Flash Player Security Warning

I created a Menubuilder file that opens a /Sub .swf file created in Captivate. When you open the .swf file it comes up with a Flash security warning. The warning gives you the option to click Ok or settings. If you simply press OK it will ask all a new .swf file is opened. If you click settings, that it will allow that you make a change to the settings in the secuity Flash settings manager. Is there a way to solve this problem within Captivate? If this is not the case, how can I change this in the registry on all computers so that users do not see this message on different computers, on which they can open the file? I use 2 Captivate and Flash version 8 is installed within the office. The message would be confusing to users, so I have to find a workaround for this.

New nicknameintegration Hi

Well, I think I may have a solution for you. I found some time and tested my theory of redirection and it failed.

So here's what I've tried and it seems to work for me. Maybe it will be for you as well.

In Captivate, open the application of MenuBuilder via file > create a MenuBuilder project...
Then, you will be prompted with a dialog box MenuBuilder. Click the empty project option, and then click OK to close the dialog box.
Click Options > Project Options...
Choose custom window down size and set the smallest size possible 320 Wide by 200 Tall MenuBuilder project.
Click OK to close the MenuBuilder Project Options dialog box.
Click Insert > Clickbox...
You should see a new dialogue clickbox.
Type your name for the PDF file (example: SomeFile.PDF) in the link field and then click OK to close the dialog box.
Size of the Clickbox to cover the entire space. I usually do drag up to the upper left corner as much as possible, then click on the resizing handle lower and make drag as far down and to the right as possible.
Click the export toolbar.
You will be prompted for a project file name and a location. Choose a location and type a file name, and then click on the "Save" button.
Now you should see a MenuBuilder Export Options dialog box. Choose the output of the Flash movie, and then click Next > button.
Type a file name for your. SWF, choose a location and click the Finish button.

At this point, you should have a MenuBuilder. SWF file that can be used to open the. PDF. You have a lot now close MenuBuilder and return to Captivate.

Inside Captivate, you insert a text caption, image or another indication that your user can click to open the. PDF. Then while on the same slide, click Insert > Animation...
The desired animation is the. SWF, you created using the MenuBuilder. Then locate and select it, then click Open.
You should be greeted with a dialog box warning on an action script as the root "References". Click Yes to Captivate pat on the head and make sure that it as the end of the world, in fact, NOT if you allow it to continue.

Now, size and position the object that you added so that it covers the text or the image that shows your username can click to open the. PDF. Indeed, your users see the text or the image and click. But the. SWF that you created using the MenuBuilder will be in front of the text or image and receive the click. Then, the. PDF should open.

Just give it a go and see if it works for you. I'm sure it will. It seems to work for me here on my PC.

Shout back if you have any questions or need any clarification.

Sincerely... Rick

I am aware of the fix for this but I need help to understand a few things:

    1. Why some users to access the guest and others not?
    2. Why is the process of the application of the different fix for some users?
    3. How can we ensure proactively that the masses will not get this message when we're ready to release the product/service?

    History

We prepare to deploy a new product or service, so a small team of computer science have been video creating using e-Learning Suite.  Before we roll the final product of our users they wanted to confirm that the videos were playing very well.

People with e-Learning response indicated having received the Adobe Flash Player Security prompt (see below) when they tried to play one of the videos they've created.

    Flash_WithSpaces.png

My first thought was maybe the spaces had something to do with it, so I made a copy of another file (which was also having the same problem) & deleted all spaces, but the problem persisted. (See below)

I sent them some instructions on how to fix...

    FlashSecurityFix1.png

But on another machine, the person said was their process is quite different:

    • "Click on settings...".
    • Go to the Advanced tab
    • Click check now
    • When you click check now, it should bring you to this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ , do remain.
    • Right-click on the text of the Version information - it should bring up a contextual menu
    • Select "global settings".
    • Click on the tab 'Advanced' in the Flash Player Settings Manager window resulting
    • Scroll to Developer Tools and click on "settings... trusted location:
    • Click "Add folder...". »
    • Select your drive APTUBE
    • Confirm
    • Close windows and restarting playback of the video.

Once again, I and several others (the majority) do *not* security message; The video loads and plays very well.  Yet, the group that created the video receive this prompt.

We want to ensure that it is not not a general configuration problem which will result in several hundreds of our help desk calls when announce us it!

I think you'll find that you're talking to a combination of people with the standard version of Flash Player, and people with the installed Flash Player debugger.  Looks like you have the installed Flash Player debugger.

You can check in the section 'Find the type of Flash Player version and capacity' on this page:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/find-version-Flash-Player.html

The debugger comes with Flash Professional and Flash Builder.  Professional Flash shipped as part of Adobe eLearning Suite.

When you are creating Flash content, we ask you to do strange things with local files.  We also show you popup errors ActionScript.  For the average end user, we tighten the security down and remove us all these messages to provide the smoothest experience possible.

I recommend that you install and test with Google Chrome, just like a convenience thing.  It comes with it's own version of Flash Player delivered it.  This makes it nice for the test, because you have an easy way to keep a version of the player installed, while retaining the debugger in other browsers to facilitate analysis and content creation.

You can always uninstall the debugger and return to a target release of Flash Player to Flash Player uninstall and download the most recent from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

    Uninstall instructions:

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/uninstall-Flash-Player-Windows.html

If you are not debugging Flash content on your system, the release player is MUCH faster.  You want to use it for general web surfing.

So back to this error message.  Looks like your customers are going to see that the current state of things, and you'll definitely want to fix front of ship.  You can confirm by checking with a browser with installed release player (Chrome).

Flash Player is saying that you try to run a SWF (compiled Flash animation), but the SWF file runs out of your local file system and called a network API.

When you compile a SWF file, you can define how this SWF behaves when run from the local file system.  It can a.) Talk to the Internet or b). Access local files.  You cannot cross the river.  This prevents a malicious user to read information from your machine and sending it to themselves.

I'm pretty sure that if you recompile the SWF, but go to file > publication settings > Security local playback and set of access network only, the error message will disappear for people with versions of Flash Player.

  • Is it possible to skin Panel or style Flash Player security?

Problem: our web application users are complaining that it is difficult to go beyond Flash Player Security Panel, when they want to make video calls.  (Personally, I don't see why it's hard.)   We have tried several things to guide them in the process, including legends, pointing to the area of the Panel of security with specific instructions and even a video to AutoPlay.  But still, some don't get it.  I think the biggest confusion is the close"" button.  Users think that it will close the application or the entire window.

Solution #1: it is possible that part of the problem is the small size and style of the Security Panel.  Is it possible to apply a style or skin to the Security Panel, so that it is larger and seems more in line with our web application?

Solution #2: maybe it's also a technical solution.  Has anyone seen a good implementation of a web application that make it easy for non-technical users make video calls?

    Thank you!

    Hello

I believe that you can not change the appearance of the flashplayer Security Panel, for... you know - safety

You could do a tutorial animation that take your users through the process...

  • Flash Player security

We design a Flash CBT (computer Based Training) in a Flash shell wrapped in an HTML page (which is in mode full screen without taskbar according to customer request). This training will be on computers have no internet connection because of security concerns, and we do not use the Flash exe due to the requirements of customers. Then, when a user clicks the button Close Flash. For example, we have a button in flash that uses JavaScript for more later closed the window. This is the code that I use.

    exitButton.onPress = function)
    {
    getURL ("java script: self.close ();");
    }

We have to display the Flash Player Security dialog box there are two choices ok and settings, if you ok nothing happens, if you click on settings, it can not find the page because no internet connection. So we can not define the parameters of the site does perform a work around for this? Will there be an actionscript to work around this problem?

It is a common problem. And not always easy to resolve, mainly because this use of Flash was seen as ever in the design goals for the security model of the tool and it's creation.

"Security error appears when playing Flash content on a CD" http://www.adobe.com/go/1165eb90

Settings Manager won't work of course. You need to create and distribute a MMS.cfg file as described in the TechNote.

  • Flash Player security by your D: / drive...

    Hello

For all of you who have read my post earlier in the day, I apologize for the redundancy; It is a new issue for me.

I worked on an e-learning using Flash Builder product; It was developed to be on the web, but the customer has changed the requirement and now they have asked for a stand-alone dvd disk of the deliverable.

The project consists of a Main.html (launched by autorun.inf), Main.swf (which does load in Main.html no problem from the disk), and several .flv files - so Main.swf loads in Main.html of D:\ but nothing of all of the .flv charge. However, once I hope D:\ by va-the [Flash Player Settings Manager > trusted location settings > add my drive D:\ to the trust file or folder location], everything works well.

    My questions are:

    Why is it a problem?

Is there a way around it?

    What I am doing wrong?

Since everything is completely confined and run locally from the drive D:\, why must Flash Player to trust me to this device in order to run the content? I t seems completely counterintuitive that leaves me boggled.

When I compile a version, everything works perfectly on the spot (without trusting the drive (obviously)) C:\, a time I burn the files on the disk the external content does not until trust D and what is MORE, when I copy the content "burned on the disc" locally, it will play not until what I hope as the C:\ drive!

Little help, please? I know I'm doing something wrong, but I can't find anything online.

    Thanks in advance,

    ~ Chipleh

Woohoo! I found a way around the problem of security settings and of thought, that I would post it here for anyone interested. It took some serious research (mainly because I didn't know well what I was looking for), but I found it!

In Flash Builder > Flex compiler > additional compiler arguments > add:-local en_US-use-network = false

-who explicitly said Flash (obviously) to ignore all of the network settings and assumes that the computer is offline, ensuring that no external threat will interfere during execution, since there is no network connection and Flash will never try instantiate one.

Cheers and thx again for your help mocco,

  • Internet Explorer pop up for Flash Player security is driving me crazy!

Any page, I opened or I'm on in IE and every time I open or click on anything, whether the message "a website wants to open web content using this program on your computer" appears and the program is Adobe Flash Player.  If I select 'allow' it just continues to appear and will disappear only if I select "do not allow".  Sometimes it seems caught in a loop and pop up constantly.  Oddly, this only happens in Internet Explorer, but not if I use Firefox.  This happened to someone else and do anyone know how I can stop?  Thank you

I did a little googling, and found a few cases where IE security setting (Tools |) Internet Options | Enable security) protégé off mode deleted these pop-ups. You can try this?

How can I avoid flash player to display this box?

    settings.JPG

Also, I checked some flash banners and disabled options above for test and they worked very well even when

I run my script works even if the user has disabled the options above.

I'm not with the use of flashplayer ExternalInterface throwing these alerts also

    Help, please

You did evidence for you to replace this securioty alert, you must add the location to this second interface.  For example, you could add 'C:\Documents and Settings\George\Desktop' to that list empty lcurrently.

That security applies to the use of local files.  So if you have this file deployed on the internet, people have not the problem you are experiencing.

  • Uses the automatic update to the Flash Player security? It is installed in system preferences on my Mac

    Hello-

One day I noticed that there is an icon on my MacBook Pro to Adobe Flash on the bottom of the system of preferences.  I have never seen this, and I had ben using Flash for a long time and be updated regularly.

He recently told me that there is a newer version.  I have it did not install it because I have so many problems with the display of Flash video on Web sites.  I have a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X 10.6.8.  I use Safari 5.1.5 later, AFAIK.

By using this automatic update for Flash (there are actually several tabs when I click on the Adobe not only the Update icon) in the Advanced tab of the Flash Player icon is there special things I need to do if I click Yes updated?  should I close all the windows, applications, Safari?  do a restart?  I'm debating if I should do a clean install, wipe all Flash Player on Mac and simply install the latest version rather then let update install the latest version, I think it's 11.2.202.228.  I currently have 11.1.102.64 with a bunch of graphical issues.

    Thanks for any help.

I need to send the code html + movie and I want to assure you that this message, is it possible to do?

    Thank you

    Hello

If others will get the message will depend on the method you use to present the content.

If you copy the content to a web server, and they will be see on the internet, the message should not appear and everything should be good.

If you copy the contents of a CD-ROM, it is possible that they would find the message. But there is a workaround to prevent it.
