Flash Player will not save settings

Before we begin, I will say I tried everything literally. Not an average joe, I mean full on everything.

Windows 7, Firefox.

Last week, I decided that it was time to reinstall my OS because I had just bought some new drives and a new SSD. First thing I did was a complete backup of my old, which worked without problems.

I then migrated all my data on it piece by piece, including my Firefox profiles and the Macromedia folder in AppData/Roaming. I always have these backups.

However, when you use twitch.tv and YouTube earlier, I noticed that nothing was to save... Twitch was defaulting to the lowest quality and volume max and YT was defaulting to Max volume naturally, I tried to reinstall Flash. No dice.

I then uninstalled flash, deleted the two files in AppData/Roaming macromedia and / local, deleted all the mozilla AppData folders and then reinstalled flash and Firefox.

It still does not work.

Since then, I tried every single combination possible. I have years many, many stops of flash game, flash config options and various other things I desprately want saved. My biggest problem here is the fact that even nuking everything does not resolve the issue. There was literally nothing to remove, I even checked ProgramData. I also checked the permissions for all folders that I used to have in AppData, and it's good. Running everything in admin still does not a lick of difference.

If anyone can help me with this, I will appreciate it seriously. It is depressing me now.

EDIT: Just thought I would add that I went through all the standard settings and everything is set to be allowed to register.

Edit2: Downgraded to 11.6.602.1 and everything works absolutely perfectly. This is ridiculous.

Thanks, I gave the team of database public bug a head.

Wow, I saw a post from m_vargas (personal Adobe): this is a known problem, so obviously there is a problem that nobody knows how to solve. Fix Adobe is use use only Chrome or installer - reinstall your operating system the offline. Great job Adobe.

  • Flash player will not install on Windows XP using Opera. Can you help me solve this problem?

Flash player will not install on Windows XP using Opera. Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.149 has downloaded to my computer. Opera is the browser in use. Can you help me solve this problem?

I have good news! I managed to install Adobe Flash Player 11 by going to my temporary download folder and remove Adobe Flash Player 11, I then downloaded it once more. This time it installed on my computer.

  • Flash Player will not be updated, gray screen

So, as mentioned, my flash drive will not be updated and will only display a gray screen (I also try to update FlashPlayer 18)

I tried uninstall Flash and reinstall, but in vain.

My Chrome Flash Player works well, but I read somewhere that it uses it's own separate flash.

I am actually trying to update my IE and Opera would be able to use it, because Opera is my main browser and I need IE do (I think) to properly run Final Fantasy 14.

Any help will be appreciated, I tried everything I could find but nothing has worked.

    Hi doubleradiation,

Have you moved the file installation from one machine to the other?  If so, please try the following:

    1. Right-click on the Setup file, and then select Properties
    2. On the general tab, click the unlock button
    3. Click apply
    4. Click OK to close the window
    5. Double-click on the installer to start the installation program

  • Flash Player will NOT work in 8.1 Windows useless

I'm now regretting upgrading to Windows 8.1 Flash Player will (even after following ALL the recommended fixes on the forums) does NOT work in Windows 8.1 it is now clear that there is no official reason - fix if there is, Microsoft would put an update which should fix the problem. As a result, we end up with a bunch of patched-together patches unofficial "maybe it works" - neither works.

As for many others with this problem, I have Windows 8.1, 64 bit system with IE 11. Yes, I have the latest version of the flash player installed. Yes, I see the bouncing ball or whatever the hell it is in the gray box... or clouds moving in the other box. Yes, Shockwave active in Manage Add-ons. Yes, the ActiveX filtering is not verified in respect of the security. I went through this list so many times, that my head is spinning. The most annoying part when I 'test' to see if the latest version of Flash is installed (sigh, of course, it is) this is the message: "you are not running IE in Windows 8" good duuhhh.» Of course I'm not. I just upgraded to your platform 8.1 stupid.

If someone is asleep at the switch from Microsoft? They roll 8.1 and screw everyone who installs it when it does not work with Flash? Shouldn't they tested this first? Why this problem has not been fixed yet? It is obvious that I'm not the only one who is frustrated beyond the point of view of white to this incompetence.

Anyone know if there is a fix coming out of this outrageous mistake? Or will just sit us and twiddle thumbs as the gang at Microsoft?

Flash Player is actually integrated in Internet Explorer on Windows 8 and 8.1.  There is nothing for you to download or install it from Adobe.

After the description of the problem, looks like you're going to a Web site and send a message that Flash Player is not found.

On most sites, there is JavaScript that determines which version of your browser and Flash are installed, so that it can determine what content to show you.  In Internet Explorer 11, Microsoft has changed the string that identifies Internet Explorer for these scripts, and it is very likely that the Web site you are visiting needs to make adjustments to account for the change.  There will probably be a chaotic transition period, as web properties major pointed out the problem and fix it.

Meanwhile, Mike's suggestions are good.  Use Compatibility Mode or another browser.  You can also contact the website (especially if they have a small shop) to make them aware of the problem.  You are on the end at the beginning of the adoption curve, and they may need up to a leader.

    Thank you!

  • Flash Player will not be updated or uninstall... :(

I use Firefox 3.6.15 (with Shockwave Flash active) on Windows 7 64 bit with Flash Player 10,0,32,18 depending on the box here:

    http://www.Adobe.com/software/Flash/about/

Then... My problem is... I downloaded and installed Flash Player 10.2 several times and it says full intall... but once more, he says I 10,0,32,18.  I used the Flash Player uninstaller and follow this guide:

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/141/tn_14157.html

    Re-installed, but still no luck...

Sigh... I only noticed that he is has not been updated after yesterday when YouTube was the Symphonic live event and when I went to watch it, it says I need the latest version of Flash Player, 10.2 (which I installed manually before this event) and made me install.

I tried the method of cleanup with CCleaner, I did some tests antivirus, registry cleaning and same registry defrags, but no luck...

Again, I will say that I try uninstall using Revo uninstaller, add/remove Prgrams Uninstller and Flash Player Uninstaller.exe

I'm pretty good with computers and I tried to fix myself because I rarely ask for help from others, but this time... I don't know what to do...

I also went through the troubleshooting and still no luck...

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/191/tn_19166.html#main_Uninstall

If I remember, 10.0.32.18 is a pretty old version... Does this mean that my Flash Player is not updated? I update all my software from their output updates...

I had a problem with Flash Player, where one of the folders in Firefox missing some .dll files and videos YouTube didn't work, but I solved that last...

And as for any recent changes. I think the biggest impact may be the update of Windows to Windows 7 service pack 1 that came out recently...

So... any help will be followed carefully and is very appreciated... Thanks ^_^

    It's very curious...

    You can try the following:

Http://www.Adobe.com/software/Flash/about/ still shows the old version?

If so, you can search across the system if you have another version of NPSWF32.dll somewhere?

  • Adobe flash player will not work

My Inspiron computer get infected with Malware and my Internet Explore disappeared.  I had the virus to remove and reinstall Internet explorer.  Now I can't load the adobe flash player.  She shows in computer programs, but will not work.  When I open the games especially on Facebook it says I need to update flash player.  What should I do now? Is there something already in Windows 7, which replaces the flash drive, HELP!

    1. Uninstall Flash player using the Flash removal tool, available here:

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/141/tn_14157.html

NOT to do so via Dashboard-> programs & features.

    2. go in Start-> all programs-> Internet Explorer (not the one that says 64-Bit)

    3. go to the website www.adobe.com

    4. click on the 'Get Adobe Flash Player '.

    5. follow the prompts to download and install Macromedia Flash Player.

Now, all you have to remember is that you must use the version of Internet Explorer, mentioned in step 1 above if you want to use Flash Player. That's what I do all the time.

NOTE: If you use Windows 7 32 - Bt ignore references to 64-bit.

  • Adobe Flash Player will not install.

I tried several times to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, but it WON'T install.  It downloads fine, but when you click on install, load the Adobe's Installation file (window), but that he was doing the lock of my computer.  Why?  I had 13. What is installed and it has worked well, but kept getting a message that I needed to update the flash player, but the computer will not be installed.  He installed the other updates very well, so what gives.  When you try to install, the window is displayed, but does not install and the computer crashes.  I DO not close the Explorer window and even updated my IE from 10 to 11.  Still will not install.

Another problem I have is that the ANT downloader will not work either.  I click on it to download a file will not download YouTube downloader, but when you try to use it, it says that it is disabled.  Yet, when you go to "Manage Add on", and clicking it, it shows the Ant.com downloader is indeed enabled, but it will not work too.  They are linked, or do I have to have two separate problems?

Uninstall Flash player and re-install the latest version of download and run the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller.

I've tried everything. I have a new MacBook Pro with Yosemite 10.10

I finally found one that actually opens a window of Setup, but when I click on 'Install' the beachball weaves, let him shoot all day today to see if the time would help. He just kept spinning as if it were really long Beach Boys concert.

Please, someone help. All with the video seems to use it. I had this problem for the both Safari AND Firefox.

Great, glad you were able to get running.  Usually when you see this, it's a third-party virus scanner - usually a release or off-brand a - which is to stop the installation program.  If you want to help us improve Setup online, newspapers would be useful.  Otherwise, we keep links updated for offline installation programs displayed on the installation troubleshooting guide.
