Flash 10.3.183.10 plugin crash, Solaris-11

Greetings,

I use a derivative of Solaris-11 (OpenSolaris), OpenIndiana build 151, on two separate machines.  The flash 10.3.183.10 plugin crashes when you try to use the following site:

https://support.Oracle.com/CSP/UI/Flash.html

It happens with firefox 6.0.2 and 7.0.1.  I suspect that to re-create this problem yourself, you need to register a name on the site (which is called "My Oracle Support"), because the accident happens like this:

" Visit ' https://support.Oracle.com ', click the 'Sign In' button, enter the username, password, click the 2nd 'Sign In' button. "  A small circular green arrow and a "loading" label, appear, and at some point, the page goes gray with little sad face, an icon in the form of lego in the Middle, and "The Adobe Flash plugin broke down." message below.  He's mentioned anything about a crash dump at this point.

I found a 'base' file in my home directory:

file-based $

kernel: 80386 Version 1, "plugin-down' of the ELF 32-bit LSB core file

$

Note that this site used to work perfectly on these systems, using firefox 6.0.2 and more early and with the plugin flash 10.3.183.7 and earlier versions.  I think that blocking it started after upgrading to 10.3.183.10, but when I went back to 10.3.183.7, the site still hangs.  I tried to empty the browser's cache and history clearing and also removed my directories $HOME/.adobe/Flash_Player/ and $HOME/.macromedia/ (where the settings and other things related to flash is cached).  I have also uninstalled/re-installed firefox & the tampon() flash, without any change in the accidents.

Oh, I should probably mention that both machines have nVidia GPU, but hardware acceleration is not in force since GNOME desktops have windows 'compiz' current Manager (I understand the faster reduction flash disabled, verified by watching the video attributes videos on Youtube).  And in fact if I connect a display on either computer and remote execution of firefox that displays now distance view X, the accident happens again - so it does not appear to be linked to the X server or GPU in this case.

Please let me know if there is more info that I can collect to help find the problem.

Looks like the 11.0.1.152 fixes this problem.

  • Is it possible to run flash applications in different containers-plugin?

I usually 3-4 open windows of firefox with several tabs in each window. There are at least 3 or 4 applications running at the same time flash. Thus, when an application crashes and plugin-container fails, I lose progress for each application. Now, I think, this opening a flash plugin-container for each flash application can help me with this. But I can't find any information how I can do it.

I do understand that there may be tons of flash content on each web page, and so it would be nice to have an option to run only selected app in different containers. Can I do now? Or I'll be able to do in the future? Otherwise it's ok, just sad =)

No, it currently is not possible and would not be without a significant overhaul of the plugin container architecture. My suggestion, keep Flash up to date, keep Firefox updated, and if you experience flash crashes, we can try to help you diagnose the.

  • Flash plugin crashing

    Hi all

For these last days, Adobe Flash has been crashing in Firefox. Sometimes I'll see a second or so before animation it crashes, but usually, I just see the message "crushed" like the screenshot on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/adobe-flash-plugin-has-crashed. On some pages, it's just empty where I know the Flash component must be.

From Firefox in SafeMode with plugins disabled does not help, although if I start * Windows * safe mode, Flash works fine.

Go to https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html and by clicking the check now shows me my version of Flash, but the animation that appears just below the button block (rasthaus screenshot).

I've done several complete uninstall/relocations of Flash and Firefox, including manually via C:\Users\username\AppData\Local and \Roaming and remove subfolders of Mozilla.

I am at a loss here, any help you can provide is appreciated.

    Greg

Hey gang, I actually thought about it--I had forgotten that I had changed my FF shortcut to always run the program in Compatibility Mode Windows 7 as a way to try to make it work with the online provider portal. I disabled mode of W7, and everything is working again now.

Thanks to all those who have begun to take a look!

  • Adobe Flash Plugin crashing!

Hi all! My adobe flash plugin keeps default! And never send the crash error report. Your tutorial did not work ethier. Please can anyone help solve this problem. I am running on Windows 7 and am unable update whatever it is (I don't have administrator privileges). Thanks - brandon

    Hi brandon_g,
My apologies for the reply later and happy holidays! When Flash crashes in Firefox, there are some troubleshooting steps that may be recommended to avoid that it doesn't happen.

However, in order to disable flash please click the Firefox Menu (three horizontal bar button):

    1. In the menu, click on Add ons
    2. Click on plugins on the page that opens
    3. Next to Shockwave Flash player, you can click on 'Always enable' and change to 'ask to activate '.
  • My Shockwave Flash for Firefox (and IE) plugin causes computer/browser crash & restart, but only for the worms. 10.2 +. 10.1 & below, no problem. Any difficulty?

I had this persistent problem of Shockwave Flash crash my system and causing an automatic my PC restart, as soon as I try to play flash videos (any browser, in fact). However, as long as I keep my flash to version 10.1 and not update it, it works fine. The problem is how long can I keep it like that until some future tweak of the same general Web site if flash sites that prevent work?

I want to know if there is a fix so that I can install future versions of the Shockwave Flash plugin and actually make it work so I don't have to use such an archaic version of the Flash more (gag, even if I say this, I again Flash, it's so awkward in any version, I wish websites would turn to some other standard videos already).

If anyone has an answer, please let me know. (My computer works on Windows XP with Firefox 12, either said by the way. Oh and I would love it if there was a way to get Firefox to work on the iPad, Safari is such a crude, childish browser, it has almost no Add-ons useful or features custom at all.)

I just noticed that, in the subject line of your message, you specify the ActiveX of Flash for IE version causes the same problem. I wonder if there could be a problem with your graphics card driver software. Have you checked the firmware updates?

  • I understand that you no longer support Adobe Flash player, you have another plugin for my games?

If you think that Adobe Flash player is not a suitable plugin, you have a suggestion for an alternative? I've been using Google Chrome, but I told myself that they will not prohibit Adobe as well. I play 'King' of games such as Candy Crush, as well as others, and I will not renounce my games. I tried looking for an alternative a few months ago because Adobe crashes every day, but I went to the wrong site and downloaded a virus instead. Any suggestion that you can give me would be great. Thank you for your time.

Everything you've read that Mozilla has declared no longer supports the Adobe Flash Player is incorrect. Mozilla supports still Flash but currently has all previous versions on a deadlock due to critical vulnerabilities. https://addons.Mozilla.org/Firefox/blocked/

Mozilla puts only versions of Plugins (and Extensions that are malicious software) which are serious security (criticism), as well as reasons of stability. Unfortunately just about every version of Flash player is on red list since December because feats experienced Sailor and in current versions of time.

Current versions of the plugin base of Flash player for Windows and Mac OS x are not listed but Linux version is due to Adobe not having an update still which is unusual. https://www.Adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html

As you can see Adobe has been busy trying to solve the exploits in their Flash Player at the last moment. https://helpx.Adobe.com/security.html#flashplayer

Regarding the Flash alternatives that may or may not work or partially according to the operating system and the site used are Unity Web Player, GNU Gnash and Lightspark.
