  Please follow these steps to make sure that the USB is formatted FAT 32.

  MAKE SURE THAT THE DATE AND TIME IS CORRECTLY SET BEFORE RUNNING THIS TOOL. Please make sure that the USB is formatted in FAT 32

  Please follow these steps to clear the BIOS password:

  Save the attached file in this e-mail on USB than SMC. BIN and insert into the system (or save the file to the root of drive d: HP_TOOLS)

  -Press 'Key + arrow UP key + arrow down key Windows' all keys at the same time and turn on the system

  -Release all keys and press F10 at HP logo to go to F10 setup for "Reset BIOS to factory default security"

  Bad UUID is provided

  Try different brands and more small USB key 2 GB or smaller

  USB drive is not formatted FAT32

  BIOS, date and time must be current and up-to-date.

  SCM is disabled in the BIOS.

  I am located in the Japan and I need a SMC.bin file to reset the password of the bios for a 2570p here.

  I contacted the support to the Japan HP, but the only option that they provide is to send the machine and it will cost ~ $160 for repairs.

  I raised a support ticket with HP in the United States - case ID is 4654554531, but they said since the machine is not purchased in the United States, they could not help.

  Could HP want to provide me with a file SMC.bin so that I can reset the password using the procedure described here:

• Presario Q61: BIOS lost password

  Need help please, I can't access the bios on this laptop. I posted a message earlier on this issue, but inaccurate reports typo in the password number. It should have been 60687364. Gezahegn please how can I get into the BIOS to remove the passwords. The number you gave me is not working, I'm sure that for that reason. I replied to your response on my post, but nothing has changed in a few days, so I thought that a new position could do the trick.

  The key is that there is no work around for a forgotten password or unknown supervisor. This situation requires a replacement of the system board.
