• Align with the graphic point nearest

• Is there a reason why certain numbers automatically generated do not align with the text?

I'm building a small book in InDesign and generated chapter numbers only display correctly aligned with the text of the chapter into two chapters. In others, they are slightly lower than the base line and print that way. They all use the same format title and list paragraph. (I even checked the Master Pages for objects that drag may interfere and see nothing.) Someone has seen this and can point me to a solution? The original document was from the Pages converted to MS Word, so I tried to see if there are some strange characters which came with the conversion, but as you can see on the screenshot below, nothing shows up. Any help to identify the problem or a cure would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a chapter that is displayed not correctly, and it is the base character Format options.

• Illustrator aligns with the pixel & changes the path?

I work with paths are for some reason strange and annoying, snaps to the pixel grid. I have even the 'Snap to Pixel' off and the traces are changed by the Illustrator so they dynamic enters the pixel grid. I've never experienced this before where illustrator actuall moving anchor points where he wants. Here is an example of what is going on (this happens in the raster preview and normal preview):

Here is a vector path on a grid created to show where the pixels are:

preview_02469.png

I select the object swap FILLING in the RACE and immediately you can see that illustrator changed the location of the paths:

preview_02470.png

I share the RACE to FILL and it alters the paths still more!

preview_02471.png

Here's another example:

The paths are not clearly aligned with the pixel grid, but illustrator is trying everything possible to make the line of pixels to the top. (This image has "Quick align inside" and is previewing rasterized).

preview_02467.png

Same thing but pixel not preview. Super weird behavior:

preview_02466.png

Will there be some sort of setting in the preferences of masters that is causing this behavior? I did this wink on the grid and snap to pixel is turned off and rest nothing will do. Anyone encountered this?

Thank you!

I'm assuming that CS5 because you are talking to match the pixel grid. Is this correct?

Possible bug, but...

I can easily reproduce this problem with a small graphic and align on grid of pixels. If I disable snap to grid of pixels (in the transformation Panel) the problem disappears.

Note there must be a very small chart for the question to stand.

Are you sure you want to align the grid of pixels off?

If so, you might try trashing your file.

• Is it possible to align with the edge of a STROKE?

It automaticly sanps in the middle of a stroke s, o cutting for example, you get a line cut in two.

As far as I know, the only way to align with the edge of a stroke is by describing it with benchmarks commented under tension.

Of course, you can make a temporary copy of the race using Cmd - F or Cmd - B to keep it in the right place, align on that and then delete the copy.

In this example the angles of the pink triangles align on the path statement.

• C660 - 10 d should work with the single module of RAM to 8 GB?

I have a single module of RAM to 8 GB which works very well in Satellite C640, but does not work in my C660 - 10 d.
Should C660 work with a single 8 GB RAM module, or are you to have 4 GB x 2?
Any advice much appreciated.
(The module is Transcend JetRam PC3 10600 (DDR3 1333) 8GB)

Hello

The question should be: is the Satellite C660 - 10 d supports 8 GB of RAM?

According to the information that is on the internet, the C660 - 10 d is supported by the Chipset Mobile Intel (r) GL40 Express.

This chipset supports only 4 GB of RAM and finally, you can use DDR2 modules 512 MB / 1 GB / 2 GB 667 MHz to extend the RAM

• How the devs should interact with the db?

Nice day. For some time, my organization has worked as do most small shops: developers web and software, connect to the database and create their own views of procs, etc.. However, we are moved to a much longer staff and have begun the process of transition to a more "professional" store

In your experience, how should web/software developers (and their products) interact with the production database? In other words, should send their views to the DBA who will create these views? Or must they be connect not seen at all? If they have their own scheme on the production database (and this will be one who holds views)?

If you say that the developers have absolutely no access to the production db at all, then how their products need to interact with the database?

I appreciate links, advice, etc.

Thank you.

EDIT: developers products are about 75 percent read only search/reports apps and 25% data entry.

The answer to what level of privileges, the developers have depends in part on which development work your employer does.

In General, you can grant broad object creation and modification privileges in an environment but the need to severely restrict the privileges in the production of unit tests. Where and how well it depends on if you have separate databases for the unit test-online production; unit test-online test-online production system; or unit test-online test system-online quality control-online production and on how many DBA of your firm employees. So if the DBA are segmented in infrastructure and applications support roles.

If you are the only DBA then developers must create privileges. If there are a dozen DBA so developers can submit requests for changes to object and get acceptable turn.

In General, I think you want at least 3 databases and you want to control the promotion of changes to the object in the system test and from there into production.

• now shift aligns with the weird angle

I'm in the middle of creating a logo, that is overdue, and suddenly I can't make a straight line. When I hold the SHIFT key while dragging my line that she break, but not right! The little info box I made dragging the line (with shift) readings 0º or if I move it down a bit he clings to the 315º, but this obviously isn't 0º is snaps to the. I can't make even a straight square or rectangular face with SHIFT, they all align with a weird, asymmetrical angle. Some people have the direct problem form where shift does not produce a wink to all... mine IS slam & SAID 0º, so it must be right, but it is not at all. Same ellipses are spread when I hold SHIFT. It's like the grid when haywire! And if I'm eyeball to a straight line the little info tag says it's to 338º, instead of 0º.

I created a new document, and that one works fine. Maj snaps my straight line & all my squares and rectangles and ellipses are perfectly straight. So, what was wrong in my original file? A I touched a button command that I'm not familiar with which screw up in my network? Below you can see what a change of product portfolio you can see the tag info I drag my line while now shift that's snapping at 0º, it says. THAT looks like a straight line of 0º?

• Clip aligns with the bottom rail

All of a sudden, when I move a clip in the timeline, the clip is aligned with cross-country in the sequence. It makes me crazy! I turned on and outside snap, nothing works. What is happening?

No. I would literally try to move the video clip, located on V2, to the right or left and she could give in to V1. This would force any clip on another element down to the lower level, removing the lower clip. I threw my preferences and it fixed the problem. No idea of what was going on...

• Object will not align with the guide in my document.

I'm working on a chart and eventually align parts with a guideline. And the graphics keep bouncing off the guideline to the left or to the right, up and down as I drag the object to the guides. I use Illustrator CC14 on a Macbook with OS X 10.9.2. Not sure if you prefer that I have to turn on or off. I turned off the snap to point and snap to grid. Help. Thanks in advance.

IvyLeaf,

In such cases, the first assumption is aligned to the pixel grid

You can select the entire document and untick finally align on the pixel grid in the transform palette and uncheck also align new objects to the pixel grid in the options of the Launcher.

You can avoid the types of documents with the default (RGB for the web and other) or change the default value for such documents.

• The objects are no longer self-aligning with the other

Hello

I am new to Adobe Illustrator CS4 and are in desperate need of expertise. I think settings got messed with, because now whenever I move an object, he tries is more 'auto align' with close objects or borders. I don't know how this feature is called, but it is when a smaller circle type of "jump" at the center of a larger circle, or I think that it will also show when limits are tangent.

My apologies for my noobishness, but how can I activate this return? I find the program very difficult to use without it.

Many blessings for your generous explanation and kindness.

• Nested tables will not align with the primary table

Hi all. Looks like I am facing another obstacle focus on the table. While I was creating one of my pages, I used nested tables to create a column on the left side of the page that will contain my menu secondary, while the other column will hold a flash element and the content of the page.

Although I have inserted tables nested with a spacing of the cell '0' and '0' cell padding and Visual AIDS seem to indicate that the values in the nested table are identical with the primary table who is the holder, the nested table that will contain the film and the page content is not embedded with the table above. It seems to be off by 1-2 pixels or more, but since there will be a right on the image under the menu is quite obvious.

I enclose the code for your information (line 165, 166).

Thank you for your time and your suggestions. I really appreciate it.

• Manage identities does not 'from' addy align with the "sent to" addy when replying

I just installed 24.6 and used the 'import' of Eudora. Everything seemed to move pretty well, but I can't understand the ' sent to '. I tried in "manage identities", does not. The problem is you answer a list of mail and thunderbird wants to insert my dominant addy instead of the address who sent the original e-mail. It is a problem when the identity must be subscribed/registered.

He does not do it every time, sometimes it inserts the correct answer "from". Cannot make sense.

Something to do with the import?

something to do with where you are in the folder hierarchy.

This account will be the default SMTP is used when the selected account is unknown, so if you have a list of e-mail account and move them e-mails in local folders to the selected SMTP server will be the value by default, where as if you are in the folder of the account the SMTp response. It goes the same for identities.

I suddenly can't get the node from the corner of a rectangle to coincide with the upper left corner of the artboard - it compensates by 0.5 px both ways. Tried to quit and restart.
