Font scale/meter size

I've always used OSX Mail. When I decided to switch to Thunderbird, I installed and opened, when I got to compose my first message, I couldn't find the simplest in the world the thing in an e-mail program that is the size of the font.

It really makes Thunderbird look cheap, some organizations require a font size, and we can not use Thunderbird for this!

I really wish that it is added to the next version, so I can move to Thunderbird.

Thank you.

Yours is a common request, but I do not think that those who ask have been conditioned by other mail clients to believe that the sizes are useful or reliable in particular email and digital messages in general.

I maybe need 16pt type on my screen based on my view. It would be discourteous of me to that cause all my correspondents. So I can dial by using a large screen font, but by setting the markup of message to specify the way, I know that it will be shown to any size the recipient likes or chooses to use. Similarly, your message to me, if the average value when you compose, allows your message to shown to me to whatever font size, I usually use. In any case, Thunderbird lets me ignore and override both your choice of fonts and the font size, if absolutely necessary.

Most of us who use Thunderbird do so precisely the modules and the opportunity that they give us to adapt it to our own needs or preferences. Use of modules is inherent in the product, and this intentional design feature will not go away. If you are really worried about "third party" components, then Thunderbird may well not suit you, and I think it's fair to raise this issue at the outset.

I hope that you will come to appreciate is strong points and even to consider the two Add-ons, I have suggested, since they can automate or simplify the definition of a specific font size company. Either way, stationery is one of the few places in Thunderbird where you can set the size of the font in points instead of pixels.

  • Scale to size of frame with PE8 problems

    I just got a new Sony HDR-XR500V camcorder.  When I render videos in wmv or mpeg format PE8 (using the source of this new camcorder videos), that I will meet one of the two situations.  If I check "Scale image size", then I end up only video that has a large border (on all four sides) - which means that it occupies only a part of the media player screen.  If I uncheck "Scale to frame size" and then I find myself with the video that is seriously cropped on the four sizes - so miss me a large part of the image (but at least until the whole medai player screen).  Is there another setting where I can get it to fill the entire space but not to crop the video?

    Your camcorder is a camcorder AVCHD. You must make sure that when you start a new project in Premiere Elements, you select the AVCHD 5.1 audio project preset.

    If you choose the correct project preset, scale to the size of the image is irrelevant.

    Hello

    It seems that your office did not automatically return to normal after unplugging from the projector. It is easy to return things well.

    Right click on the desktop and select Personalize.

    Click on 'set the font size"at the top left. The value ' Default scale... 96 dpi... "click on apply and OK"

    Click on display settings and make sure that the screen resolution is the correct size for your monitor. This could be the cause of all the questions.

  • How to specify the font type and size (in points)

    I often cut and paste from Word, Excel, or web pages in e-mail messages in TB. TB often done strange things, which the text is copied in it, making the text bigger or smaller and I can't understand how to change it. While I understand how to change the font (through Format |) (Police), the resize options are limited to the x-small, small, medium, etc. (Screen attached). My goal is to have the text I copy matches the size and font that I use to compose the rest of the email, but I find it almost impossible to do when my only options for size are x-small, small, medium, etc. Any suggestions?

    I suggest you paste by using 'paste unformatted' (ctrl + shift + v, or in the edit, or on the context menu) to make any case adopts and adapts to the development shaped by default resident.

    Use of the stationery add-on would allow you to define your styles in points, but I think it's misplaced effort. You have no say in what your correspondents to view your messages, what personal preferences that they apply or what limits their devices assert. Try to fix it with explicit sizes is ultimately useless to your correspondents. 'Medium' means that they see the message to the size that they want, not what you inflict on them.

    Screen resolution refers to the clarity of the text and images on your screen. At higher resolutions, items appear sharper. They appear also smaller, so more items adapted to the screen. At lower resolutions, fewer items adapted to the screen, but they are larger and easier to see. At very low resolutions, however, images may have serrated edges.

  • color of the track, meter size

    Question: Is there a way to set the color of the rail in the recorded track before MTV?

    Question: Is there a way to increase the size of the level display window without clicking "maximize the framework?  I like the "Monitor Input Level" setting, but when I record three titles at the same time, the meters of track are too small to see.  I suppose I could simply switch to the mixer window.

    therealdobro wrote:

    Titles do not have color, it's clips what to do; You can have several colors different clip by track. You can change the color of a clip, while it's recording (the clip properties), but you will not see the effect until he is arrested. And since the clips do not exist until they are saved or put first, then by definition you cannot change their color until here! And color, they are all being recorded is fixed - quite sensible IMHO.

  • Font size of Java?

    Hi, I have a question about the font size.

    First when you create a new font is pt or px size (I think it's pt)

    Then, a web browser has a 16px default font size how do you create a Java font is this size?
    And, how do you scale?

    font.deriveFont (32.0) - is it 32pt or 32px (is this 200% of 16px) how to make 200% of 16px?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Richard

    I came up with a way to get from 16px in pt for a particular screen by the following. I was wondering if there is an easier way?
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.font.*;

    public class Main
    {
        public static void main(String[] args)
        {
            Frame frame = new Frame();
            frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
            frame.setVisible(true);
        }
    }

    class Frame extends JFrame
    {
        public Frame()
        {
            setTitle("Get font px to pt");
            setSize(300,300);
            JPanel panel = new Panel();
            add(panel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
        }
    }

    class Panel extends JPanel
    {
        public void paint(Graphics g)
        {
            Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D)g;
            super.paint(g);
            FontRenderContext context = g2.getFontRenderContext();
            Font font = new Font("Times New Roman", Font.PLAIN,1);
            String test = "A";
            boolean found = false;
            float i = 1.0f;
            while(i < 20.0f && !found)
            {
                Font f = font.deriveFont(i);
                LineMetrics lm = f.getLineMetrics(test, context);
                float h = lm.getHeight();
                if(h >= 16)
                {
                    found = true;
                    g2.drawString("Standard 16px is "+i+"pt", 10, (int)(h+10));
                }
                i += 0.1f;

    A way to generate a font that produces a specific pixel for a certain string height must create a TextLayout to the string object using the base font, use getBounds () .getHeight () on it to find out the height, and then derive a font of this base font which is reduced by a transformation affine height pixels You must use the baseFont.deriveFont (at) corresponding to your affine transformation (that you define to a scaling by the required report). Generate the TextLayout will require a FontRenderContext, that contains the information needed to translate the point size of the font to a height of pixel for the display device.

  • How change the font size screen writing only

    Thunderbird (dial) screen writing allows the choice of fonts for HTML e-mail messages, but no fonts sizes, traditional 'points '. Is there a button up/down on the screen and a configuration option for the small/medium/large, etc.

    By sending me mail and reading in other popular e-mail client, I see that 'medium' is the 12-point type, which is what I want. But when I select medium as my default, the text on the screen of the writing is too small, nowhere close to 12 points by the eyeball. If I make the font bigger on the write screen so I can read it, then it is received like 14 or 18pt.

    There must be a way to choose what you see on the screen of writing, regardless of what is actually encoded as HTML and sent. Of course, I can do Ctrl/Shift / +, and makes the text at the larger screen (leave image intact, thanks!), but it has tiny back the next time I open the program. Is it possible to make this text magnification "stick"?

    'Medium' is reflected by how the client of the recipient is configured to display as usual. Better to leave Thunderbird in this setting.

    For your own needs, however, you can set how Thunderbird displays the content for you and this applies to incoming and outgoing messages.

    Under Tools | Options of, you will find a tab labeled display and under another label formatting. This is where you define how Thunderbird displays the content. Note that it conforms to HTML standards and this sets in pixels, not points.

    Next to the tab view is a named another Composition where you can set the default font to use in your outgoing messages.

    Note that changes are not always immediately apparent. You will need to maybe deselect and re - select a message to see changes in the settings, or at worst, close and re - open Thunderbird.

    I haven't checked recently, but for a long time, Thunderbird would set some font attributes (style, size, weight, etc.), but seems to forget to actually specify the font to use. This resulted in the client of the recipient using the default font. If you are concerned about the definition of a particular font, I'd recommend the add-on of the stationery. Allows you to create templates incorporating the definitions of complete style.

    I would also add that as police in the e-mail settings are optional and can be replaced by the recipient or his mail client, don't worry too much about if it's perfect. Non-standard fonts, you can have and use do not appear on another computer where they or effective equivalents, are not installed. Stick to what is called "web-safe" fonts and colors if you do not want surprises.
