Firefox will not start even after uninstal and reinstal

I was using Firefox normally. I shut it off for awhile then I would never open again. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it did not fix the problem. I deleted the program files and profile records and reinstalled again... same thing. When I run it, the rotation slider works for awhile then goes back to the arrow shape. I have no more details to give.

Thanks to Cor - el, that put me in the right direction. My problem wasn't with any security system, but with software that has been installed in my computer without my consent. I found it through all the applications in the window settings and programs. The culprit is "Interenet optimizer" (named exactly like this). After uninstalling this guy, my Firefox started without any glitch.

Can you please try to install Adobe Application Manager of http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.

If this does not work then the safest course would be to remove all Adobe Creative Software using the uninstaller programs located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.  This should then remove the Adobe Application Manager folder also within public services.  Once the software is completely uninstalled and Adobe Application Manager is deleted, then you should be able to reinstall it from https://creative.adobe.com/.

  • After downloading and installing an update of safety about an hour ago, firefox will not start

After going online this morning, with my firefox browser, a box came say a security update was available and must be downloaded and installed. This has been done without apparent problem. At the end of the update, a note came up saying that the update should come into service after restarting my computer. What I've done. The computer started normally, but after clicking on the firefox icon, the program is not started. My computer is using Windows XP Service Pack 3.

  • Firefox crashed on me, and even after diagnosis and reinstalling, still will not work. Help!

In the Middle doing some research, Firefox crashed. When I tried to restart it, a page came which was labeled as Mozilla Firefox, but it quite resembled what I normally see. I have been unable to actually access the page because of the "Rainbow death wheel' and had to force quit. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox and got the same result - a unfamiliar-looking page that could not be accessed and required a force quite.
