'Foreign' status on the drive to reinstall?

That means what it means when I reinstall a drive failed, and rather than entering a reconstruction, it shows the State as 'foreign' and the only thing I can do with the disc from OMA's blink eyes or of Nations United-blink the drive?

KBeau

You will need clear the foreign configuration, reconfigure the disk as a hot spare and the rebuild will begin.

Clear foreign configuration: select the OpenManage controller, go to the "Information/setting", "Controller"tasks"tab select 'Configiration overseas Operations', click 'run '.  On the next page, click 'clear '.

To reconfigure spare: switch to "Physical disk" display, on the 'available' for this reader task, select "assign Global hot spare."

I have this drive is the same type (SAS vs SATA), with a capacity equal to or greater and there is no other VDs degraded on the controller, the reconstruction will start.

  • LaserJet P1006 cannot uninstall the driver to reinstall

    Cannot get Windows to recognize the P1006 8.1.  It worked fine in Windows 8.

    So when I try to uninstall the driver, I see that the driver is not listed in "Programs and features", or the printer is in "Printers" in the Panel.

    How can I uninstall the driver to reinstall if it does not appear anywhere?

    Thank you

    Rich S.

    Hi RichS_

    It seems that the print driver usb support is not fully install correctly.

    We will have this resolved yet.

    See if the printer will print a material as self-test.

    While the printer is turned on, open and close the lid quickly five times.

    It should display a page with black lines on it.

    I would like to know if it printed?

    With the printer still connected to the computer, return to Device Manager and see what it shows listed for the printer. Example, another unknown device, under universal bus controllers does show the usb printing support?

    Let me know.

    Try to enter the computer, windows, program files or program files x 86, hp, laserjet p1006 to see if it is listed. If it is not open the folder and run the full uninstall from there after disconnecting the usb cable.

    Reinstall the driver downloaded again.

    Let me know all this, so I can help you better.

  • Can not find the driver to reinstall Vista

    A few days earlier, some spyware masquerading as antivirus program itself wrote to my computer. We did a job of restoration with the emachines operating system provided with the computer disc. Now, my computer knows unique mistakes, such as the software does not download properly. We managed to get the spy software on the computer, and I had an antivirus program installed when this all happened.

    Now I want to reinstall Windows Vista. The implementation works well until we get to the part "select a driver." First of all, I've never done this before, so I have no idea what the driver is if it is already on my computer. I tried the C, D, E and F same (removable disk) players, and it would not accept these. I started to pull down randomly in the drop-down menus and records randomly picking. Yes, he did not like these either.

    I tried to insert a flash drive, without success. Tried a blank CD, without success. I tried the disk operating system machines, and it was not accepted.

    So, now, I don't know what to do. (BTW, I found a Norton internet security CD I didn't know I had, so let's install that after I have work on all this other stuff.) In addition, the amount of RAM is recommended for Vista? "I have only 1 GB of RAM).

    You will need to contact eMachines to the above link to problems with their software/recovery process.

  • Status of the HP LaserJet 4V driver for Windows 7 (64-bit)

    After checking the compatibility of Windows 7 for my printer HP LaserJet 4V printer purchased a new PC HP Pavilion.  Site Web of Windows 7 from Microsoft said it WAS compatible.  However, after buying the new PC and try to locate the driver 64 bit LaserJet 4V, I find that the site HP Web says that there is NO DRIVER.  So for now I can't install or use my printer LaserJet 4V range.

    LaserJet 4V connection will be via the EtherNet Port on my Cisco/Linksys WRT610 of router for sharing between a couple of PCs.

    Is anyone know the real status of the driver or why MS shows the LaserJet 4V is compatible and HP implies the absence of a driver who is not?

    Thank you

    OK, try the following: go to the folder, devices and printers, add printer, the local printer, create a port, a standard TCP/IP port, put the IP address of the print server, then select the 4V HP Laserjet (just before the Laserjet 5 in the list.  If it is not in the list click on WIndows Update), Next, Next.

  • Install the drive Media Express on Satellite M60

    I just bought myself a M60-170. Because I have to join a domain, I had to format the drive and reinstall with XP pro.
    During the reinstallation, I deleted all partitions and EMP has disappeared. After reading the manual, I saw that there is an option for EMP.

    When I boot with the EMP recovery disk and try to reinstall it, it says that it will destroy all data partitions. But does take?
    I made a partition of 250 MB unallocated at the end of the training, but it also reformatted my OS which is located on the partition of handguns?

    Hello

    If you install the Express Media Player so the whole HARD disk will be deleted!
    I found this installation instruction:

    1. ALL DATA ON THE HARD DRIVE WILL BE DESTROYED IRREVERSABLY

    2. install Express Media Player:
    Boot from the recovery Express Media Player CD
    --> use [delete all Partitions] (can be on the left side of the menu for older versions of reader).
    THIS ERASES THE ENTIRE HARD DRIVE!
    --> 0 x 88 partition ID for the Express Media Player will be created

    (3) boot with the Windows XP Recovery CD, go to expert mode and exit the "TOSHIBA Recovery Tool" (version OEM Ghost) using menuitem "Quit."

    (4) you can use fdisk.exe or gdisk.exe - I'll show the syntax here gdisk
    (its easier to describe and there are a lot of descriptions for FDISK on the net)

    (5) now, we create two partitions (size of 50%: 50% - playersize).
    --> At the DOS prompt, type:
    Gdisk 1 /cre /pri /sz:50%-> creates a primary partition 1
    Gdisk 1 /cre /ext-> creates an extended partition 2
    Gdisk 1/log /cre-> creates a 2nd logical partition
    Gdisk 1/p:1-> partionion set 1 active /act

    (6) now reboot with Windows XP Recovery CD, go to expert mode
    (7) menu use: Local\Partition\From Image, choose image GHO menu

    (8) there should only be ONE partition available source:
    1 primary DiskLoad NTFS 07...-> pick this one!

    (9) Select destination disk (there are also only one)
    1 basic...-> pick this one!

    (10) now you need to choose the destination partition - there should be three to choose!

    (11) select:
    1 primary 0C Fat32 without name...-->! BE SURE TO CHOOSE THIS ONE!

    (12) to confirm that you want to write on this partition

    "(13)" TOSHIBA Recovery Tool "is unpack and install the operating system

    (14) subsequently Windows XP and Media Player Express are installed

    I am running Windows XP on a Dell XPS laptop.  When I joined the SanDisk Cruzer Flash Drive or a mouse with Logitech M215 wireless computer detects it and tries to load a driver but just by saying no driver found.  I use other mice wireless and other readers flash without any problems.  I went on the Web from Logitech website and SanDisk and they both say no driver required.  I contacted Logitech and they said it's a matter of Microsoft's operating system.  Where can I get a driver to run both devices.  Also when I go to the hardware profile the other device has a yellow box? next to him.  I try to uninstall the driver and updated it but without success.  Still looking for a driver.  Where can I find the driver.  Help.

    Hello

    1. have you tried plugging it into different USB ports and check?

    2. did you try to use the same flash player and mouse on another computer and check if it works there?

    3. how exactly did you uninstall the driver and reinstall it?

  • 5530 Evvy replaced printer - need to replace the driver and software?

    Hello

    Recently, I had to feel my 5530 all-in-One printer replaced while it was still under warranty. The replacement came with new driver software and everything, but since it is the same model that I decided not to install it and use the existing driver installed on computers instead. (Replacement not be come with directions for uninstall, said by the way.)

    The new printer is connected to the wireless network (using touch screen) and is recognized by computers on the network, but I can't get anything to print, since the existing driver HP software does not seem to 'find' the printer. Do I still need to uninstall the driver and reinstall? And what about the other programs installed with HP printer?

    The computers are all Windows 7 64 bit.  I'm not very technical, so it makes me a little nervous.

    Thanks for any help you can give.

    Running the diagnostics to http://www.hp.com/go/tools can help solve the problem.

  • WiFi disabled in Windows Boot Camp 10, can not reinstall the driver

    Running an end of 2013 the MBP 15 "retina

    I got 10 Windows Boot Camp installed for more than a year without difficulty. But suddenly, my wifi doesn't work in Windows 10. He could see networks and said it was connected, but it has never been an internet connection.

    Assuming that it was the result of an update, I

    1 uninstalled all Windows regular updates that I can

    2. uninstalled the Broadcom driver

    3 downloaded the last Boot Camp Assistant WSS and installed

    But now I can't reinstall a driver for the Broadcom card! I tried to install WSS, but the network card remains in my device without a driver manager. So I tried to install the individual installation files in the folder of Broadcom. Still did not work. I even tried to extract all files Broadcom installation and manual installation of all the drivers. Windows 10 seems to recognize that the "ac" driver is the right, but always tells me that the driver installation failed without giving details.

    What else can I try?
