Firefox unresponsive after downloading files

After I downloaded a file, Firefox is not responding and I have to wait for about 10 seconds before I can use it again.

This also happens when I use 'download all '.

That may be a problem with your software AV. Firefox let your antivirus by default analysis program the file after the download is complete.

    Try these troubleshooting tips:

  • Pop - ups without closing after downloading files using webutil_file_transfer.client_to_as_with_progress on linux machines

    We have an Oracle application that runs on windows and linux machines based on the forms. Application server is database to Oracle 11 g and 10g.

    There is a feature of the application where the user can download his files to the application server, as well as in the database.

    When transfer us files by accessing the application in windows (Internet application), and then download the feature works very well.

    When we transfer files by accessing the application on linux machines, then also download files get stored on the database and application server and features works.

    However, as soon as the download starts a pop-up is launched by displaying the message like "upload to the application server is in progress."

    These pop - ups are not get closed even when the file is downloaded to the application server.

    Can you please let me know how to deal with this behavior

    Application server is database to Oracle 11 g and 10g.

    And you release Forms?  We can only "Assume" you use form 10g since you are using Oracle Application Server (OAS) 10g.  But of course you "Assume" you use OAS 10g since you specifically mentioned.

    Since you have a deployed Web app forms, it would be also useful to know-your-client Java and browser versions.

    We have an Oracle application that runs on windows and linux machines based on the forms.

    When we transfer files by accessing the application on linux machines, then also download files get stored on the database and application server and features works.

    However, as soon as the download starts a pop-up is launched by displaying the message like "upload to the application server is in progress."

    WebUtil is a single library of Windows.  While some of the methods in the library will work on non-windows clients - they are not guaranteed to work on non-windows clients.

    These pop - ups are not get closed even when the file is downloaded to the application server.

    Since you are actually able to get this method to work, I suggest you check the version of the Client operating system and if it's Windows, use the Client_To_As_With_Progress() method and if it's not Windows, then simply use the Client_To_AS() method.  The other option would be to implement a Javabean to file transfer (A FTP Java Bean - Oracle Forms PJCs/Java Beans) in your form that works with any version of operating system Client.

  • How can I keep my Bookmarks Toolbar icons (I tried Deiconizer to bookmarks) even after downloading files?

    I prefer a clean workspace in my browser, I'm looking to get rid of the icons in the bookmarks toolbar. I've been using the bookmarks-Deiconizer (version 2.3) and it works pretty well. When I open Firefox for the first time, but also new windows, icons do not appear, do the arrows down, and it's great.

    However, every time I download a file as a PDF file, icons appear and will disappear only after that I closed ALL my windows open or restart Firefox. This is problematic for me because I often work with lots of PDF files and do not want to have to close all windows to get back my own work space.

    Y at - it sort of coding I can do instead to remove the icons? I visited this thread (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/792988), but unfortunately I can't seem to locate the file "userChrome.css". I think that the coding of Firefox may have changed since then, but I'm not very tech savvy, so I could be wrong.

    Thanks for the help.

    userChrome.css and this file must be located inside the \chrome\ does not exist until the user creates this file and this file in the folder of their profile.

    http://antennasoft.NET/robcee/2012/04/20/bookmarks-deiconizer-userChrome-Edition/

    If you install this extension - ChromEdit Plus the necessary file and the folder will be created for you, and you will be able to add and modify preferences for the 3 'user' files in Firefox.

  • Firefox won't download files - open new page and just stop whenclicking on the icon to download or address.

    Suddenly, Firefox download a file from a URL or clickable icon. This seemed occur after installation of HideMyAss. When I click on a download address, or an icon, the page changes, (as opposed to simply from the download) is trying to load (status bar goes to halfway) and then nothing, it just sits there. If I try to download a torrent file, the same thing happens, even if I can download it using option + click. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Doug

    Hello

    Maybe you can disable HideMyAss to see if this is the cause of the problem you are having?

  • Firefox unresponsive after restarting my computer after having made changes in the settings of the history and cookies

    I have some changes to cookies and erased my story for today... and then restarted my computer... now that firefox does not open... will not respond... should I uninstall firefox and then reinstall?

    If I uninstall firefox will be reversed the changes I made with cookies and my story?

    If I was to uninstall and reinstall firefox will lose my bookmarks if I do this? or firefox remembers them... so when I reinstall the previous bookmark is too reinstalled?

    Is - this Firefox starts when you open first after the computer restarts, but crashes the next time that you try to start? If Yes, then there is a bug in Firefox 29 where Firefox crashes out when the parameter ' delete history closing Firefox "is selected, so that you get an error" running but not responding do not "next time you ttry to launch. In this case, end the firefox.exe process in Windows Task Manager (or restart the computer) and then reset your Firefox Privacy options and UNCHECK the option «Clear history of Firefox closing» See this article for more details:
    Privacy, historical settings of navigation and-no-track

    If this isn't the problem and Firefox still open even after restarting the computer, then try to boot mode safe of Firefox by holding down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox. If Firefox starts then read Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to narrow down the cause.

  • Download files and HTTP service

    Hi all

    I have a problem in the communication of the return values after the upload of a file. I have my flex with HTTP Service registered application that is my servlet server-side. When I am in normal event processing, all right. In my mxml file I have:

    < mx:HTTPService id = "textRequest".
    method = "post".
    ' URL =' http://localhost: 8080/myservice "
    useProxy = "false".
    resultFormat = "e4x".
    result = "OnResult (Event); »
    Fault = "onFault (Event); ' invoke = "onInvoke (event)" >
    < / mx:HTTPService >

    Result method is recorded and it is treat all my data server. But this method is not invoked when I file upload, clues why? After downloading files, I need to communicate the contents of the downloaded file in turn, and I just wanted to put this in the response from the server. Just for the record, next to this file upload works fine.

    Thanks for the help,
    See you soon

    Hello

    I think I found the solution of optmial for me. In my case, I didn't have to double the number of communicates, so here it is, all download event data and a code for this example:

    dispatcher.addEventListener (DataEvent.UPLOAD_COMPLETE_DATA, uploadCompleteDataHandler);

    private void uploadCompleteDataHandler(event:DataEvent): void {}

    var result: XML = new XML (event.data);
    dataString = result.data.@text;

    }

    Event.Data contains 'raw server rΘponse' so that you can retrieve your data from there.

    Thanks for your help :)

    P.S. I found some info on it here:

    I have a problem when using Firefox to download files in cPanel and even in WordPress when adding themes or plugins. • Firefox can not play videos, download files or run updates

    All of a sudden my browser isn't more videos. Firefox tells me my ins plugg java are blocked because there are unstable, but I can't update. later I noticed that I can not download files or run updates. What could be the cause of the problem?

    I already tried other things: System Recovery, deleted temporary files, etc. I received an alert from avira anti virus, but this doesn't seem to be a dangerous virus that is causing the problem more I received this alert a day after the trouble started.

    I don't have access to another computer to download files or updates and transfer... No idea what could be the cause of the problem, it would indeed be the java plugin? and how to solve?

    It turns out that it was a problem with the router/modem, nothing related to malware. I did not know before, but my phone could not also download new applications or updates and a friend's computer had the same exact problems once connected to the network wireless home.

    Not quite sure what caused her but restarted the modem and the router and everything works again.

    Thanks for your help anyway, if tried my phone earlier, maybe I would have thought it more early then

  • After downloading and installing Firefox 8, I am unable to use it.

    I use a connection by modem and Windows XP. A dialog box appears when I try to use Firefox which says that I have to restart the computer to complete a previous update of Firefox. I rebooted at least 6 times, but nothing has changed.

    If there are problems with the implementation at day then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to remove all remaining files.

    Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

    Uninstall your current version of Firefox if possible.

    • Do not remove the data of a personal nature when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.

    Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • It is important to remove the Firefox program folder to delete all the files and make sure that there is no problem with the files that were the remains after uninstallation.

    Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

    Hello, you can have malicious software on your computer. Please, try the following steps:

    1. Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    2. then go to firefox > addons > extensions and where there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
    3. Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to ensure that adware is not present in other parts of your system as well.
