  You may have a problem with an extension or plugin that obstructs normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

  Win 7 and your programs are on the SSD, so there is no need to re - install Win7. To disable the current raid0, you know how it was setup. This was done in the BIOS by using the ICHR10 or the Marvell chip or he was in the software under Windows? BTW, I'll explain later, but consider getting 3 Caviars instead of 2.

  AFAIK Areca is the only controller card to offer Raid3. Also remember that the purchase of Areca controller card is like buying a tripod head and Vinten or Sachtler fluid. Quite expensive, but they last a lifetime. Now, the Areca may not last a lifetime, but can definitely last two generations of PC.

  Not at all, if your case is big enough. For example in my case I currently have 2 BRD burners and 17 disks 3.5 ". If I want I can increase this to 2 BRD burners plus 21 3.5 "disks including 15 hot.

  As I said above, I suggest that you get 3 drives WD CB. You can then configure them in a volume raid5 disks 4 more 1 hot spare. The dilemma is that AFAIK neither the ICHR10 nor the Marvell supports hot-spare parts, you may need a controller Adaptec, nuts of arec or 3Ware for relief assistance. If you don't have the budget for a controller from Areca, then in the future, you may find that the most affordable Adaptec card 3Ware or even Hightpoint (or LSI) have no other use if the time has come for a raid3 card.

  With a hot spare in a raid5 when a disk fails, you can take your time to get a new (to reduce security although until replacement). If a disk fails, you will have reduced performance for less than an hour, perhaps only for minutes, until it kicks in relief. You can easily take a week or even two weeks to get a replacement disc if you can live with the guarantee reduced by not having a hot spare available more.

  Adding random a registry key is not going to work. I also recommend strongly against any chance adding registry keys to your system.

  To display a thumbnail of a video (or really any file), the program to open it should install what is called a shell extension. QuickTime MUST be installed one for MP4 videos, if this can make the video of course. You can try a repair of QuickTime installation to see what is happening. It is possible that you won't get only miniature MP4.
