benchmark

Hi all

I was trying to make my own "benchmarking program.

to see if my code can become faster.

I already have a vi, see the attachment.

The strange part is that it gives 0.0000000000 for the following program:

Is there a problem in my code?

Or is my pc too fast

Koen

I think it's too fast, just try it:

    Hi, really of struggling to find an answer to this on the HP website.  I'm trying to know if HP to perform benchmarking third-party software services running on HP hardware?

    Background is that I work for a company IT Council and we have developed a software that is platform-independent.  We need to get performance benchmarked and assisted / validated by a credible global entity.

    What is HP provides to their laboratories?

    Thank you, Mark.

    Hi Dennis, thanks for the reply.  HPE provide actually this function through the program started and the test center access drive.

    We have our software loaded up in a Linux environment there are currently and is return it try now.

    It was a very difficult task finding all this though!

  • Satellite R830 - low CPU benchmark

    Hello

    I tested my R830 Satellite with index WEI W7. In this benchmark CPU index was 6.9.

    I installed Windows 7 64-bit clean to my R830-PT32LE (i5 - 2410M).

    I installed most of the applications and drivers. After that the installation when I spot again CPU index was 5.2.
    (Reference WEI has been done with the power settings and adapter is connected)

    I think it's really 5.2 because its slower than before. Other WEI, I have test it with some other applications of CPU benchmark, and each of them gave this kind of small numbers.

    What is the problem? Is it possible if I forgot to install driver if I get this kind of performance?

    > I installed most of the applications and drivers.
    And what is missing?

    Is that all the drivers, tools, and utilities should / must be installed in the proper installation order.
    BTW: what version of Win7 do you currently use? Maybe ultimate?

  • structure of flat sequence for benchmarking

    Hello

    Maybe this is very obvious, but I don't completely understand something with the sequence flat structures-FSS (I never use this structure by the way and I don't you not why they use it in this example).

    There's a doc OR online explaining some mistakes of rookie in LV:

    http://www.NI.com/newsletter/51735/en/

    The doc has described that the FSS is useful for benchmarking, the BD:

    My question: what if we put the number of cycles in a Subvi left and right and giving the exec. order with wires of the error? Or using a while loop that runs only once (with sons of error through)?

    These 3 different ways are the same?

    Yes, you can do all these things - I think that the only thing to keep in mind is that you do not want your benchmarking code to affect the speed of the code - otherwise, you'll get inaccurate results. If you use the while loop, you will need to do something to make sure your second number of cycles will run after your time loop - for example with FSS

    Flat sequence structure using is OK - it's overuse of it which is a common rookie mistake - trying to force things to run in a specific order (for example if from a text based on the sequential programming language) instead of understanding that this is done by data flow in LabVIEW.

    I think that the reason is simply because the number of cycles VI doesn't have an entry so you cannot apply data flow. It is common to have a Subvi, which encapsulates the number of cycles VI with error/output wire.

    I ran cpu benchmarks under xp on a pent. 4 @ 3 GHz and an i5 quad processor. @ 2.9 ghz and got almost the same results.

    However when I run the same test on the i5 quad. processor the platform of windows 7, I get 3.5 times the speed.

    Hi carlcrone,

    What version of Service Pack is installed on your computer?

    Windows XP supports quad core processors. I recommend you to ask your question to TechNet for assistance.

  • can I set benchmarks when you use Windows Live Movie Maker?

    Between mic input and my sound card got cracked or damaged somehow through much use over 3 years ago. I have a Compaq C700CTO w. prcessors (Pentium) of intel 2 x 1.73 GHz, 2 GB of RAM. The card is a Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221. I applied a touch of glue to audio for headphones/output to stabilize because I use constantly for recording sound and it worked fine. Due to the problem with the audio/mic input (the microphone gives a record crackling whenever the amplitude is close to max), I am recording the sound of my videos with a Sandisk mp3 player and I want to sync the audio with the video file. Adobe Audition allows me to edit the audio to make it to the starting point after that I cut the sounds of preparation, but I can't figure out how to set a landmark in Live Movie Maker program without calling the start or endpoint. Is there another way to set a landmark in Live Movie Maker? I can probably use hearing to edit video too but have not always taken the habit to use it for something other than the audio editing and mixing if registered clips separately. Thank you from any point of view on Movie Maker.       DL

    You cannot set benchmarks in WLMM.

    Audition is an audio editing application, so won't edit video.

    If you use a Clap to give you a strong a few applause you will find it easy to synchronize the separate audio and video using this noise, then cut an equal amount to get rid of it in your final cut.

  • Doubts on WTC tail bridge benchmarking and using OTMQ on JCA

    Todd and his team, Hello,

    I need your help in two points. The first, is more a question of a problem. Regarding the bridge WTC queue, you have no point of comparison or the performance reports on the numbers of served by the Server transaction, so we can have a view on what are its capabilities under a heavy load of queries?

    Is the second is, in a JCA adapter, possible for me to call the OTMQ functions like tpattach and tpenqplus? They are part of the com.oracle.tuxedo.adapter.cci package? Can you help me please on this?

    Thank you very much.

    brunno Attorre

    Hi Brunno,

    I'm not sure I've seen a benchmark made precisely the tBridge (WTC Queuing Bridge).  I can tell you that in its current state, the tBridge uses only one thread by redirect.  So I guess you could try to add additional redirects to get additional threads, treatment queues, even if I have not tried it myself.

    About the adapter JCA and OTMQ, to the best of my knowledge, it accesses only compatible features / q OTMQ, then it would be tpenqueue() and tpdequeue().  Please note that you have imported the remote name of queuespace as a service.  What characteristics of OTMQ were you wanting to use it beyond what compatibility/q offer?

    Kind regards

  • Performance and benchmarking tools for short

    We are in the phase of Performance & Benchmarking of our short 3.0 - 9.2 PeopleSoft project. We use CloverETL to import data from a view TFTP to short. We load a large amount of data to really test the limits of short (approx. 50million rows). We use Integrator Server to run the ETLs, but the newspaper which is produced from the Integrator server is not very useful. Can anyone recommend a performance and a benchmarking tool for short that could give her more information on where time is spent during the ETL process?  It must also produce numbers of short Studio reference for large volumes of data. Does anyone know of a benchmarking tool that can give us specific times to set up a page in short (other than a stopwatch) Studio?

    For details about the time of request and response of Studio, you can enable performance metrics/logging.  View the monitoring query performance: configuration of the amount of data of registration measures [1] for more details.

  • How to find benchmarks

    Hello

    I'm trying to run 'index' for my simple Indesign to html conversion tool and I'm totally confused on how to do it and with the management of this "index" extendscript So here's (a lot of) questions about this:

    1. When I'm traveling all characters in a paragraph, how can I identify 'benchmarks '? RegExp, specialCharacter...? * Answer me * working with Grep search for "\~I."
    2. After found a 'mark of index' how can we if find the associated "topic"?
    3. If it can be that a single "index" in a document, why is there a property "index"?
    4. What is a 'indexSection?

    Hope that there will be someone to free my mind

    Thank you very much

    Sebastian,

    If the writers are not stubborn that they will never get their script problems solved! A note on terminology: ExtendScript, incidentally is just JavaScript. What you mean is the InDesign object model.

    It is true that when you select an index mark in text, and you have the Index opened Panel, the referenced topic is highlighted in the Panel. But that is not exposed to scripts, i.e. the character object is not a property "subject to". However, you can determine the subject of the selected marker, even if it's a pretty laborious method. Index markers are characters of the text, so that they have a history of parent and an index. pageReferences have a sourceText property, which is an insertion point. To find the subject of an index mark, you must compare the insertion point of the marker with the insertion of the pageReferences points.

    The feature that miss you - by selecting an index mark so that its parent theme is selected in the Index panel - can be scripted as follows:

    $.writeln (findTopic (app.selection[0]).name);

    function findTopic (marker) {
        var topics = app.documents[0].indexes[0].allTopics;
        var mStory = marker.parentStory;
        var mIndex = marker.insertionPoints[0].index;
        var pRefs;
        for (var i = topics.length-1; i >= 0; i--) {
            pRefs = topics[i].pageReferences.everyItem().getElements();
            for (var j = pRefs.length-1; j >= 0; j--){
                if (pRefs[j].sourceText.parentStory == mStory && pRefs[j].sourceText.index == mIndex) {
                    return pRefs[j].parent;
                }
            }
        }
        return "";
    }

    Select an index mark in a text and run the script (it does not select anything in the Panel, of course). Now, if you have several index markers, then looping through them to find their topic names could in principle be made as follows:

    app.findGrepPreferences = null;
    app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = '~I';
    markers = app.documents[0].findGrep();
    for (var i = markers.length-1; i >= 0; i--) {
        $.writeln (findTopic (markers[i]).name);
    }

    But it would be horribly inefficient (very specific). Better to first to build a table of choice of the pageReferences and their sourceText index history IDs so that you can quickly find topic names.

    Your particular approach - to loop through all the characters - needs a bit of a change in what you have to compare each character at index.

    Something like this:

    for (var i = 0; i < myChars.length; i++) {
       if (myChars[i].contents == '\uFEFF') {  // myChar is probably an index marker
          var topic = (findTopic (myChars[i]).name);
          if (topic != "") {
              $.writeln (topic);
          }
       }
    }

  • hardware benchmarking?

    Hello

    I wonder if I can get any comparative analysis on the number of images I can run simultaneously on a given element of the material.

    I have a desktop with windows vista. It is a core 2 duo with 4 GB of RAM, I can run two virtual machines on this computer using VMware workstation

    I have another system (POC) which is quad core with 8 GB of RAM. It's an ESXi host, I can run around 6 virtual machines simultaneously on this issue.

    I am looking to buy a real server with two processors 6core and 32 GB of RAM. Storage will be external in the configuration of the NAS. I won't go into the details here. But how can I have a rough estimate on the number of virtual machines, I can run on this system at the same time?

    I forgot to add that may also interest you to the vmmark.

  • using benchmarks to change a text box

    OK, I had a simlar question before but I always have problems to work.

    I have a video with 11 points of reference and I want the type to change text to each benchmark to each cuepint.

    When the video does not play, I want a textbox to change the text when the cue point 1 is reached. This is the code that I use. But everything is still all right to the what is the last text functions and ignore all the others before it. Its bassically this code repeated with the name of function available and strings.

    Import fl.video.MetadataEvent;

    flvplayer.addEventListener (MetadataEvent.CUE_POINT, section2Cue);

    function section2Cue(event:MetadataEvent):void {}

    for (var String = "section 2" in event.info) {}

    Typebox.Text = "Hello";                        }

    }

    So basically I mean flash, when CuePoint1 is reached text = "hello world" and when CuePoint2 is reached I want text = 'Hello Again '. I don't know what I'm doing wrong or what is the best way to tell flash how to proceed

    You should have cuepoint that one only listener and a listener function:

    Import fl.video.MetadataEvent;

    flvplayer.addEventListener (MetadataEvent.CUE_POINT, section2Cue);

    function section2Cue(event:MetadataEvent):void {}

    Typebox.Text = event.info.name;    It is not clear what your cuepoint size you want to display, but it is a start.  If this isn't what you want, show your cuepoint data.

    }

    How can I print to PDF with FrameMaker 10 on Windows 7 64 - bit OS. I need benchmarks. I can save as a PDF, but the registration mark not displayed. When I print to PDF, no file is generated. When I print to a file ps with distilling and registration of marks on it, recording brands still do not appear.

    Adobe has this problem before? I think that their desktop publishing tool would be able to print to PDF and print to PDF with check marks! Otherwise, how a document can get print production?

    seems that you have not installed the current patches.

    Please check this with the Help menu > about FrameMaker.

    The current Version is 10.0.2

    And if you ' r runnung 10.0.0 installing current hotfixes.

    I think that this problem has been resolved in 10.0.1.

  • CS5 Benchmark with PPBM4

    This is a double post here many readers don't necessarily read the Hardware forum

    Prejudice CS5 benchmark with PPBM4 beta is now available!  WOW!  And all this improvement without CUDA graphics card so when we see the Mercury playback engine additional improvement is sure to appear.  Adobe must have hired a great team/expert multithreading.  Congratulations Adobe.  It must have hurt the performance of disk slightly, but that is a small trifle.  He has reduced his time coding MPEG under CS4 24.6 seconds to 6.4 seconds in CS5, near 200% faster!

    Yes there will probably be a new PPBM5 and when it will include H.264 Blu - ray encoding and will have a segment of AVCHD.  Because I don't have CS5, you may have to wait a while.
