Adobe Flash Player security prompt

I am aware of the fix for this but I need help to understand a few things:

  1. Why some users to access the guest and others not?
  2. Why is the process of the application of the different fix for some users?
  3. How can we ensure proactively that the masses will not get this message when we're ready to release the product/service?

History

We prepare to deploy a new product or service, so a small team of computer science have been video creating using e-Learning Suite.  Before we roll the final product of our users they wanted to confirm that the videos were playing very well.

People with e-Learning response indicated having received the Adobe Flash Player Security prompt (see below) when they tried to play one of the videos they've created.

Flash_WithSpaces.png

My first thought was maybe the spaces had something to do with it, so I made a copy of another file (which was also having the same problem) & deleted all spaces, but the problem persisted. (See below)

Flash_WithoutSpaces.png

I sent them some instructions on how to fix...

FlashSecurityFix1.png

But on another machine, the person said was their process is quite different:

  • "Click on settings...".
  • Go to the Advanced tab
  • Click check now
  • When you click check now, it should bring you to this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ , do remain.
  • Right-click on the text of the Version information - it should bring up a contextual menu
  • Select "global settings".
  • Click on the tab 'Advanced' in the Flash Player Settings Manager window resulting
  • Scroll to Developer Tools and click on "settings... trusted location:
  • Click "Add folder...". »
  • Select your drive APTUBE
  • Confirm
  • Close windows and restarting playback of the video.

Once again, I and several others (the majority) do *not* security message; The video loads and plays very well.  Yet, the group that created the video receive this prompt.

We want to ensure that it is not not a general configuration problem which will result in several hundreds of our help desk calls when announce us it!

I think you'll find that you're talking to a combination of people with the standard version of Flash Player, and people with the installed Flash Player debugger.  Looks like you have the installed Flash Player debugger.

You can check in the section 'Find the type of Flash Player version and capacity' on this page:

http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/find-version-Flash-Player.html

The debugger comes with Flash Professional and Flash Builder.  Professional Flash shipped as part of Adobe eLearning Suite.

When you are creating Flash content, we ask you to do strange things with local files.  We also show you popup errors ActionScript.  For the average end user, we tighten the security down and remove us all these messages to provide the smoothest experience possible.

I recommend that you install and test with Google Chrome, just like a convenience thing.  It comes with it's own version of Flash Player delivered it.  This makes it nice for the test, because you have an easy way to keep a version of the player installed, while retaining the debugger in other browsers to facilitate analysis and content creation.

You can always uninstall the debugger and return to a target release of Flash Player to Flash Player uninstall and download the most recent from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

Uninstall instructions:

http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/uninstall-Flash-Player-Windows.html

If you are not debugging Flash content on your system, the release player is MUCH faster.  You want to use it for general web surfing.

So back to this error message.  Looks like your customers are going to see that the current state of things, and you'll definitely want to fix front of ship.  You can confirm by checking with a browser with installed release player (Chrome).

Flash Player is saying that you try to run a SWF (compiled Flash animation), but the SWF file runs out of your local file system and called a network API.

When you compile a SWF file, you can define how this SWF behaves when run from the local file system.  It can a.) Talk to the Internet or b). Access local files.  You cannot cross the river.  This prevents a malicious user to read information from your machine and sending it to themselves.

I'm pretty sure that if you recompile the SWF, but go to file > publication settings > Security local playback and set of access network only, the error message will disappear for people with versions of Flash Player.

Senocular has excellent ventilation of the present here:

    Hello

I created the html page and on this page, I opened an animation flash (Captivate 4).

I need to send the code html + movie and I want to assure you that this message, is it possible to do?

    Thank you

    Hello

If others will get the message will depend on the method you use to present the content.

If you copy the content to a web server, and they will be see on the internet, the message should not appear and everything should be good.

If you copy the contents of a CD-ROM, it is possible that they would find the message. But there is a workaround to prevent it.

  • Installed Adobe Flash Player update and now get the security warning message

On each page on that I click I get the warning following pop box IE. A website wants to open web content outside of protected mode. This program will open outside of protected mode". The Web site, whether is Adobe Flash Player.  I can't get rid of the pop up if I click on allow.  I can click on don't allow not, but for every thing I'm in, I get this pop up warning window.  I do not think that I have to click on "don't show me this message again" that I should?

I asked this question on the Adobe forum, and while a lot of people have looked at my question, I did not get all the answers.  I also went to support at Microsoft and found this problem.  The only difference is that the problem is for Vista and I have Windows 7.  Otherwise, it's exactly the same thing.  He said to check for a fix.  I clicked the button to fix, but then he said that it was not available.  I don't understand.  First he said it was, but when I clicked it, it said that it was not.  Is it because I have Windows 7 and not Vista?

As you can probably, I'm not the sharptest knife in the drawer when it comes to computer problems so I could sure use some help.  I also installed all updates latest IE.  That did not help.  I would like just to uninstall Adobe Flash Player but don't have many programs need?  I you could use some help here.  Thank you.

    Sandee

I tried to follow your steps as carefully as I could.  I'm sorry to report that it did not work.  What I finally had to do was to make a back up and restore.  I backed up before 3 days, which was a bunch of Windows updates.  I probably lost all updates but guess what - the warning box has disappeared.

Thank you very much for taking the time & than give me such clear instructions, step by step.  The fact that you tried is appreciated by me.

  • Adobe Flash Player is a 32-bit for my 64-bit operating system is that a problem?

I have a HP110-014 and just put it together, but find that it does not allow me to post videos on Youtube and says that I don't have Adobe Flash player on my computer. But when I try to load Adobe Flash player, it is said that Adobe is pre-installed on my Windows 8 operating system. Yet, when I check the Adobe Flash player on my system, this is the 32-bit version and my system is 64-bit. IUs this a problem?

    Hello

It is normal that flash to run as a 32-bit exe on a 64 bit system.

If it does not work, try a new installation of the Flash plug-in as follows.

First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    Flash Player Uninstaller.

Once the download is complete, close all the browser windows, open your downloads folder and run the program uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the laptop.

Then (unless you already have it), download and install Firefox , then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You can deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before download.

Close all browser windows before you run the installer of Flash.

Start Firefox and see if the videos etc. play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same link Adobe Flash above to get a command prompt to install the ActiveX component.  Once completed, restart Internet Explorer.

    Kind regards

    DP - K

  • Adobe Flash Player not installed

I installed Adobe Flash Player, Shockwave Flash, V17.0.0.188 several times trying to update my plugin since the evolution of Windows 10 about a month ago. I don't get an error message, but when I return to mozilla plugin check, it shows that I need to update the reader, as if I have not done. Does not reboot the PC (as well as the shut-down/re-start).

Flash Player 17.0.0.188 is old as it came out may 12 as you can see at https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsb15-09.html

The current versions of Windows are to https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
Flash Player 19.0.0.245 (Mac and Win)
Flash Player 18.0.0.261 ESR (Mac and Win)

It seems that you have a version of Flash player, 17 and 19 installed according to the directions of your system more on tight to your post details. When you have an older version installed with current version installed on the system can still get used to the place.

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/uninstall-Flash-Player-Windows.html

Uninstall Flash versions and then install current. Make sure Firefox is closed when you uninstall and install Flash.
