  FAT32 only supports files up to a maximum size of 4 GB, which would be certainly much too small for Blu - Ray quality media.

  exFAT supports files of unlimited size effectively, Mac and Windows can read and write to exFAT to format external drives but neither can boot from such a unit. If a TV or other system supports exFAT drives, you need to check yourself formatted.

  NTFS supports files of unlimited size indeed, Mac can only read NTFS, it cannot format or write to NTFS, unless you get an add-on. Of course Windows supports NTFS. Again, you will need to check if your TV etc supports NTFS. If you want to add full support for NTFS to a Mac, I recommend this - https://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/

  HFS + is the current format of Apple and new supports files of unlimited size effectively. Mac can of course read, write and format disks. Does not support the Windows as a standard HFS +, but still, you can buy an add-on for Windows Add this feature. It is extremely unlikely that a TV would support HFS +.   1. format the hard drive.
   
  2. replace a new operating system. When media starts, you are presented with the option to format the drive before installation.
   
  3. If it is a separate partition, and you're dual-boot, you may need to set your boot options after formatting your partition WS2008. Demarrer start on your older operating system drive, and then select the boot option fix for your existing partition from the operating system.

During the last steps of the installation (I think that durng the procedure of 'start process'), I lost Internet connectivity and was impossible to reconnect (I use a USB dongle. I think that a virus infection is interfering with the connection). That's why I had to restart my computer for the installation could be completed, but it seemed to be successful that I was able to reboot without any problem. I assume that the installation had actually finished and it was just reset stage that was interrupted.

  Because the Windows XP installation CD does not have the necessary disk controller drivers.  You will need a floppy drive to provide the drivers of controller for the installation program, or you will need to burn a CD of Windows XP with the controller drivers slipstreamed into the installation.  A CD of Windows XP with SP2 included may have the necessary drivers.

  Use utility diagnostics by the hard drive manufacturer (usually available from the web page of the manufacturer of the hard drive) to perform a complete diagnosis and zeros (low-level format) on disk.

  A new HDD may not formatted or partitioned as they won't know if you're going to use it on a Mac or Windows.

  When you connect the hard drive to your PC, Windows should have led you to format the drive.

  Background: after a bit of trouble to install windows 8 on my SSD, I had at one time install on my drive 3 TB of seagate for troubleshooting. Of course, this has reduced the reader to 2 TB for the MBR. I finally solved the problem by changing the mode AHCI instead of IDE interface and installed the OS on my SSD. To my dismay, I could not reclaim the unallocated space.

  I tried to format the drive and delete volumes using disk management, windows 8 installation disc command prompt (you have the option to format and remove the disks and volumes). Basically, I'm stuck. I can't extend the volume. Windows 8 install disc gives me the error [0 x 80042468]

  Unplug all external devices.

  Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.

  Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:

  1.	Right-click my computerand then click Properties.
  2.	Click the Advanced tab.
  3.	Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.
  4.	Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.
  5.	Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.

  Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.

  Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.
