Firefox will not import bookmarks, etc. of the opera

I have been using Opera (10.63 version) without problems for a long time. I decided to switch to Firefox, but wanted to import my favorites of the opera, etc... When I follow the directions to do - file > import > Opera > next - I am presented with an empty window, indicating that there is nothing I can import. The help article indicates that there should be a series of choices presented here, given that if I chose Internet Explorer.

How can this be corrected?

Importing bookmarks and other data from opera

Check and tell if its working.

    Hello

After update for drivers AMD 13.1 on my 5770, Firefox will not launch; It doesn't, however, appears in the Task Manager. I want to emphasize that it will boot into Windows safe mode; When I opened it in safe mode, I used this time to deactivate all plugins, modules, extensions and created a new profile. This did not help. I also tried launching Firefox in its safe mode and had no luck with that either.

I encountered this problem once before, when trying to upgrade to an earlier version. I think I was moving from 12.1 to 12.4, but I'm not 100% sure of that. In the end, my solution was then to retrograde back to my previous driver. The steps mentioned in the previous paragraph has not helped at that time, not do a complete reinstall.

  • I've added another email from my computer address, but firefox did not import bookmarks for the new email address

I have firefox as my default browser (formerly, it was internet Explorer), and I use a total access earthlink as my sign-in home page and e-mail. I've added my wife profile to this computer, and during this procedure, bookmarks for their account are also imported. But when connect us with access, home page appears correctly for his profile of earthlink but firefox bookmarks continue to flow upward with my favorites and the toolbar instead of Siena. I don't understand why firefox is not recognizing the new profile with the correct bookmarks.

Oops, I skipped something. To copy the Favorites of your wife of the PC to the laptop, you can use the export function.

    (1) export bookmarks in Firefox on the PC: Firefox bookmarks export to a HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks

    (2) copy this file to the laptop (for example, USB flash drive, by e-mail, or however is convenient)

    (3) import file HTML code in Firefox on the laptop: import bookmarks to an HTML file

Please note: in the knowledge base, you will also see references to a backup/restore process. Do not use backup/restore to combine different sets of bookmarks as it does a thorough cleaning before restoring. Only use import/export to combine bookmarks.

  • Firefox will not import all of the favorite Internet explore

All my favorites Internet Explore will not transfer on Firefox. I already tried all of the suggestions:

    • import from internet explore
    • Export Favorites to internet explore then import into firefox

Only half of my favorites are passed to firefox. Very frustrating.

If there are problems with importing IE bookmarks in Firefox, then export favorites in Internet Explorer to a HTML file and import this file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

If you don't have the menu bar in Internet Explorer, and then right-click on the toolbar above to activate the menu bar.

    • Export Favorites in Internet Explorer to a file (bookmarks.html) HTML:
      File > import and export
    • Import HTML file in Firefox:
Bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > import bookmarks HTML

I run on Windows 7 64 bit. I have the most updated version of Firefox. I run Adblock Plus, NoScript, and Greasemonkey as addons. Note that disabling of all persons does not solve the problem: only signature of my Google account.

It's a very interesting discovery. A few people have reported this. But we thought it was Google break this page purposely because they intend to remove this special Firefox search page. They think it's too old and want people to upgrade to the most recent. But I'm still not sure why being connected to Google breaks this page (and signing patches), I believe that Google is here at fault and must update the code on this page.

The new search page Google for Firefox is:

    topic: Home

This is a special page that is integrated into the Firefox browser. That's why he has a weird Web site address that does not resemble the normal sites that use http://www., .com, .net, or. org.

  • Firefox will not open at all, after the last update (13.08.2015).

After the update (40.0.2 @ 13.08.2015) just used Firefox open. The process is visible in the Task Manager, but does nothing. no window. JUST. NOTHING. It works only in safe mode or when ran as administrator. I tried other computers from home too. Same thing.

    How to fix?

Try a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.

  • Firefox will not load https pages. gives the security warning and will not accept an exception.

I had problems with Firefox and some sites for about a year, and it is located in my laptop. I have no problems when using my desktop at work or my dad's cell phone in his house. Some sites simply returns a page of text style; no html. Other sites give me a security certificate warning and FF will not accept an exception for this site, either by clicking the button or manually enter the site as an exception. Tonight, GOOGLE will not load again! Why, it's trying to load on an https server, I don't know, however. Several other sites have also begun does not not and are also trying to load it on a secure server.

Use Kaspersky, AVAST 2015, ESET, BitDefender or Microsoft family safety? These are among the most popular security programs which have a function to intercept your Internet connections and filter your traffic. When it's a secure site, in order to be able to decrypt and inspect your communications, the software must present a false certificate for Firefox. Sometimes, the software is not able to configure Firefox for this, or if you use the function of Reset of Firefox, the trust is broken and needs to be put in place again.

Unfortunately, the same symptoms can appear with some malicious software.

If you look at the second half of the post of Philipp, you see where you can check the section 'From' the certificate. This usually allows to identify the culprit. Can you take a look and report what you find?

  • Firefox will not pages, and none of the steps in the section support help. I need a real person to help. Reset, reloading, Proxy, Firewall...

I went through all the bandages above after receiving the following message "unable to connect".

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.msn.com.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

I reset, I checked the proxy (for no), I checked the firewall (enabled for FF), I uninstalled/reinstalled, I ran malware check (negative). I'm at my wit's end because I NEED FF for applications work which will not come through IE because of the policy of the company. I need serious help or I'm screwed.

FF worked perfectly up until a week ago. Now, it starts on the homepage of FF but goes no further, even in safe mode. What gives?

    I uninstalled Chrome, same.

Hello, normally these problems are caused by a security/firewall software which does not recognize and therefore blocks the new versions of firefox. • Why Firefox will not open a form on the existing web page

Using Firefox, I go to a web page, and on it, there is a button to click for a contest entry. By clicking on the button should open a form (not a new web page) to fill. Nothing happens. It worked for me in the past, I entered this contest everyday until last Friday (11/22). Saturday (11/23), it wouldn't work.

I contacted the website and they claim that everything is working well and they tried it on multiple web browsers, with no problems - it works correctly.

I tried on several browsers, with the same result - no form to complete.

The sounds that you block or JavaScript $('.col').addClass ('phase2'); to enter the phase2 or there is a problem with the CSS that would make this visible form once you have clicked on the button to enter the phase2.

It's weird that it happens in other browsers as well, and that startup the computer Safe Mode has no effect.

You can try to reset (power off / on) of the router.

You can delete all data stored in Firefox with a specific area through "Forget this Site" in the context menu of a history entry ("" history > view history "or" view > sidebar > History "") or via the subject: permissions page.

Using "Forget this Site" will delete all data stored in Firefox in this area as bookmarks, cookies, words of past, cache, history, and exceptions, so be careful and if you have a password or other data from this area you don't want to lose so take note of these passwords and bookmarks.

You can't recover from this "forget" unless you have a backup of the files involved.

It has no lasting effect, so if come back you on such a 'forgotten' site, then the data of this Web site will be saved once more.

Do a check with some malware malware, analysis of programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Hey guys! My brothers and sisters have decided to play a trick on me and changed my computer to the front of a week time (panic ensued). I changed it to the current date, 07/30/2104 21:18 (at time of writing), and now Firefox will not trace of my story. Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Do not use an uninstaller to third parties as part of this process. This could permanently delete your Firefox profile data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Please report to say if this helped you!

    Thank you.

If Firefox detects that the places.sqlite database is corrupted then Firefox can create a new database file and import bookmarks from a JSON backup that does not contain the most recent bookmarks (a new JSON backup is created when you run Firefox for the first time on a day), then you may lose the bookmarks in such a case.

You can check for problems with the database places.sqlite file in the Firefox profile folder.

  • Firefox will not display on the screen even though with Process Explorer, I see active Firefox.exe but no CPU usage

I use Firefox as default browser v10.0.2 on Dell XPS8300 Intel Core i5 and Windows 7 Ultimate and Compaq Presario CQ57 IO IO Intel Core i3 and Windows 7 Home. More frequently on the (approximately 90% of attempts) that Dell (50% of attempts) Firefox will not display on the screen when I click the icon. Cannot display other programs when it happens. I expressly say display because I believe that Firefox has started. To work around the problem, I installed Process Explorer on both machines and launch this program first, then click on the Firefox icon. When the problem occurs I see process Firefox.exe in the list of processes; some CPU consumed but, then, no CPU activity. If I click on the Firefox icon, yet another process opens in the list of processes, but with the same answer - some consumed CPU and then no CPU activity. If I have 2 processes running and kill the process from the 1st, the 2nd poster and then everything is normal. If I do not open it treat a 2nd, but kill the 1st process then click the Firefox Firefox is displayed and all then is normal. This problem has occurred since the original on the two new machines installation. I have updated the video drivers on both computers.

OK, let's see if we can solve this problem and make it work for you!

First of all, if you start Firefox in safe mode (restart your computer first, then when you open Firefox, hold down the SHIFT key) it starts more reliable? This is usually caused by a defective module. If this does not help, then restart Firefox, go to the Firefox, then add-ons button and disable your extensions one by one until you find the troublemaker.

Also, try to update to Firefox 11, it has several bug fixes that might make life easier here.

Just as a few troubleshooting steps base to ensure that we have all the bases covered,
Run all Windows updates, install all required service packs, etc.

Update all of your plugins (Flash, Java, etc.): http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/.

Download and install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/. This check allows that there is no virus on your computer, causing problems. You can uninstall this program after having cleaned the infections.

    Hello

You really need a little more information such as operating system, memory, etc.

Usually a mistake like this happens because a background process is running and interfere with the available RAM, not enough virtual memory (Windows), drivers of HW obsolete or just an incomplete installation.

Or, one of the biggest problems is add-ons in internet browsers.

Alternatively, another problem of Lightroom, no sufficient permissions on the directory where you import image files.

Please provide a little more information.
