FLV in Dreamweaver

I put a FLV video in Dreamweaver using progressive download with a relative path. I tried an absolute path with the same result. Test the video of my desktop works fine, but once uploaded to the site, the video appears at all in any browser on Mac or PC. I downloaded media files (which, Halo_Skin_1.swf, html, and video). Was I forgetting something? I'm looking in video compression, but why he would play my desktop if it's wrong? Can anyone help? Please?

Thank you all for all your help. In the end, the problem was with the host server. They didn't MIME code on the server that would allow to play a .flv file. The problem has been corrected and the video is now on the site.

  • Creation of a viewer of .flv in Dreamweaver popup

I'm revising my site. In the past, I created separate pages of tutorials video .flv... of hundreds of individual pages. What I'm trying to do is create hyperlinks on the content page, a link to each file .flv so user can click on the link and a video display .flv appears at the top of the content page. I searched Google and found that many people have the same question, but so far I found not one solution to this problem. I know it's possible because the lynda.com site use this method of listening to a very clean and orderly way. This is what I look like. Nobody knows the answer to that, or could make me a tutorial explaining in depth this operation? Thanks in advance.

The problem with the two answers you received is that full understanding of your desire was not understood.

As you have clearly stated in your original post, you want to avoid the difficult task of having to manually create several individual pages and/or links to each video you have.

To avoid creating multiple pages for each video you have so that you can bind to each video as it is recommended that you create a landing page video dynamic for your popup that determines which video file is displayed based on a dynamic parameter that is sent to the launch of the video page. You can accomplish this very ealisy by naming your videos in numerical order (i.e. video1 - 100.flv). Then on the page that you have the links video popup on create a loop to display each link dynamically according to the range of digital parameters that have been determined by the total number of videos available to you. The specifics of this method depends on your side server, scripting language and the coding skills. PHP is the most used method and there are many tutorials to show how to display a range of numbers by using php like this: http://bit.ly/MJkwuh

You'll want your links in the loop to pass a parameter to the URL of the video you want to play in the context menu. This will pop up Dynamics determine what video you want to play. A dynamic link with a URL parameter will look something like this: http://example.com/?video=1

Using the PHP method described above to display a range of numbers, you can create a loop of figures showing your ties to the parameters of the URL like this:

    http://example.com/?video=1

    http://example.com/?video=2

    http://example.com/?video=3

    ...

    http://example.com/?video=100

Then, you only create a video popup page that will display your video on the shortcut menu. You must use a php code (or your scripting language chosen server side) to determine what the video will be displayed according to the setting of URL for the video that was passed to the link of the video that opened the popup player. In php, it is easy enough to grasp the value of the URL parameter. Here's a quick example of embed code that would be included in the context menu:

    "' whatever_embed_code_you're_using_here = 'parameter_value" other_parameter = "parameter_values" video = ".flv ' width ="some_width"height ="some_height. "

Based on the sample code provided on-board, that link the user clicked on links loop will determine how video is displayed according to the 'video' URL parameter that has been passed to the popup page. "" So if a user has clicked on http://example.com/?video=1 the popup page would make the following code: whatever_embed_code_you "re_using_here ="parameter_value"other_parameter ="parameter_values"video =" 1.flv "width ="some_width"height ="some_height"and if the user has clicked on http://example.com/?video=2 , then the popup page would make the following code: whatever_embed_code_you"re_using_here = "parameter_value" other_parameter = "parameter_values" video ="2.flv" width = "some_width" height = "some_height." and so on...

  • Why is looming FLV in Dreamweaver CS5 white box when uploading?

I searched for the answer to this and may not yet understand why...

I downloaded behaviors, skins, and progressive files on the server. I have the latest version of Flash player, but I still don't see the video.

It considers that when I test it locally.

That's a 36 MB file, I may need to compress? If so, how do I?

    Any suggestions?

  • stolen off site video FLV

So I'm puzzled. I downloaded a video to flv using Dreamweaver on my site. It seems that someone has managed to steal a copy of the video directly from the site. I didn't know that this is possible since it's a Flash video. Does anyone know greater security, feature/coding I can integrate into Dreamweaver in order to make difficult/impossible for someone to take my video?

Thanks for anyone who can help!

The very nature of internet opposes what you ask.  YouTube uses streaming video servers, but people can record videos on their site with the widely available grabbing Flash software.  Browsers have same Flash Grabber modules that are easy to use with one click.  You can't stop progress.

If you have serious concerns, you can overlay either a URL, company name or identifying Logo on your video so that everyone knows where it comes from. Or refrain from sensitive video editing on the web.  In the same goes for images and other content.  Once it's on the web, it is there for everyone to see or save as they wish.

Post your copyright notice and tell people they can't use the content of your site without your permission.  Like that at least you can do if you learn that your content is appearing on the web site of someone else.

    Good luck

  • What is app_name/instance_name?

Adobe instructable for setting streaming flv in dreamweaver is:

    "The URI of the server:
Specifies the server name, application name, and instance name in the form rtmp://www.example.com/app_name/instance_name. »

I can't find anything else that a repetition of 'app_name/instance_name' Can someone tell me what they are? Or where I could find of mine?
    See you soon

    Hello

Then the app_name would be "/livestream/".

Maybe, but like I said your streaming service provider should be able to tell, as it may change from supplier to supplier.

    Hello

I want to put a flv in an empty html document

    There are the workflow:

    www.Adobe.com/devnet/Dreamweaver/articles/add_video_03.html

    1. Choose Insert > media > FLV.
    2. In the FLV insert set dialog box the type of video to download Progressive video (see Figure 12).

      and so on

    That's exactly what I did

but in the end, I do not see the flv file

    I just see something below

    what I am doing wrong?

Flash (.swf) Yes. Flash Video (.flv), no.

    GET /tarantel/appearance.flv HTTP/1.1
    HTTP/1.x 200 OK
    Content-Type: text/plain

    Must be:
    Content-Type: video/x-flv

You need set the mimetype for .flv or contact your host if you don't have that kind of access.

The flv file won't play in a browser. Syndrome of the white box.

So, I go to http://freevideocoding.com and get their code, as follows:

    "" "< embed src =" http://freevideocoding.com/flvplayer.swf?file=http :// www.undisclosedstudio.com/MatteFLASH. flv & autoStart = false " width ="640"height ="360"quality ="high"type =" application/x-shockwave-flash"pluginspage =" http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer "> < / embed > "

And my flvs to PLAY VERY WELL. But they are old school.

How do I get Dreamweaver CS4 to incorporate these FLV files so they will play in the browsers?

  • Dreamweaver plays the FLV on-site but not alive.

Hello everyone, put in place the new site and am new to dreamweaver.
essentially, my question is this: I added an FLV with insert > video flash in my home page and it will play well locally when you preview in my browser... but when loading on the server, I don't see anything while browsing my URL. I ADDED RELEVANT DEPENDENCIES (SKIN, PLAYER, SCRIPTS) and still it loads just the site without video, the player or the skin... I confirmed that flv is a MIME supported on my server by searching /etc/mime.types (you penguins.) and oddly enough, if I navigate to www.myurl.com/filename.flv a download begins.

anyone experience this before? what I do not see? Thank you kindly in advance.

  • Dreamweaver CS4: change/rename a .flv - does not change the script code

    Hi all

I do some changes to a site that does everything at the time using CS3.  The site has many, many pages that have embedded .flv files.  All these files have been updated with new videos, so now that I have to go back and change the links for them all.  I'm used to be able to click on the placeholder of the flash on the page and then edit the file link in the Properties window.  Now, it seems that in CS4 when you change the name of the file in this window it only changes the file name in the section object of noscript code but it does not change in the AC_FL_RunContent in the code section.  Me missing something, there was a preference setting in DW I missed somewhere that would make two references to a multimedia file will change when it changes in the Properties window?

    Thank you
    Chris

    Hello

CS4 uses different code to insert flv as CS3, which is probably why it does not recognize and replace the old code.

This means that you probably need to re - insert the FLV into your pages using the insert in CS4 for this option Update automatically on rename.

  • FLV

    Hello

I do not understand why after the insertion of a flv and test the page locally

I still get a blank page ^ place of the video.
So I can't do any test locally
But on the server, it normally appears.
I've never known such a thing before.
    Thanks for any answers

    Your English is very good.

Whenever a new update of the browser came out, they take away features & add new.  My Firefox browser refuses to play Flash media - locally or remotely.  It blocks just the plugin. I do not change my settings.  Firefox does this on their side.  Thank you Firefox.

Unfortunately, it's the way things are now because Flash has had so many problems.  You can try using a different browser with a local test server.  That's all that I can suggest.

  • Adobe Flash Player in Dreamweaver

    Hello!

I have a problem with Dreamweaver on Adobe Flash Player. Indeed, for each of my animations, it marked "Get Adobe Flash Player" so that I have already and the good version...

Could someone explain to me what I need to do please?

Thank you in advance and I hope that I was clear.

Flash was removed from DW because he is no longer is considered a good choice for online entertainment.

Flash is basically dead as far as the vast majority of sites is concerned. Less than half of desktop users have the Flash plugin installed (browsers have been auto-désactivant as well) and close to zero mobile users have the ability to interact with Flash in a website (Adobe ceased Flash for mobile in 2012). The Flash Animate program has also been changed and is no longer focuses on the swf or flv content (if still available).

To reach as wide an audience as possible, you should look into javascript, html5 and css3 for animations.

  • FLV appearing as white box?

I am downloading 2 files flv to our Web site. Both flv files have been published with Media Encoder to be converted to flv. This isn't the first time I downloaded flv files on our site. We add our tv spots through flv, on average, every 2 months or more. The procedure is always the same and I have nothing different with these new flv files. However, this time the flv files are appearing as a white box on our site instead of loading the flv players as usual. The 'live view' in Dreamweaver displays the videos properly... loads of player flv and I can watch television commercials.

I took the two ads out of the page and added an old tv commercial, just to see if it would work, and it has worked flawlessly. But when I put 2 new tv ads, get the white box again. I revisited Media Encoder and redited ads in tv, added land to Dreamweaver and reuploaded ads, but I don't always have the same white box. I compared the old and new TV advertising code, and the code is exactly the same (except for the file name, of course). I checked to see if the new tv commercials were made differently from our "old", and they were not. Swfobject, expressinstall scripts are already uploaded to our site since we use different flash on the site files (don't know if it's even important!). And whenever I download, the download skin and progressive player as well.

I am at a loss! Nothing should change with our hosting company. I took an old, working tv spot on our Web site to present the new. I have no idea where to go from here. The specific page on our site is www.ourphf.com/currentad.html. I tried to download new videos in all sizes from different institutions, thinking maybe it was a question of size. Help, please!

Your video will not appear upward because your SWF file is empty

    http://www.ourphf.com/FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf

What is the real name of your FLV file?

    PHF_ % 231_1-23-13_1

If this isn't the case, you must rename your file without any special characters.
