  • Sell my mobile how disable activate my license so I can re - install on another computer?

I'm selling my laptop but want to take off my license & registered Win7 Ultimate 64 bit OS and then reinstall it on another machine. What is the path/steps to disable and then re-enable elsewhere? Or is there a number of licensed facilities, so it is not really important I can just wipe the hard drive? But then when I reinstall I'd get a moment difficult renewal? What should do?

    Thank you

SLMGR. VBS - PUK - simply uninstalls the key and put it in trial mode, it does not disable the license. You should always use the phone activation when you install the license on another machine.

  • By the policy of Lenovo, OEM license not activate the Office trial

I just bought my ThinkPad. It came with a 60 day trial of Office Professional 2007. Separately, I bought an OEM license on eBay. It is authentic, with the box, blank discs, printed cards and hologram. But the OEM license is rejected. I could not understand why until I read this thread, which is that Lenovo is blocking you in purchasing a license of their own.

I guess I could buy a retail version of Office Professional with the discs, but I didn't want to spend that much. I installed Open Office 3.0 and may simply stick with this free solution, even if I really feel like MS Publisher.

Any suggestions? The work of OEM license so I can uninstall the trial and borrow some Office 2007 OEM disks?

  • Reinstallation of Windows 7 with OEM license with an OEM license and the manufacturer's warranty expired

My hard drive starts to die, if I want to backup all my data and be ready in case it fails. One of the things on my list of verification is to ensure that I can reinstall Windows 7 if need be.

I don't have in my possession a Windows reinstallation disk, so I want to create a USB bootable for windows 7. The link to the .isos DIgital River that I use to create my bootable USB key doesn't work for users with OEM licenses. Very annoying, but I can legally get a Dell reinstall drive instead. But Dell wouldn't send me reinstallation disks because my warranty with Dell expired.

The result of this is that if your a manufacturer guarantee expired, you can no longer reinstall windows on the same computer!

Dell says it is responsible for providing the relevant recovery media, including Windows used to do with the Digital River .isos, but who no longer work for people with Microsoft's Windows 7 OEM license. Microsoft says that it is the responsibility of Dell to provide its customers with the recovery media (disks to reinstall windows) in the first place. Personally, I'm not interested in the blame game - I just want to have access to a recovery media so I have the option of legally re - install windows 7 in the future with my OEM license.

Can you help me with this problem? Thank you.

Downloads Microsoft removing the Digital River and replacing them with a non-functional tool are extremely boring.

If you can still start, update Dell backup and restore to the latest version:

Make a USB (older than 2012 systems) recovery or recovery external hard drive (more recent than 2012 systems):

Boot from it to the new hard drive and use it to reinstall. Recovery media is using earlier versions may not work on the new disks.

  • Can I transfer my OEM license on another computer and throwing away the old pc?

I have 2 old PC without any hardware in them with the product key OEM on top. I want to be legal even with not having not the money to keep buying more licenses just to stay legal. I transfer these keys on my computer principal in VMS (Virtual Machines) and used to test and evaluate and be legal or licensing die with these computers? If they do not die with these computers, just buy equipment for computers to bring back to life? I want that some virtual machines to evaluate/test/etc. Also, I believe I read that even installing the same licenses on computer 2 times (partitions) is illegal? How can this be good? If this is true, then, no wonder that Microsoft makes so much money and it goes so hacking on. I n my questions I've seen where to transfer the license to another PC and throw, stills activate, (stupid question) but making them legal with MS? : P

-Geek Windows - 7 is better that any OS I have and never HAVE!

A Windows OEM license cannot be transferred to another computer.  A virtual machine is considered to be a computer.  In addition, you can only install and activate one 1 copy of Windows on a single

  • You can use a Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit OEM license to reinstall a retail copy?

    Hello.

I currently have a HP machine with licensed Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I intend to back up, format and perform a new Installation.
I do have a HP OEM DvD and I wonder if I can use Vista Home Premium 64 - bit RETAIL COPY my sister to reinstall my machine.
Basically, is it possible to OEM license for use on a DvD at retail?
    Thank you very much

    Hello

You can also use this method.

You do not have a Vista disc that came with the computer to reinstall with, you should have a recovery Partition to do.

Here is the HP Compaq information on how to use the recovery partition to put your computer in a new State.

You press F11 at startup or through their Recovery Manager.

It is all explained in this link.

PS You can also make your own this recovery Partition recovery disks.

  • You can use version for VM Windows OEM license

    1. can I use OEM version for virtual machine window.

2 in case I created a new copy and removed the old how it will affect license.
    3. If I want to create a new virtual machine by throwing an old can I use same OEM license
    Thanks in advance

Yes, you can use the OEM System Builder License in a virtual machine.

In what concerns by deleting and recreating a VM, I don't know to be honest, given the virtual machine itself is considered to be a computer and to move the license to a new virtual machine would be considered in the eyes of the LICENSE as another machine.

What I suggest do you after installing Windows 7 OEM in a virtual machine and activate it, you must create a snap shot of your active install. When you are ready to throw a virtual machine just back to the snapshop so it will look like new.

  • If the OEM license is tied to the BIOS, the BIOS can be updated without problems?

I think to update my Vista 64 bit on windows 7 laptop.  I was reading the Ant on the differences between OEM and full, and in a post, it said that the OEM license is tied to the BIOS serial #.  Is it a serial number of the equipment of a firmware #.  What would happen if you fast a new BIOS revision?

    Thank you

a preinstalled OEM SLP key should interact with the slic table in bios in order to activate itself. You can update the bios without negative consequences as long as you get the bios that is appropriate for your machine.

An OEM system builder license does not use the slic table.

Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:

    (A) OEM SLP: this key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with the special instructions isn't on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows 7 key leans on the motherboard and he sees special instructions and activates. (that's why you had no need to turn on your computer after you brought it home)

    (B) SLP COA: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side (or at the bottom, [or in the battery compartment]) of your computer. It is a valid product key, but must be used only in certain situations (for example, if the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone. (Note: all manufacturers that use the SLP OEM system are bound by contract to include a certificate of Authenticity sticker (COA), which has a COA SLP key, on the computer)

  • Can run simultaneously master coll and licenses CC Photoshop CS6?

I have CS6 master collection through my employer, installed and works on work and home machines.

But I know that will not improve anytime soon, so I signed up for a subscription to the CC Photoshop on my own behalf, because I need to be up to date with it. I have not installed anything yet, just registered and got confirmation.

So, how can I do, while both are at CS6? I guess that in June, when Photoshop CC comes out, it will come in its own directory, and both versions will run independently. But until then? Can the two licenses somehow be run simultaneously and if so, how?

    Hi Twenty_one,

Yes you can run Photoshop and Photoshop CC on the same machines when Photoshop CC was released on June 17, 2013.

Until then, you can run your subscription to Photoshop by clicking "This software license", if you disable your current serial number by clicking on "Help--> Deactivate.

  • Windows 7 OEM license, cloned the new hard drive.

I'm scratching my head on this one.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro with an OEM license.

Beyond December, my original hard drive started failing so I made a clone of Clonezilla and transferred to a new hard drive.  Since then, I have not been able to run Windows update and I regularly get a Windows is not real popup.  I checked the section properties and my computer Windows Activation of Windows is enabled.  I tried the site of verification but that sends me to a web page that does not seem to load correctly and 9/10 times.  When I managed to load and I downloaded the WindowsActivationUpdate tool, it gives me just a Setup 0xC8000247 error.  I tried returning my SLUI 3 product key and everything went through fine.  I checked various websites and people say that it must be good using a new hard drive, others say you can't and others are calling saying Microsoft and speak to someone.

Can I use my OEM license when transferring to a new hard drive?  Answer, what would be the next step?

Yes, you can use the same OEM license, because it's the same computer.

What you need to do is probably performing a new installation. Clone software tends not to provide the best results.

The old hard drive still works? You might try one last time to create a system image and restore it on the new hard drive:

How to pass Windows 7 to a bigger hard drive - books...

This of course would mean reinstall the old hard drive, create a system image and then restore it on the hard drive.

Another option is to perform a new installation using the OEM key.

Step 1: Download a copy of Windows 7:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

Step 2: Perform a custom installation, see Windows 7 section of the following article how to perform a custom installation:

How to: perform a customized Windows installation

  • Disc of Windows 7 64 bit System Builder will allow me to do a clean install using the supplied with any PC OEM license?

In the past, I bought a windows XP disk manufacturers Premium System home.

If there is a computer that does not have the recovery discs, I could reinstall the XP operating system and use the ORIGINAL OEM license to

    turn on the computer.

This is always the case with a copy of WINDOWS 7 Home premium 64-bit disk system integrators.

This disc will allow me to use the license OEM Original on any computer I do a clean install on If I

Have a WINDOWS 7 Home Premium license on those computers?

Its simpler just uninstall what you don't want, its going to be no different from a clean install. You can forget something on the left over registry entries, which is of no consequence and has not been since Windows 9 * days.

A destructive restore using the recovery disks, is a dry-cleaning facility / formatted.

And using the means of recovery disks then you can download the drivers from this manufacturer of PC

System builders, of the same version of fix disk can be used with your key, it is however attached to the first PC sound used on and subsequently cannot be used on another.

If you really want the win7 installation disc, you can download the ISO official that corresponds to the version you have the key to.

    Thank you very much.

Satellite M70 is old but good laptop and with the new drive HARD and clean OS preinstalled, it should work well. I had it a long time ago and if I m remembering well there connector SATA HDD SATA HDD can be used.

I think 750GB can be too much and I don t know if it will work OK. Used mine M70 with 320 GB of HARD drive.
You can test it, but please post comments.
    > Do to restore the operating system on the hard drive with the DVD created in the first round
You can use the original picture but if I m remembering well that old book has been delivered with the recovery disk (WXP Home) and I put t know what you have created.
    > OEM license allow this work, nor block the restoration
As far as I know, the license of the sticker belongs to the recovery image and you cannot use it for the activation of the operating system. If you use original recovery DVD that you got with your laptop you don t need. preloaded will be activated automatically.
