  You just solved your problem. If not all, basically everything. You need 64-bit installation files for your 64-bit computer.

  You need two installation files - for extracting .exe and .7z the program itself. These two files have 64 in the name of the file if each is to be used in a 64-bit system.

  Thanks for the reply with a lot of very useful details to work on troubleshooting.

  If I gathered your data correctly, what we have are files that read with a delay or stop but not offers the possibility to render timeline to get a fluid reading for them. Line color of the project made indicator (green or no coloured line) it's the best possible overview for them. So, at this point, we want to make the distinction between a corrupted file and a preview of the project. Assuming that this is a problem of preview only...

  What we will do is force these problem files to restore and then see if the rendered script files read less LAG and stops.

  Right click on each file problem, select Time Stretch, and in the Time Stretch dialog box, replace speed to 99%. OK to get out of there. Each file must have an orange on line now. Press enter on the main keyboard on the computer or the Render button above the timeline. When the timeline is rendered, the orange line will be green. Any improvement in reading now?

  The foregoing has worked in at least another case similar to yours.

• 'Reader' will only display a PDF file for a second, then here down the PDF file.

  This happens at all, even that current audio files windows comes with in the folder 'Sample Music', I tried those too to nothing does not.

  I am at a total loss. I'm new to first pro, but these are generic file formats, so I don't think that the problem is with the file.   I had earlier tried to do, but it still doesn't work. Then the company we use for large it projects, suggested pointing where media cache files are saved to a new location, excluding my sync account (which is always saved on my hard drive) and a folder on the hard disk that has not been synchronized with the network. That seemed to fix finally!

• First Pro CC will not import the .mov files

  Problems with first Pro CC, I can't import. MOV files created with my Canon 6 d.

  If I try to import the files, I get a msg of error "File not supported" very generic.

  It is a new installation of first CC on a new computer. I was able to import them using first Pro CC on the old computer.

  QuickTime will play well these files on my new computer.

  Premiere Pro CS6 will import these files to the new computer.

  First Pro CC would open them well on my old computer.

  I don't know yet where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

  • new Mac Pro
  • 3 GHz 8-Core Xeon E5
  • 64 GB OF RAM
  • The files are on the G external drive - Tech Thunderbolt.

  Well, I uninstalled and reinstalled first CC and all works well. No idea what went wrong, but its working now.

  It seemed to me that the only way to achieve this would be to convert the VOBs created originally with first Elements of MGPE2 files extension .mpg and then re - import. There may be a way easier than what would be better.

• First Pro CC will not play audio video file

  I tried to edit videos recorded with Bandicam in first Pro CC. The video file itself is fine, when I play it in Windows Media Player all withdrew, but once that I get it into a sequence in first Pro CC despite it showing the audio track and turning the volume to maximum, there is no sound!
