  It will not matter which drive sata hard speed you get, because they adjust automatically to the maximum capacity of the controller.  In other words, you can get a SATA III (6.0 Gbit/s) drive, which runs to the SATA II (3.0 Gbps) speed of the controller.

  I have a HP Pavilion a6519fh desktop pc while the CD/DVD writer no longer works. I looked on the internet and found 2 that still carry the spare part (engraver of CD/DVD of HP RX881-69001) to 89.00 and other 181.00! I don't think so. Do anyone know of a CD/DVD burner compatible that I could replace it with but for less money then a replacement would cost. I have same need lightscribe. Thanks in advance :))

  The package contains the F6hlpy folder that contains the files needed for the SATA.

  These files must be included for the Windows XP CD using free software called nLite.

  As far as I know this laptop Satellite A300D-15B was equipped with AMD chipset and therefore the SATA driver should be part of the ATI graphic driver.

  But you can also install the Win XP without the SATA drivers.

  First of all - the motherboard SATA profits are found down in the lower image irght on THIS PAGE.

  second - the power connector can be a bit harder to find.  If there is no other power SATA cables, then maybe an adapter will help you.  If there is a spare Molex power connector, you will need an adapter SIMILAR TO THE.  If not, then maybe A SPLITTER would be an option.

  Third - SATA drives should not normally the master/slave settings.

  As long as the ordinary reader works, then the added disc must be considered as additional storage space.  Assuming that MS 7 means that Windows 7, then it should recognize the drive.  It may take formatted to be usable.
