Firepower ASA Web Proxy services

I was wondering is it possible to configure the web proxy http and https on the SAA with services of firepower?

Kind regards

Caesar

He inspects inline http and not as a proxy server.

We have limited how much we can do with https because from the version current (5,4) we cannot SSL decryption on the modules of firepower.

If you ask about the firepower modules itself, it is adjustable to use a proxy server for its external communication.

  • Cisco WSA: Is it possible to use the web proxy in transparent mode without WCCP router?

    Hello!

I would like to use Cisco WSA as a web proxy in a transparent manner (without any configuration of client web browsers), but I do not have a WCCP router. So, is it possible?

    If so, how?

    Thank you

    Stephane Walker

    Hi, Stéphane

The only alternative to WCCP is ACB (the policy-based routing). With a simple configuration on the router, you can redirect traffic defined also interesting by the WSA access list. On the ASO you must configure transparent mode (security-> Web Proxy Services-> the settings of-> Mode Proxy: Transparent). You should also make sure proxy listens on port 80 and HTTPS proxy is enabled (on port 443) If you want to redirect HTTPS traffic as well.

    Cisco router configuration example

    !
access-list 110 permit tcp any any eq www
    !
    proxy-redirect allowed route map 10
    corresponds to the IP 110
    set ip next-hop xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    !
    interface ethernet0/1
    proxy-redirect IP policy route map
    !

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP address of the proxy in such a case and access-list 110 sets web traffic (HTTP-TCP/80) also interesting.

The biggest drawback of this solution is the lack of troubleshooting. If the proxy will go down because some reason router will keep redirecting traffic causing the cutoff of internet access.

Cisco routers out material should also have an option to configure policy routing based.

  • Modify the web proxy server to vCenter server

    Hello

I installed the vCenter server on a virtual machine that is present at the top an ESXi host in my vSphere environment. The operating system installed on the virtual computer is Windows Server 2008. Now, I want to change the web proxy service on the vCenter server to allow the http connection. I'm following the steps in this guide:

    http://pubs.VMware.com/vSphere-50/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.VMware.perlsdk.pg.doc_50%2Fviperl_proggd_preface.2.1.html

However, the path specified in this guide: c:\Documents and Settings\AllUsers\Application Application Data VMware VirtualCenter

is not present in Windows Server 2008.

And the path that contains vCenter which is C:\Program Files\VMware\infrastructure\virtualcenter Server doesnot contain any proxy.xml file that needs to be changed.

I need help with this as to how to activate the connection http on the vcenter server.

    Thanks in advance.

Try to paste this path into the address bar in Explorer or in the command line. This is a hidden directory.

  • New demo WSA refusing traffic web proxy

I sent a S000V Web Security Virtual Appliance with a demo license all default configurations using the quick start guide.

It has only the M1 192.168.1.100 interface.

I configured my proxy LAN PC for 192.168.1.100:3128 and once again settings for port 80.

When I configure the proxy LAN PC then my access to the internet breaks.  Chrome says ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED, Firefox says that the proxy has refused the connection.

Where can I start to make this work as a web proxy explicit?

    Thank you

    Hi Tod,

Your tests are accurate and don't indicate that the WSA is able to connect outbound to the Internet.

The error 'ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED' seen on the browser probably indicates that the ASO is not listening for traffic on port 80 or port 3128.

Is that you could run the netstat - - of WSA CLI?

    • It should help us by checking if WSA is listening on port 3128 and/or port 80

    (1) if netstat shows that ASO doesn't listen on port 80 or port 3128 then:

    • Access the GUI > network > Interfaces > ensure that ' separate routing for Management Services: "is not checked
    • Access the GUI > Security Services > Web Proxy > click "Edit settings" > check to see if you get any page acknowledgement of reception and port 3128 & 80 listed
    • If the above two steps look good, then the tail the logs of the proxy on WSA to see if there are errors (see steps below)

    (2) if netstat shows that WSA is listening on port 3128/80 or so:

    • The proxy logs should help us understand if the proxy is rejecting connections. Please "tail" newspapers of the proxy to check if there are errors

The tail measures the proxy logs:
    -------------------------------------------

    1. Connect to the WSA CLI over SSH
    2. Use the command: tail, then press "Enter".
    3. Select the journal with "Type: Default Proxy Logs.

  • Web - REST service reference

I have a REST GET service that supports p1 and p2 as a parameter and returns a base line. I am trying to build the web service reference. {I select REST as the webreference and then give it a meaningful name and attachment of the URL with the URI suffixed (2 settings) for example http:xx.xx.xx./xyz/customer_number/{customer}/salesrep_number/{salesrep_number}, no proxy and I select the name of the GET, JSON, no output basic authentication method. Now I have 2 parameters - salesrep_number and customer to define and try to run a test and he complains not FOUND, are not just URI syntax since it is what has been set in the RESTFUL Web service and it works from the workshop/Restful SQL service but fails under References webservice under shared components. Any help is appreciated.

    Hi P.T.

You mentioned 'he doesn't like the character '.' at the end.' -What exactly do you mean by "it"?   Just to be clear, you don't need to modify the RESTful Service module that you defined under SQL Workshop > Services RESTful - which must remain in its URI template using {client}.  The & nom_element. I already mentioned the syntax is specifically designed for the URL you set in shared components > a Web Service reference.

Lets try this - take a look at the example of Service default RESTful, oracle.example.hr, installed in your workspace under SQL Workshop > RESTful Services.  In this module, you will see a empsec / {empname} example.

    1. If you test this example with the button 'Set Bind Variables' and provide a valid employee of the KING name in the value field, click on test to make sure that you managed to get the JSON result.  Take note of the URL generated for this test.
    2. Now access your application and create a web service reference based on this particular example, through shared components > Web Service References > Create.
    3. When executing step by step through the wizard, set the URL to the empsec / {empname} example, but replace {empname} with & EMPNAME. for example http://hostname/services/hr/empsec/&EMPNAME.
    4. Now, run the Wizard Page, and then select form > form report on Service Web-> step through the wizard, selecting the web reference service that you created in step 4 and click Next until you reach the last step of the wizard, where you will then click on create to complete.
    5. Change the page created, and then run the wizard to create a new item and create a new item of type page text field, with the name EMPNAME - to correspond with the binding reference variable in your URI.
    6. Run this page, enter KING in the text field and click on submit.  The region of results on the page should then be filled with the JSON result returned by the web service.

If you can get this example to work, you will be able to compare the empsec / {empname} example with your own, which should hopefully help identify all differences that may ask questions.

    Kind regards

    Hilary

  • Is it possible to secure a Proxy Service to the level of functioning of OSB 11 g?

    I have a web service (for example, Server1) that including 2 operations: method1, method2.

And I have defined 2 users to the Weblogic domain: consumer1, consumer2.

The consumer1 can access Server1.method1 () only. and consumer2 can only access the Server1.method2 ().

I know that I can put the safety of service level in the tab 'Security' of a proxy service.

But can I set the security to the level of operaton as above description?

    Thanks in advance!

You can go to the Security tab, and then the message of access control, all operations will be listed for each operation add a user/role as needed. To do this, you should, however, a security policy (auth.xml just polished predefined enough.)

  • access to the original inside the proxy service message

I have the proxy (serviceType = Web Service, WSDL) service that is available to the client endpoint and I want to record the incoming message to the file on the disk. However, I want to persist any incoming message exectly (at the byte level) as it was sent by the sender (so with the envelope).
Inside of the proxy service I have access to variables such as header, body etc. However, they are not good for my purpose because they differ from the corresponding parts of the original message. For example xmlns:soapenv = namespace "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" in the original message
defined only at the level of the envelope and not the header or body. But in the header and body available inside the proxy service variables they (namespaces) are visible. Mayby there are more differences, but this one is visible at a time.
It is therefore possible to access (in order to save it) original message somehow? Any magical variable? Or mayby there is a way of saying the osb to be persisted (incoming query) in file? (it would be enough for me (of course I need file name).) I manage file by myself more far away).
    All advice appreciated

If you choose the type of service that WSDL based or service of any SOAP, then OSB motor deconstruct the incoming SOAP envelope and complete parts of the envelope (header, body etc) to automatically correct context variables. This occurs before the flow of messages of proxy service is initiated, so you can't do anything. In the proxy service, you will receive the deconstructed only SOAP message.
If you wish to record the exact message that has been received by the OSB, then change the type of service to (or create another proxy service in front of the existing proxy) type Messaging with text or binary content. Or you can also choose AnyXML service type, in which case the incoming SOAP envelope will be available inside variable $body in mail flow.
