What is Adobe flash player needed for

    Hi Alison68,

Welcome to the responses of Microsoft Windows Vista forums.

Adobe Flash Player is a software for viewing animations and movies using computer programs such as a web browser; in common usage, Flash lets you put animation and movies on a web site. Flash Player runs SWF files that can be created by the Adobe Flash authoring tool, Adobe Flex or by a number of other Macromedia and third-party tools. The Flash Player has been designed to display 2D vector animation, but since become appropriate to create rich Internet applications and streaming video and audio. It uses vector graphics to minimize the file size and create files save bandwidth and loading time. Flash is a common format for games, animations, and GUIs embedded in web pages. Flash Player is available as a plugin for recent versions of browsers web (such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari and Internet Explorer) on selected platforms. Adobe States that each version of the plugin is backward compatible, with the exception of security changes introduced in Version 10.

  • I've always had an Adobe Flash Player update for my frustrating timing Mac users...

I always had an Adobe Flash Player update for my frustrating timing Mac users and have tried to find ways to run the upgrade to multiple users via ARD, but could never find the .pkg file. Today, after a lot of research I found this help file,

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/installation-problems-Flash-Player-Mac.html

To this is a link to the .dmg file that contained the .app file that had the installer .pkg. The link has been labeled the Flash Player for Safari and Firefox - NPAPI

My question is: can I use this link to get the latest Flash Player .pkg installer in the future?

    Hi wkrites,

The PACKAGE inside the APP as a whole is not intended for distribution, you are referring and will not install some required components.

If you distribute Flash Player within your organization, we offer a PKG Installer to be used by tools such as ARD.  If you have not done so, you need a license to distribute Flash Player within your organization.  You will then receive an email with the URL to visit to download the installation file of.  Please see Adobe Flash Player Distribution. Adobe for more information on the Flash Player licenses and candidate.

The Flash Player Administrator's Guide, http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/flash_player_admin_guide.html, contains useful information for the Flash Player deployment administrator within their organization.

  • Strange icon that will not allow the update to Adobe Flash Player 17 for mac

When I download the most recent Adobe Flash update for mac I have a strange icon.

    Screen Shot 2015-04-01 at 11.09.42 AM.png

When I double click to launch the update file, I get an even weirder window full of gibberish.Screen Shot 2015-04-01 at 11.11.00 AM.png

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'm open. I went through each help file I can find for Adobe and nothing has helped so far.

    Hi Threigia,

Remove the .mdlp of file name, so that it ends just .dmg.

We are seeing this behavior with users who have installed of MathLab and we look at why this is happening.  FWIW, this happens to other software THAT DMG files as well, not only the installer of Flash Player.  For some reason when users have installed, MathLab when the DMG file is downloaded, it adds the extension .mdlp for her.  When users try to run it, rather than open with DiskImageMounter, which is what OS X uses to open DMG files, it opens using MATLAB and the result is what you posted.  In this case in the future, simply remove ".mdlp" from the file name and DiskImageMounter will open the DMG, instead of Matlab.

  • I have Adobe Flash Player Plugin for Firefox, but still miss me Flash Player?

So I installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player Plugin for Firefox and I am able to watch videos of youtube on my browser and other things that require flash player, but I have a disc that I got with my Samsung screen, and when I put it in my computer, it says that I do not actually have flash player. Also, when I try to play a game, DawnGate, theres a black box where a video should be and he says that I don't have a flash drive, and it is necessary to watch these videos. I tried to uninstall and I was unable to Watch youtube videos, and when I reinstalled, I was able to Watch youtube even once, but that did not fix my problem. Is there something that I am missing? I look forward to hearing from someone soon.

Chances are that it is looking for the IE plugin: (a lot of software just assumes all Windows users are "slaves to Microsoft" and only have IE installed.)

    Flash Player ActiveX (Internet Explorer)

or the stand-alone version of the player:

  • Is there a page of archive for the Flash Player plugins for PORTABLE versions of the web browsers?

Is there a page of archive for downloads installers for Flash Player plugin for PORTABLE versions of web browsers like Firefox ESR?

One of my web browsers is Firefox ESR 10.0.7 and is a PORTABLE of Firefox version that apparently needs a different Flash Player plugin that the plugin Flash Player normal requiring regular versions of most web browsers.

I don't want to install the most recent PORTABLE Flash Player plugin version because I read about the problems with it and it is the only capable version this ESR Firefox will give me the opportunity to download and install when I try to install the plugin Flash Player necessary through the browser.

I already know about the page archive plugin Adobe Flash Player normal, below, the link, but who don't have the Flash Player plugins for MOBILE web browsers.

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/archived-Flash-Player-versions.html

I also looked on OldApps.com and I couldn't find anything there.

Where can I download an older version, maybe one of the plugins Flash Player 11.2 to round April 2012, that will work with this version of PORTABLE Firefox ESR?

I tried this question in the forum of Mozilla Firefox Help, but no one could answer.

    Thanks for any help,

    digiday

I met the same problem with the version of portable Firefox, I've tried.  I found myself ignoring the record (with the text file) that they have provided and created my own folder 'plugins' alongside firefox executable.

As to why I went with 10.3 11.4, it was mainly because we added in Flash Player 11.3 protected mode.  While this might work (it didn't on my first attempt), it adds a layer of complexity that I didn't want to face.  If you need some of the new features of 11.x, then you have to play with it to see if you can get this to work.  One thing to try would be to modify the mms.cfg by disabling the protected-mode, however, I do not know if this file is accessible outside your windows\system32\macromed\flash folder.

You can find all versions of 10.3 here: where can I find direct downloads of Flash Player 10.3 for Windows or Macintosh?

    Install Oracle 11 g 2 on Ubuntu Linux 11.04 (64-bit) Howto

The instructions are for 64-bit Ubuntu and Oracle. Any reason why run you the 32-bit operating system? Unless your current CPU prohibited x86_64 you want to limit your available installation options. You can install 32-bit software on a 64 bit OS, but not the reverse.

Please note that Oracle Enterprise does not officially support Ubuntu. You can think of Oracle Express Edition (XE) making.

  • Flash Player 10_3_183_7 for Firefox6.0 on Solaris 10?

    August 26, 2011

    Ladies and gentlemen,

It's already seen all over again.  I have a Solaris 10 under Firefox 6.0 system, and the browser told me to update my Flash Player plugin.  The new version is 10_3_183_7.  The current version is an old edition of 10_3, that works.  But the new version, installed in the same way that the former does not work - the browser does not recognize his presence.  (However, it does not, the error at startup messages issue.)  Two months ago I had the same problem upgrading Flash Player 9 for Flash Player 10 in Firefox 3.6 and 4.0.  In this case, the solution was to connect the four modules of library in the firefox directory to the depends/lib subdirectory.  This allowed the program to find the modules and load and run properly.  But the new version of Flash Player is installed with these links in place.  So what is the new Flash Player missing now?  Someone out there has met and solved this problem?  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Sincerely,

    Ian H. Redmount

I'll install a solaris 10 FCS and try to reproduce the problem.

Still one thing you can try is to remove pluginreg.dat you directory $HOME/.mozilla.

    $cd $HOME/.mozilla

    $find. -name pluginreg.dat

    And delete them all.

And the problem of ray looks a little different.

  • LabVIEW for linux (Ubuntu 64-bit)

University of Helsinki uses a centralized managed linux installation on all linux workstations.  The distribution is based on Ubuntu 9.10, and it is considering moving to 10.04 LTS.  Almost all of the facilities are 64-bit, only a few old machines (> 5 years of age) are still using 32-bit installation.

In the Physics Department, there are about 500 machines and about 30% of those who are linux workstations.  We strive to get LabVIEW for Linux installed on our desktop, then run under Ubuntu 64-bit.

1 problem (not a problem): For some strange reason, the installation media does not CD/DVD use normal files (iso9660) system, but the media is formatted with the file system "Mac OS X HDF +".  It works under linux, of course, but has been a source of mild confusion.  It would be wise to change the normal file system to the next version.

2nd problem: The installation under Ubuntu does not work.  Namely:

First I mount the media with the "mount-t hfsplus/dev/sr0/media/cdrom0" and try running the installation script
    CD/media/cdrom0/Linux/labview-2009
    sudo knew
    . / INSTALL

Installation is not going smoothly.  According to the error message, the script is not found the library libbz2:

/ Media/cdrom0/Linux/LabVIEW-2009/bin/rpmq: error while loading shared libraries: libbz2.so.1: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory

However, the library is in standard place:
    $ ls/lib/libbz2 *.
    /lib/libbz2.so.1 /lib/libbz2.so.1.0 /lib/libbz2.so.1.0.4

I know, "support of the distribution" list only include Mandriva, RedHat, and SUSE.  The version of LabVIEW is the latest version of the fall of 2009.  Does anyone have any ideas what to try next?

    see you soon,
    Pekko

Before IE10, there seemed to be no problems.

AFP has been installed multiple times, without integration with IE 10.

Please let me know if there is a solution, or when it can be outside.

    Hello

No, it certainly isn't a Flash Player update to the official address notification.  If you have the full URL path that generated it, please private message it me and I'll pass it on to the team of fraud for study.

    Thank you.
