• Isolate an image with a shadow

  I often have images taken on a white background that I need to place on the chart. However, I like leaving the shadows.  For years my workflow is to place the two versions of the same image in Illustrator/inDesign; one is the image on the white background, multiply the value, the other is an isolated version that I align the multiplied image.

  1. Unlock the background layer
  2. Select the Subwoofers with the pen tool
  3. Switch the layers panel in traces
  4. Make the choice of the work path
  5. CTRL or Cmd + J to duplicate the selected part
  6. Go back to the layer 0
  7. Layers panel selector channels
  8. Find the channel that creates darker shadow
  9. CTRL + click or Cmd + click the thumbnail of the channel to select
  10. CTRL + SHIFT + I to select reverse
  11. Switch to layers.
  12. Create a new layer
  13. Add a layer mask
  14. Fill the new layer with black (this will be your shadow)
  15. Select the layer shadow and subwoofer
  16. Use the move tool to drag layers to a new document (new background)
  17. Use a levels adjustment (a layer of setting levels cannot be used) to refine the mask of the shadow layer
  18. The mask of feathers slightly, if necessary
  19. Use the brush on the layer mask tool to remove any halo dark, resulting from the pen.

  A curves adjustment layer could be used instead of the layer of black filling (with the same layer mask). However, the layer of black filling can be used without a background, such as a transparent PNG for web use.

• Adding shadows videos Just

  I'm working on a license plate replacement in a video with a still image of an another license plate.  I have monitoring effect works very well, so it seems that it covers it perfectly, but the question arises when a shadow of one of the players goes over the plate.  It causes the image to briefly look like she is floating oddly because the shadow does not effect it.  Recommendations on how to make shadow effect it?  So far, everything I've tried is duplicate the video and try to create different layer modes (hue, obscure, etc.), but none seem right.

  I feel like it's something, I have done it before and am just brain blow on... but stuck is stuck.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  It would be really useful to see the picture with the shadow. According to the shot would probably add a solid color above the original film and then set the blending mode to something like the screen or add or multiply so that I could see through the layer. Solid color depends on the color of the license plate. Let's say you choose orange. If orange was the color then multiply would probably work pretty well.

  Then I would put in the solid color point to where the license plate begins to receive the shadow and start a simple rotation of the shadow across the plate. Once the shadow has passed the plate, you can set the exit point. You now have a layer of color that crosses the plate. Turn on the replacement license plate layer, move the layer color above the replacement plate, then change the color to dark gray and set the blending mode to multiply. Adjust the opacity until the shadow is the shadow of origin. If the shadow has rounded edges and then feather replacement necessary layer.

  I think it would be easier than trying to extract the original footage of the shadow because the shadow is fetch different during its passage over the lightest and darkest parts of plate parts. Here's what I did in a few minutes to show you the process.

  Definitely uninstall the pack k - lite. Those who are not of professional quality codecs and have been known to cause havoc, as they in conflict or otherwise.

  The issue of police may cause a separate beast. I suggest to leave permanently installed only the fonts that are made necessary by the operating system and then use a font management utility to activate the fonts on a per project basis.
