  • If you want a box, then you want a div, which means CSS. Any div (or an HTML page by the way) will automatically increase to contain the content it holds. See the tutorial I linked to before.

  • If your text is longer than will fit in a browser window, you will get a scroll bar on the browser. If you want an integrated area - potentially with a scroll bar - to put your content, then you want an iframe.   In all cases, you write the code in Dreamweaver (or another creation tool or a text editor). It is not done in Fireworks. Fireworks is not a HTML authoring environment element.

• You can use actionscript to detect if an icon was clicked in your Flash Web site?

  I want to make my icons lights or vibrating, if they were clicked.  If the viewer clicks on the icon, they watch a video clip and then be returned to the main screen with icons of palpitation.  Is it possible for Flash detect if this icon was clicked when they clicked on the icon to return to the main screen can stop throbbing?

  This configuration is problematic.  use a swf file of a frame that contains your movieclips icon only.  assign the icon movieclips instance like icon1_mc, icon2_mc etc. names.  Add a flvplayback in your library component.

  The link above for the my last class project. On all pages of the site, you will notice that when you scroll in your browser, it is a big gap between the bottom of the content and the bottom of the browser. The exception is the STORE.

  When you create a Flash swf file it has a size of stage, and that the size of stage, it is everything that makes you.

  Most people design a Flash site to match the size of the browser window and not one that requires scrolling.  In this scenario, if it was necessary to scroll, the scroll would be built into the SWF and scrolling the browser would remain unchanged.

  For a site whose height varies from one page to another, it would be more likely to not create a Flash site and instead of creating individual pages for each section.

  If somehow you answered your own question so.  If you want to use Flash to design and you want to have different sections parade only to the extent necessary by using the wheel of the browser, the best way to accomplish this is to have each page as a separate html page containing a separate swf file.

• How to broadcast images stored in an external server to a Flash Web Site?

  I would like to be able to bring external images in a headband as in a slide show, but don't know how to do it. I have a bunch of small images that I love to spend, and my current banner has all the images in the swf file and the swf file is huge.   Your best bet for this would be to Google search using search terms such as "AS3 slideshow tutorial" or "AS3 slideshow dynamic turoial.  This requires that you create an AS3 file.  Otherwise, substitiute AS2 to AS3 in the terms.

  In AS3, of the main classes used to load external images is the class Loader. THUS familiarize themselves with that will be a necessary part of learning.  But it isn't all because you want to have controls to display images.

  One thing I noticed with the banner show you, the pictures seem to be need to be any burden 'huge' file will.  You need to optimize images before import you them into the file.

  Yet, seen the images from loading from an external power supply will be better because then you can change images as you want without having to edit the Flash file.  To achieve this functionality, you must include "XML" with the rest of the identified search terms previously.

  It's my understanding: you publish your SWFs and then bind the individual buttons / whatever together using ActionScript but how exactly did this happen? You publish the swf file and then bring in a 'master' FLA and then link them here? You take all your published swf, place them in a folder and link them like that? Do you have a link and then publish?
  
  For example; I have a main menu with 8 buttons, a button will a menu contact as a fla/swf and a contact as a fla/swf. How and when can I combine these two together? My plan from now is to integrate my Flash movie in an html page, if this is useful.

  The photos are taken from a XML file. Open the XML file flashmo_247_photo_list"in dreamweaver and look at the code, it will be easy to figure out if you've never done any kind of HTML codes.

• When an add-on is configured as click-to-play with certain Web sites to as long as exceptions (don't ask again), how can I return these decisions?

  Well, the title is long enough already...

  Even if an add-on (flash, for example) is configured as click-to-play, I can define some Web sites as exceptions. Then, the add-on is still allowed to play or ever allowed to play and I will never ask any question for these Web sites again.

  The question is: how I can cause Firefox to forget such an exception/decision and treat it again through the standard? (In my case, I simply clicked the wrong button and, as it seems, can only cancel easily.)

  You can rename (or delete) the file permissions.sqlite in the profile folder of Firefox to reset all the permissions.

  You can control and manage permissions for the domain in the tab currently selected through these steps:

  • Click the address bar onthe Site identity button"(globe/lock)
  • Click on 'More information' to open ' tools > Page Info "with the Security tab is selected

  Go to the permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab.

  You can control and manage certain permissions to all areas on the Subject: authorizations page.

  Guys, I'm not a web developer by any means. I learned that flex just enough to get a completed task that I needed.

  I'm more comfortable in Flex as its very intuitive about how to do things. So my question is can I design an entire web site just using flex or should I do not think like that?

  Depends on how they have implemented the code and how the data are filled.  But, in most cases, that's right; in a flash file SWF is not indexed.

  If you google SEO Flex or Flash SEO, you can find more information on this.  Ted Patrick had a few posts on this w / the Flex Directory application that was built.

  He's not changing things from a SEO point of view, but I'll add that the model you're talking about is built in Flash 8; no Flex.

  Yet once, if you use a link url, there no problem.  you will link to your first game.  When a user clicks on the link they will view the game served by your website.  If at the end of the first part, your Web site is configured to use the 2nd game, this is what users will see.

  I recently discovered that browser Konqueror for Linux can help the user to limit the CPU usage while visiting a Web site using flash technology by changing the settings in the Flash section and by adjusting the slider settings VERY HIGH to HIGH and AVERAGE and so on. It actually works and it doesn't have a direct impact on the overall performance for flash player, but it can lead to conflicts if other such extensions that add blocker or click-to-flash are also enabled.

  Maybe you can add a similar setting in Firefox in the browser or just as a useful addon or extension option section.

• Why are there now TWO Adobe Flash Player required to view all of the Web sites: v11.9.900 and v12.0.0.43?

  I had Adobe Flash Player v.11.9.900.170 and upgraded to v.12.0.0.43. When I checked the Add-ons Manager, both versions of Flash were listed and active. I disabled the earlier version, and now indicate a few sites I don't have Flash. When I re-activated the old version, the video has played very well. So what's the problem with it is necessary to have TWO versions of Flash Player installed, the current one AND a previous one? Seems hinkey...

  @cor-el: the previous version seemed to disappear of itself, about 12 hours later. I checked the topic: plugins page (along with the Add/Remove Programs), and only the latest version of Flash is not installed. I have already refreshed the pluginreg.dat file.

  There always at least a web page that asks for the installation of Flash Player, but it works very well on almost all other Web sites.
