Firewall does not block the pseudonyms

My problem is exactly that. I have windows Vista Home Basic and aol 9 1 vr. no probs with internet explorer. uninstalled and reinstalled aol doz times. When I use my pseudonyms I get to aol, but cannot access all sites and lost my favorites.  Yet when I log in as a guest, I can use my pseudonyms and retrieve my favorites and access all the sites.  I ran macfee and they found and quarantined a virus.  I disabled the windows firewall and re-installed aol and went straight to aol and had no problems to access the sites and all my favorites.   used for one hour, signed. went back an hour later and found the same problem when I signed. no access to aol not only sites of favorites.  then as guest active windows firewall and I'm here.  can someone help me thanks

Hi towbar19,

This issue sounds like it is linked in the name of the screen; You can follow the steps mentioned below to refine the question:

1. open Windows Firewall by clicking the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking Security, and then click Windows Firewall.

2. in the left pane, click on allow a program through Windows Firewall.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3. Select the check box next to the program (AOL) , you want to allow, and then click OK.

Note: You allow a program through the firewall of windows only if you trust that particular program.

Before allowing a program through the firewall, make sure you understand the risks involved. For more information, see What are the risks of allowing programs through a firewall?

If the problem persists, please contact AOL for more help
