Flash and drop-down menus

I can't navigate the DW drop is frowned upon, I'm looking at the links to tutorials I've seen here. My question is, is one of them a better solution to use when your naviagtion descends on a Flash file? I did some tests and the Flash file covers them or makes go/output very agitated.

In addition, is the DW popup menu if evil use? Why wouldn't it be fixed they do not use a few versions if everybody says it? Thank you.

  • Frames and drop-down menus

Is there a way to enable a drop-down list created with DHTML overlap in another frame? I've set up my DHTML navigation in a frame across the top so when the user selects an option, it appears in the main frame. The only problem is that I have to adjust the size of the navigation bar to view the full menu down.

Thanks for everyone entered. I changed the design to get rid of the frames. I'm glad that I was starting just the site when I realized that the images were going to be a problem. I realized that I can use because of the need in my organzization for all the screen at 1024 X 768 resolutions

  • Flash drop-down menus

I am creating a site that has flash in drop-down menus that are sitting in the first row of a table. In the second row is a large graphical banner - the banner is different for each of the eight sections of the site.

I could put the banner in my menus and create 8 different files flash for menus, but this clearly isn't the way to do it. As I see it, I have two choices:

    1. find a way to easily win the menus drop "over" the chart. I played with the wmode = "transparent" setting but I can't seem to make it work. I publish my movie with a transparent window and then place it in the first row of the table. He stillpushes the second way to graph of line to the bottom of the page. I must be missing something.

    2. combine the menus and the graphic banner (my preference because it would allow me to make the banner look better with a touch of animation). I'd then 8 records and 8 versions of the menus... bad. Can I integrate a single file menu flash in 8 different flash animations so that the menus don't load only once. In addition, these inevitable changes are to be made to a single file.

    I'd appreciate your comments.

    Thank you
    Sam

    1. the file will occupy the dimensions, there an amovie of s, so the wmode service to make the background transparent.  You will probably need to put the Flash in a div which floats at the z above the table level, together with the transparent wmode.

    2. There are a variety of options.

You can create the menu as a separate swf and load it into each swf banner.  Which will result in a menu swf and some number of banner SWF.

You could have a menu-banner swf that dynamically load some image there on the page that it is.  You can use FlashVars to indicate what image load for this page.

You could do a little of both... have a menu swf and have a swf banner that loads the menu and load the image on the page it is on.

  • How can I disable the "hand-with-a-pen-icon" in the seizure, drop-down menus and check boxes boxes in IE 10?

How can I turn off the hand-with-a-pen-icon that appear in the entries of the form (for example, text boxes, drop-down menus and check boxes) in IE 10? I'm running updated Windows 7, 64-bit desktop with without a touchscreen. I have the Wacom tablet with a pen, but I disabled the handwriting feature in Windows.

And also how to disable query points that appear in the scroll bars in the browser? Sometimes the mark points will blink, then this hand-with-a-pen-icon appears between. It does not appear in other browsers or programs and its was not in IE 9.

-It is very annoying, especially when dealing with checkboxes and drop-down menus, I know never it is checked or not. --

I have not found all the settings for this in IE 10 settings or control panel.

    Same problem here.
I have w7 x 64 office services and tablet and writing are disabled.
However, I see the shit 'hand with a pencil icon' in all the check boxes and drop down menus.
It is not even recognizable on small boxes and is a total bore.
I run my desktop PC with w7 x 64 for over a year and the symbol appeared after I've upgraded to IE10.
I couldn't find an appropriate solution in the links provided in this thread, and I hope that it will be a good solution soon.
To give an idea, I downloaded 2 screenshots on my skydrive
    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=1C240C8A7B1412A2&ID=1C240C8A7B1412A2! 110 #cid = 1C240C8A7B1412A2 & id = 1C240C8A7B1412A2. 110

Meanwhile, I think that I found the real cause.
I had turned off the segue UI fonts during the day even when I updated to IE10.
Strange as appears only in IE10 I assumed it it was due to the update.
As explained in this thread that it is obviously a police problem well.
    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/IE/Forum/IE10-Windows_7/IE10-shows-square-blocks-on-every-dropdown-menu/068079a1-47AB-496a-8358-4391b564aaee
I still have not solved not satisfactory, but at least I now know the cause.

    IT FIXED:
to do my reading sharper, I had turned off cleartype according to http://www.davidjnice.com/articles/windows7_fonts.html
    I'm now setting replace to

"Segoe UI Symbol (TrueType)"="seguisym.ttf" and voila, the handwriting symbol in IE10 is gone again.

  • Drop-down menus are black, so that you cannot see your cursor

    original title: drop-down menus

Why some in the drop down menus are black so that you do not see the command until the cursor is on it.

Has made the checks for updates, no joy. Changed the theme of windows 7 to the classic, it worked and drop-down menus were visible. Changed back to windows 7, still OK.

  • Form original action jump to the third item on the drop-down menus, not the first.

I completed my form fields, with text and drop-down menus.

Finally, I added a 'Clear form' button, but on the menu drop-down, it goes on the third item on the menu, not the first, on my case, the first element is called '- select one -'

On the Options tab of the field for a drop-down list properties dialog box, you can select the default item. Any item is selected when the dialog box is closed, then will be what's on the field when the field is reset.

  • Drop-down menus and scroll bar does not work

I had a lap top 8 windows based perflectly until about a week ago, when I download updates for windows 8: when I started to scroll to the bottom of the window, as soon as I stopped by pressing my left click of the mouse, the scroll bar would automatically scroll to the top. I scroll down again and it automatically scrolls to the top of the page again. Similarly, this problem occurs with the help of the drop-down menus, it's not appear or deploy in a flash that won't let you point any option.

This is to occur with all the drop down menus: on internal programs as well as in the internet sites. Even the menus on this assignment window, refers to windows 7, as the first choice and I cannot change. The problem is the WINDOWS 8 and its updates.

    How can I fix?

  • My drop-down menus became distorted when I changed my computer screen to 125% and has not corrected when I changed to 100%. Help!

All my drop-down menus are distorted by the change, the menus and menus on my browser websites. The distortion is so bad that I can't read the menu or choose a selection from the menu without moving my cursor around and sometimes not even then. The menu items appear extremely small or huge and images are too distorted.

I re-installed FF 26.0 just beta to see if that makes a difference, but it didn't. I took screenshots of the problem and then loaded into my picture of glasses at https://plus.google.com/photos/105852729254799413734/albums/5941369764239347457?authkey=CNXwwpfOrZ-gAQ

Hello stephericsson, this is probably a problem with hardware acceleration - please try to update your video driveror where this does not solve the problem, or there is no new version available at the time, disable hardware acceleration in firefox > options > advanced > General.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible, the settings in the software security and cleaning of the Windows registry.

    • Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you will lose all personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.

  • Update the drop-down menus and jQuery sortable collide with the 16.0.2

The drop-down menus that are contained in a table sortable jquery act as if they are disabled. By clicking on them, doesn't matter. I can tab in the menu drop down and control it with the arrow keys, but the mouse does nothing. The menus outside of the table still work very well. This problem only occurs in Firefox 16.0.2 on several computers, all equipped with Windows 7. The problem does not occur in IE9, Chrome or Safari. In addition, the problem does not occur in Firefox 15, but it occurs in Firefox 17 Beta. I did not see anything addressing this specific issue, so I guess this isn't a known issue.

    The problem has been resolved.
