• Installation of Windows 7 help - HP Pavilion 2800

  Hello

  I'm having quite the challenge with installing Windows 7.  I have a HP Pavilion dv2800 (2842se) (Vista 64 - Bit), which required a new hard drive.  Today, I installed a new SATA 320 GB 5 400 rpm device and booted up using the Windows 7 installation CD (bought a copy of the sales at retail).

  I can't past the second screen, which indicates that Setup cannot locate the correct drivers (I guess that each of them, but the first error specifically referenced the CD/DVD device driver).

  I did the install in a folder of drivers that I ripped out the original machine, which had Vista.  Who has not identified.

  I've rooted through forums and looked for HP, but it doesn't look like device drivers are displayed for this machine for a new installation of Windows 7 (not satisfied with this answer).

  Anyone know what I can do to get the drivers for this computer (where?) and allow Windows 7 to proceed with the installation?

  Any help will be appreciated.

  I made a mistake and downloaded the x 86 version for a 64-bit machine.  I'm now enjoying the "copy windows...... expanding windows files install has screen.

  (a) open a command run and first try to unregister the DLL/file

  (b) regsvr32 /u appmgmts.dll

  (c) then on the command run again trying to re - save these files:

  Be sure also to that this service is running in the services control panel:

  (a) click on run

  The only reference I found to this error are intended for Windows users, but it seems to point to an authorization number.  I recommend creating a new administrator account and repeat installation under this account.  It seems as if the installation program cannot write the serial number during installation information.  A new administrator account resets permissions so should not encounter the same problem as your current user account.

  2 delete the files 'googlemap.html' and googlesearch.html

  IPhoto no longer crashes, site does not work, but it doesn't bother me too much.

  Deletes two files "googlemap.html" and the googlesearch.html of iPhoto application bundle prevents the JavaScript running inside and causing the accident.  To access the files inside the iPhoto application select it in the Finder and ctrl-click on it. Then use the command "Show Package Contents" from the menu.  Open the content subfolder and then resources.

  Do not try this fix without making a copy of the iPhoto application before trying to delete the two files of the entire application.

  Once the download is complete, close all open programs and browsers.
  Now run MicrosoftFixit50202.msi and choose it's default mode.

  When the Fixit has finished, open automatic updates in Control Panel. Do not restart the system, but even if you have been invited to.
  Set the update option for " download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them ." Click on apply, then OK.
  Close the automatic updates.
  Reboot the system now.

  Doing the above will force the automatic updates to download all the updates that are missing.
  When the Update icon, click it.
  Please note that updates are available and their numbers of KB.
  Close the window.
  For now, do installation No updates until what you have posted to those to whom they are.

• All the data disappeared after the installation of updates! Help!

  Last night I installed updates KB961371, 973346 KB and KB 890830 for Vista Home Premium and they seemed to have been settled... my computer turns off fine. But when I started today and connected to my usual user, I got a pop-up message from the tool bar by saying "your user profile was not loaded correctly, you have been logged on with a temporary profile, cnanges do you will be lost when you log out." Check the log of the events for more information or contact your administrator." I then found that all my data was away from all my files (music, photos, Documents, analyses)... everything was gone. I then logged out of my user every day and in my admin to have a snoop around and all the data disappeared from there too. While in admin I also looked in the update section to see if the updates have not been installed correctly, but he said that they had been installed successfully.

  I then rebooted, as I thought that it might help, but everything remained the same.

  After the reboot, I clicked through 'my computer' and hard the news here on the disc wrote I have 89 GB of 147 GB free, which I think is consistent with the amount of data I have stored. This made me think that the data is always there somewhere, but I can't access it at all thanks to my user every day or my administrator.

  As far as I can see, all the programs that I installed myself (such as Skype, open office software for my printer hp) are all present, but some of the shortcuts are out of the office. Also, when opening, they "behave" as newly installed programs. for example: Open Office writer guide me through a license agreement and registration rather than simply open a new document, and also firefox behaved in a way similar "new".   In short, the system "behaves like new", remembers none of my settings etc, but it is still a my programs installed and most of all, I can't access any of my data! I have a Toshiba Equium P200-178 (use vista Home premium service pack 1 32-bit), I use AVG anti virus (8.5) and Ad-aware software anti spyware. These are updated every day and I run scans on a regular basis (last analysis aware ad probably about a week ago) so I'm not sure it's associated virus.
