    Hello

It is possible that these are false positives, but I didn't.

Have you run Malwarebytes, MRT, and UnHackMe gives you all the options? Can you do that in Mode safe?
Can you get online in Mode safe mode with networking and try online Scans? No tool for a deletion will probably be
Download them all. You can also try SpyBot and SuperAntiSpyware. There are also other tools on the RootKit
    You can use the list.

Below must be carried out if necessary AFTER all others above have been tried.

    SpyBot - free

If you keep SpyBot you will need to set the SDSB Service Manual and STOPPED and do not use TeaTimer-

I recently bought a Tablet HP 8 5901 flow.  She has Windows 8.1 on it.  I would like to install on it's free anti-virus software, but there are so many 'out there' that I don't know which one is better for this model of HP Tablet.  Therefore, I'm looking for a recommendation about which one would be a good choice for this tablet.

  • What is the prevalence of viruses, malware, etc., to be hidden and undetectable by anti-virus software?

    • As before, when my computer when my computer has been infected, I get a svchost.exe error, repeatedly, whenever I restart the computer. The infection has been discovered that the last time by my anti-virus software, because it was hidden.  It was a computer expert on this forum who told me my computer was infected by svchost.exe repeated error messages that I received.  I ran my Avast software, anti-malware software from MSFT Security Center, Win Defender, etc. this time, and it has detected no infections.  (Yes, I know what to do to pass this message means not necessarily my computer is infected, but the tech guy said that it is likely, given that the error message appeared on several occasions).  How detect and destroy the virus/malware hidden, etc?
    • Also, if anyone can answer another question... I was told that it is not recommended that I have two programs of anti-virus software, which I do - Win Defender and Avast (I guess they may conflict).  I tend to want to keep Avast, but would like to know if I have to keep Win Defender instead, because it is a Win a Win system program.  If I've got this me getting rid of one of them, is it recommended that I both uninstall and then reinstall one of them?

A person help would be appreciated!

    Thnx, Dharma

WHAT I HAVE: Win XP Media Center, MS Office 7 Professional (used at home), IE8, Outlook 7, HP w / 32-bit dual core processor, latest version of Avast & Win Defender, Srvc Pack 2 and 3 (although I know that I don't need 3 because I have not upgraded to Win 7, but it won't let me uninstall it!) and regularly updates Win.

PS Please ask questions if you have, before you answer, so it will be less likely that I'll get the wrong answers that don't relate directly my questions! (Can say you that has already happened?  (LOL).

You pouvez have a type of rootkit of malware infection.  Rootkits can transform and change of identity on your OS (and are difficult to detect and remove) and many computing professionals recommend a reinstall of the operating system in order to ensure that the rootkit is removed.

Follow the suggestions in the Brian - post.  The link that he provided is an excellent reference.   If you have a rootkit, TDSS Killer or one of the other programs listed pourrait be able to remove it.

    You can also:

You can get free help in the removal of malware from MS Support here: http://supportservices.microsoft.com/support/services/virus_malware_removal

If you are in North America, you can call the MS Support to 866-727-2338 for help with infections of virus and spyware.

For international information see your subsidiary local technical support site.

Or get assistance from Avast at: http://www.avast.com/support

You have SP3 on your Win XP OS and if you plan to switch to Win 7 make sure that your processor and RAM will manage Win 7... with your history of technology issues a reformatting/clean install of Win 7 would be a good idea.  Because of the possibility of conflicts, I do not recommend using Windows Defender with Avast or any other resident AV program.  Suggest uninstall you Windows Defender in Control Panel.  MSE and several other AV programs require the removal of Windows Defender in XP (or disabling the Defender in Vista and Win 7).

You cannot save your programs - a clean installation wipe everything from the hard drive.  Programs need to be reinstalled (they cannot be copied or saved) - and you probably wouldn't do anyway because there is a good chance that some of the infected files can reside in these same programs.  The ONLY way to avoid this is to get your hands on a real Windows Vista Installation disc, so we can attempt a repair system/upgrade where your programs will be preserved (and we don't know yet if that will completely solve the problem of infection but it probably will restore the functionality at least for a certain period of time).

Sorry for the bad news, but that's just how it is.

  • How to get rid of the virus Windows 7 activation key product? (Solved)

Yesterday my laptop ran fine, I was connected to the House of a friend playing a game online with no problems of virus said. Then when I take my computer laptop home and run it a strange thing happened on start up. He said that the program 'autochk' is not found while he was going to skip this program and continue the startup of Windows 7.

Then I logged in and as soon as I connected the screen said there have been changes to the Windows system and shortly after that pops up another window saying that my Windows 7 was not authentic and that I need to provide my product key to reactivate. I do not give him the key because I knew it was a virus attack, so I do not suspect that I caused the problem to get worse (at least not yet).

The strange thing I noticed when using my laptop, it's that when I bring up the Task Manager (I used this to try to find any unusual programs running) my username and one other 'user' unspecified wrote in Japanese, Chinese or Korean (I can't tell the difference on a computer). The strange thing is that I have no problem, most of the programs running and in fact have little or no consecutive effects, but I don't want to let this virus stick long enough to prove me wrong.

I used several programs antivirus and anti-malware, including my own purchased CA security, as well as Trojan Remover, Malwarebytes and Windows security scanner to find the virus said and NOTHING turned up. I fear that this program that has infected my computer could steal personal information so I have really limited my use of games and whatnot, I'd be worried about this information? If so I would like to know ASAP if I change just in case such information. Finally, I'll give you my card to my system if necessary below to help solve this problem. Thanks in advance to all who help, I really appreciate it.

    System Specs:

    Model: Lenovo B560
    Hard drive: 250 GB
    RAM: 4 GB
OS: Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition

EDIT: I forgot to add that I do not have a background on my laptop nor can I ask my screen and it says in the lower right corner Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine. I also cannot display my internet connection or battery life in the status bar down in the lower right and can not use my laptop built in touchpad.

I actually ended up having a restore point system a few days before I got the virus, so I ended up just to help that, since I don't have many files added/deleted my account. In this situation, it is what I would recommend to anyone else that it will save you a lot of time and effort. If for some reason you can't use a Hitman Pro system restore point allows you to find the virus (I ended up using that before I decided to use the system restore). This will fix not damage to your computer, but if you want to ensure that it is safe to do something before you use so the anti-virus software, I described previously, he was the only of what I have listed who found the virus.

@ Sathish S V Thanks for the help despite the fact that I don't end up using your advice, I was surprised and confused at all first when the virus struck but then figured out on my own since it took time to get a response then I needed to solve this problem as soon as POSSIBLE.
