyone as it is a server or even outside of a Firefox browser. The encryption is done on the upload to the server for synchronization and encryption is done when the data comes back from the server synchronization that happens in an installation of Firefox. The 'key' stays inside Firefox, it is not sent to the sync server - no one has access to this 'key', but you, and it's inside Firefox stored in the Firefox account credentials in the password field.

As much as this is possible in the future - slim to no chance. To make this possible sync will have to be completely rewritten to change the encryption protocol. Something simply not developers to Sync ever wanted as a feature.

Each installation of Firefox can be put in place for what is synchronized in Options > Sync. Select all or all - tabs, Favorites, passwords, history, modules, preferences.

Separate what sync gets had however you want or use 2 different accounts of synchronization for each pair or the PC. You can even setup the same version of Firefox on a PC with separate profiles and have separate data on each profile with a separate for each profile synchronization account. But the combination you put 2 and 2 data synchronization, but 2 is becoming more in sync would have can be made with a single account. Deselect the option just data types, you want synchronized on 2 devices.

In which your question 2nd separate or different add-ons by device; Deselect the option modules if you do not want add-ons that you want to synchronize or when they are synchronized to do not what they are deleted when you uninstall an add-on on another device (or deselect Add ons on the device that you want to remove an add-on so that 'action' are sent to the server synchronization, and then to other devices).

  • clear history of search - Firefox sync

Is there a way to permanently delete the search history stored in Firefox sync?
Although I have deleted the story down and synchronize, it always stores my recent search terms.
I can see the search terms when I create a new profile.
The problem is not on the question of ease of use. Rather a matter of privacy.

You can request a new password synchronization which will erase all your data on the server.

  • Firefox sync calendar

Is there a way to plan the Firefox sync with Android? Often, I have a web page on my desk which would be very convenient access on the road using my phone, but I find the synchronization happens only once a day, and usually it's too late.

    Thank you

    Hello

I had a quick glance and I don't see whatever it is that I was sure would work. I don't want to suggest something that would not work or (even worse) break your copy of Firefox.

That said, Firefox for Android is an ongoing project, and it's something they might want to consider. I feed it to the team so that they can consider for the future.

  • are sync and firefox the same account?

I had one of these pop ups, your FF is slow loading, so I said ok, then hit me in the update to sync... I had problems to connect to change my PW twice and it worked once then not again. so the questions are:
    (1) is firefox account and synchronization are the same?
    (2) they have different pws?
    (3) can I connect out of them taken separately or together?

    (4) how do know if I'm in sync, new or old.
[first time I tried there was any "disconnect" on my sync page]

Once I get accounts and PWs straightened, I'll be back with more questions.

Sorry to be critical, but I think that a lot of the faq and help pages are near worthless. They also carry many assumptions about what you know already if ask you a question. One solution, whatever it IS mentioned [e.g., sync, connection, usename, etc.] should have one < more > link.

I have two laptops with Ubuntu LTS 14.4 and one with Win7. With Firefox, Adblock, Noscript and HTTPS everywhere. All three laptops are doing the same thing. Have the privacy set to clear the history of passwords under unchecked data. Sync works between devices, passwords are stored. Get the cannot connect SYNCHRONIZATION, incorrect password or username at the start of Firefox. Firefox and operating systems are up to date.

  • Firefox Sync issues

I have BIG problems with Firefox Sync. I have rearranged the books on the Firefox browser on my laptop, including other penetrating Mobile bookmarks. The changes would have disclosed on my phone. But nothing has changed.

I don't know what the problem is! I tried to unplug the two accounts and raise them, but not only did it does NOT solve the problem with bookmarks, but now I can't change the options for that I want to sync on my phone AND my phone will not even update which is synchronized! It SUCKS!

Is anyway to fix this? My laptop uses Windows 8.1 and my PC and my smartphone Galaxy Note 3 use 39 Version of Firefox.

Anyone know how this can be corrected?

    Hi LEAPS2HI,
Thank you for your question. As you moved the folder of bookmarks Mobile bookmarks, they then also will appear in the folder of bookmarks from office. However as they do not make duplicates I think that it can display in both files.

    1. Is mobile bookmarks file still there on the desk?
    2. Is the favorite of office yet on the Mobile device?

Bookmark management is one of the best features requested for sync. I made some experiences and when you add a bookmark on the Mobile device will be added to this folder. However from the desktop you can move in and out of this folder. I moved one from a mobile phone to the bookmarks Menu and he moved to this folder on the Mobile device.

First make sure that the automatic synchronization is enabled and you tried to make a change, and then click Tools > synchronize now.
