Forced ignoring update changed variables FM

Environment: Tech Comm Suite, fully patched (FM 8, 7 HR)
Location: HR project based on a book by FM added by reference.
What's happening: in this project, the variables change value only. (there is no new that is added and no deleted, but their values change.) During a forced update, HR does not update the values of the variables FM.
Comment: The project attributes are stored in the apj files and style sheets. What are (rightly) left intact during an update. Variables stored in rhvariable.apj should be updated, perhaps eventually.
Solution: Create several versions of rhvariable.apj and copy one hand in the project directory.

Does anyone know a better way?

As a result of the foregoing: rename file PDC (and so generate a new) made no difference.

Adding a new variable before the update doesn't make any difference.

Remove BOTH the PDC and the rhvariable.apj solved the problem file.

Conclusions:
1. the load/update product first of all of the *.apj (and other system files).
2. It then caches in the file of the CPD, presumably for performance reasons.
3. I've noticed that (as the new I defined above), the variables that are not actually referenced in the project documents, not get pulled.
4. to change from something strength *.apj, you use the process described above.
5. the above does not have OCD, layout index. HR rebuilt the FM, and all customizations must be restored by hand. If there is no structural changes in the project, you can get away with replacing *.hhc files and backups *.hhk.

  • The Installation of VMWare tools failed. In any case to force the update/install VMWare tools?

I used to use VMware Workstation 10 and recently upgraded to VMware workstation 11.  However, whenever I try to install a newer version of VMware tools, it will fail with message saying something like "VMware Tools can be installed in the Virtual Machine.

Yes, I am trying to install VMware Tools within the guest operating system, but I get this notification for all my virtual machines, I'm running.

I'm under 6 Virtual Machines simultaneously and they run on Windows 7 32 bit OS and configured with 4 GB of RAM, 1CPU, 100GB HD + 5 GB second HD for the swap file, NO printer, no sound card.

For each virtual machine, I changed about 50 + key of Windows registry and detect the values to hide from all the programs that they are running on the virtual machine.

I assume due to records, I changed, it confuses VM installer who it is not running on a Virtual Machine.  Then I tried to change all these registers changed to send it back to the original value, yet I is always the same message.

I must be missing either some registry values or values that I restored is false. But I don't know which is the case.

I can simply delete all my Virtual Machines and start again with the new virtual machine, but I don't want to repeat this process whenever a newer version of the VM tools out. and installation of windows and search and replace registry values for each virtual computer is full of works.

So, here is my question.  Anyone know how to force the update / install VM tools in my virtual machine?

P.S. I added under scripts in the file .vmx for each of the virtual machines.  I don't think it would cause the problem but just in case I include it.

  • Help to update session variables

I have a page "update account" where a user can update their account. I am using session variables, but may not know how to perform the update and reset session variables. Of course, if a user is on the site, session variables are used, so I'm confused.

I posted a similar message a few weeks back, but never had what I was looking for. In any case, I've posted the code below with a few notes:

I have attached the code, it is quite long.

You can see that I want to use a single page (action = "#CGI.script_name #"), but having to do with a second page would agree. Also, I'm not updated each variable field and database session. For example, the fields JoinDate and birth date and session variables are left alone.

    Thank you.

Doug, I have probably 20 different books, I need to read, still only use them for reference, so I know what you're saying...

you want to store all this information of Member to the sessions, that's what I say...
in the table of your members, your Member ID (what is a user name or an incremented number?) either or, you can save that, as the single session var. so whenever you need to refer to it, have a query to get...

SELECT FullName, username, password, SecurityQuestion, SecurityAnswer, Email, Email2, date of birth, address.
Address2, city, region, PostalCode, country, phone, telephone2, PostalCode2, list mailing, MemberID, Mem berRoleID
    Members
    WHERE MemberID = #SESSION. Member ID #.

But whatever it is, that this number can NEVER change, they must never have the opportunity to change it. This is their unique identifier, even better, you can store it in a COOKIE on their machine so he can remember who they are when they come to the site.

using this method, when a user needs to update their information, their cookie or session.memberid never changes, and there is no need to change in the workplace application session variables. Just do a query UPDATE to update your database and a query on the db to get the information from user with their uniqueID

  • [Depressed] Due to the cannot update/change my card wireless dv8000t

My HP pavilion dv8000t Intel 3945abg pci-e wireless card died a week ago and I want to upgrade to Intel5300agn because it supports Wireless-N much faster than G.

However, I got a 104 error messeage: unsupported material and never boot into windows.

I checked the internet and understood this limited HP than dv8000t support Intel3945 abg only bios.

I don't know the reason behind this, however, whatever the reason, it is totally unacceptable.

You cannot update/change the brand of the wifi card, it's the most ridiculous thing that I have experienced in my life of the computer.

I'm a fan of HP and I always recommend my fds HP and they trust in me and buy HP laptops that I am the head of the spirit of my circle.

Unfortunately, after this time, I can't buy any laptop of HP unless HP change their policy which is to give the user benefits from upgrading their equipment.

HP must indicate the parts that customers of can/Can ' t make clear in their brochure. I wouldn't buy this dv8000t if I know that I can not update/change my wireless card.

One more thing, it is that the total customer care serivces is crap.

Sharon of the team don't even know not dv8000t is intel based from the model number. I must give a conference to tell him how HP named their laptops.

dv8000 (T), T for intel cpu dv8000 (Z), Z is AMD processor-based. I really doubt on the quality of the knowledge of their own products customer service team.

    A frustrated customer.

You can also use usb adaptors as well for the wireless, it doesn't have to be an internal card. But you can be upset by a manufacturer to support only the card with which he delivered. These aren't desktop computers.

  • Updates change the resolution

The last two times that installed Windows automatic updates, the next time I used the computer, the resolution was changed to one that is less than the optimum for Windows Vista.  I did a system restore every time to solve the problem, because it was easier than trying to figure out how to reset the resolution.  Why do auto update change my resolution?

    To change your display resolution:

    1. right click on the desktop and select "personalize".

    2. click on "Display settings" at the bottom.

    3. in the window that appears, move the slider to change your resolution. If you don't know what you want, try to drag the increment of a cursor at a time and by clicking on 'Apply' at the bottom to try the resolution. Note: If you change the resolution to one that is not supported by your monitor and your screen becomes black or displays an error message, DO NOT PRESS ANYTHING! Wait 15 to 20 seconds and the display will return to a compatible resolution.

Now that you know how to change your resolution, you can feel free to install updates in the future.

    Hope this fixes your problems,

    Rifdhan

  • How to confirm or force the update of the bios

I made an update of the bios on my system of 4058-CTO W500, but he is stopped at half way through the ' writing block x of y "Countdown.  Is only the approximately 35 65 and suddenly closed bios window and start the system closing.  He took a /long/ time (about 10 minutes) to complete the shutdown of Windows, but finally made it.

The system seems to be ok - it restarted, got to the bios screen a couple of times and restarted each time back, then started upward in Windows.  Is this a normal behavior?  Is there a method to check that the bios everything is indeed correct or perhaps force the update again?

I have the files .iso and .exe for the update of the bios, but when I run the .exe, I get a message that the bios is updated to alread - done this review done watching the whole bios to see if it is correct, or is it just the version number...  I have not tried running the update .iso - type of hope for some feedback before I do.

In any case – all entries and thoughts are welcome.

    I agree with Moskito.

If this can help you to sleep better at night, back-in the previous version... and then to the high-flash BIOS flash it again.  But I highly recommend you do so through the ISO version... take the OS completely out of the equation.

-Restart in Boot Clean with Services MS no disabled state

    -Updated Troubleshotter

    -System Restore (3 weeks)

  • Updates to Windows 8 - "Configuration of the Windows updates, changes in restoration failure"

    Hello

Recently I finally got my laptop back from repairs after 6 weeks. Now, it is in a 'clean' State (aka factory settins).

I wanted to get to 8.1 Windows as soon as possible, but for this I need to be on the latest version of Windows 8.

So I then try to run "Windows Update" and let it install all updates recommended. He manages to download all updates,

and then he tries to configure these. About 98% or 99%, it gives the following message:

'Configuration of the Windows updates, changes back failure'

It then goes in an infinite loop constantly, he ran for hours and hours without having passed this screen.

So far, the only solution is to reset it to factory settings, which brings me to the point before that I try to update, so it is not move me.

I've tried so far, but no luck what follows:

    • http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-windows_update/failure-configuring-Windows-updates-reverting/16219e5c-564b-4310-9f68-c9d595bb4cbe?page=1
    • http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

None of them has worked so far.

    To be clear:

It is an OEM license. This doesn't mean no DISC, nor any ISO/Exe could work that they do not accept the product key.

Many other people have the same problem.

Please, I'm at a loss to date.

    Yours Sincerely,

    Leon

    Hi all

Seems that I myself have found a potential workaround.

Install only the KB2871389 allowed me to grab the download of Windows the Windows store 8.1.

Then, I could install Windows 8.1 without a hitch and it normally seems using Windows Updater runs from there on.

It is not yet a waterproof solution to water / final of 100%, but it seems to work for me.

I hope this will help someone else with the same problem!

    Yours Sincerely,

    Leon

  • force an update of the topology

    Hello people,

I was wondering if there is a way to force an update of the topology without restarting the FMS.

I encountered this problem a few times now, on different hosts FMS, here's the scenario:

A new script agent is built and pushed out creates a new type of topology. Everything seems OK until you try to create a new rule for this. The type of topology is not available for the scope of the rule.

If anyone else has experienced this? I brought this to support previously and we restarted just the FMS to work around the problem. Is there some other way around him? Of course, we want to keep the downtime to a minimum, especially with production systems...

Support the groovy code to achieve what I thought I would share with the community...

This forces an update on a specified type so that the topology Service updates the cached information.

In this case, we were unable to field of application of the rule properly at a table of script agent, received unknown root of the error.

If the table is missing in the drop-down list, I would first try to disable and re-enable the corresponding cartridge. Manually by typing in the scope sometimes also works.

Use: To run the Script Console. UpdateType true & TypeName and subject of topology - for agents of script, it should be: agentName_Agent_Table_tableName
