  2. You are able to install some other updates on the computer?
  3. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
  4. You have security software installed on the computer?

  Method 1

  I suggest that reset you the Windows Update components by default and then try to install the update.

  If the previous step fails then I would suggest that you manually download and install the update on the computer.

  If the problem is specific to this particular update, I suggest you to refer to the article below and run the FIXIT mentioned in method 2 tool and perform the steps mentioned there. If you are not able to install some other updates as well, I suggest you to perform all the above troubleshooting methods.

  I'm trying to reinstall original OS (WIN 8.1).  I use three DVD recovery discs provided by HP, but unfortunately for some reason any recovery keeps failing.   Besides the machine will start only in the first DVD.  According to the BIOS, the laptop was built in 2014 (which apparently has some influence on the recovery someware).

  This somewhat embarrassing.  My problem was solved when the operating system has been reinstalled.  Initially I contacted HP customer care with a view to see what my chances were to have replaced the operating system.  You see the recovery partition has been deleted by mistake when I was convinced to give a Linux OS a go.  I could not get used and decided to return to Windows.

  Anyway somewhere in the conversation with the customer service "re-install" became "valorisation" and a few days later, a system recovery DVD set arrived on my doorstep.  As you know, I tried various methods to try to resolve the problem without success.   Yet once, I talked to CS and it was decided that I send to the machine to HP (AWA) to Sydney for repairs. One day ortol later that I have received a call from a technician who asked if there were files or data on the hard drive that I need to be saved.  I said nothing on the HARD drive and he said thathe would like to reinstall the OS.  That's what the report says, reinstalled OS and the device.

  I guess the moral of this story is to recover whatever it is there must be something to recover.  That's why I kept getting the message "try to restore system failed" or words to that effect.

• Web server converstion keeps failing

  I tried to convert a windows2003 ent. Server Web for a week now and it keeps failing.  I managed Converter 2 other web servers w / same features.  The machine sometimes fails to 1 - 2% other times it faulty 20-35%.  I tried to use the Converter 3.0.3 and 4.0.0 Converter (both are standalone versions).

  Here's the catch.  I'm not allowed to stop IIS during the conversion.   I don't know if it's important but guess he could.

  The 1st web area converted to 6 hours approximately.  It hosts the only site that is rarely used.

  2nd box hosts 15 web sites - this conversion took about 100-120 hours (5 days)? but finished and I check the virtual machine and it seems to work (it will start and data is there)-have not yet been fully tested.

  The 3rd area web hosting 80 sites + and will not convert.  Once again, it is estimated to be about 5 days and fails to about 20-35%.  I just tried to convert by using Converter 4 and again once it failed about 10 minutes in.

  * Attached are 2 files - the zipped file is 4.0 conversion that doesn't have 10 minutes.  -the .txt file is the conversion of 3.0.3 which failed to 22%.
