Frame Maker 10 with S1000D - table of contents Figure not to format

I use image Maker 10 with S1000D Application Pack, I again document S1000D-> New-> model Crew, inputing the data according to the elements and updating the table of the S1000D materials-> update TOCs all works fine, but when I insert the Figure and updated the table of contents it is not in the format

Error.jpg

When I checked the document example given in FM 10 S1000D, once I insert the item 'Title of Figure' it auto entry number... but not in the model of the crew.

Please help me how to deal with this

This formatting error is due to a rule of text missing in the application of the crew Module. The best way to solve this problem is the following:

  1. Locate the S1000D application files in FrameMaker installation folder.
  2. Open the ESD for the purposes of the crew: crew_401.edd.fm.
  3. Also open ESD for the purposes of Description: description_401.edd.fm.
  4. In the ESD crew locate the definition of element figureTitle which is located in the graphics section. You should see that figureTitle has no formatting rule.
  5. The EDD Description contain the rules of formatting required, so just copy these rules to ESD of the crew.
  6. Save the EDD crew. You may modify the EDD file permissions to allow read/write access.
  7. Open the template of the crew: crew_401.tpl.fm.
  8. Import EDD into the model by using file > import > element definitions...
  9. Save the model of the crew.
  10. Open the module data crew, the list of Figures displays now the correct formatting.

Note: Do not import the EDD directly in a data module open as this will overwrite the values of the attributes as defined by the map BREX.

  • How to make a table of contents reflects the document formatting?

I use a table of contents for a long document. In the document, some special words - the titles of the texts that I write about - italic. But when they appear in the Table of contents, they are not. Part of the table of contents and problematic subheadings are shown in the attached images. I can do all the headings / subheadings italics, but I don't seem to be able to reformat the individual words, I can find no option for the table of contents to reflect the formatting of the titles themselves. I'm heading to the last resort of manually typing all the senses...

V4.3 Pages ' 09, or Pages v5.6.1, will resume the paragraph/character in the body of the document style attributes in the generated TOC. To a certain extent, you can customize the table of contents thereafter.

  • Table of contents - do not enter the table header overflow

    Hey,.

In my table of contents, I listed two styles:

1 table of contents Title Page

2 - the ToC table header

I also have my table set up correctly - headers, so when a Table flows to a second page - table headers appear in this second page as it should. The tables are large - and not the way to avoid overflow. I think that the principle is called "Text Threading" - but it also works with the tables.

In the majority of cases - the implementation works perfectly.

HOWEVER when the table flows to a second page - TocTable header does not appear in the Table of contents regenerated.

For example, the table of contents looks like this:

    Electric Page 6

    Machine X - Y - Z Page 6

    Electric Page 7

    Electric Page 8

When it SHOULD look like this:

    Electric Page 6

    Machine X - Y - Z Page 6

    Electric Page 7

    Machine X - Y - Z Page 7

    Electric Page 8

    Machine X - Y - Z Page 8

Is this possible? I have looked at all - and cannot find all the options.

    Thank you!

Clarify: X-Y-Z Machine is the title of the table, and he appears in a header row (repetition) over a several page table? And you want each occurrence of table header appear in the table of contents and not only the first occurrence?

I don't think it will work this way. Header lines is modified on the first page of a table: other pages just repeat the info, but it is not accessible. It would work if you put the title of table above the table (not inside) and it repeated manually at the top of the pages. It's more work, but it will get the desired result. You mentioned that it doesn't happen that often, so maybe that's a doable "workflow" for you.

That said, most of the TOCs brings you to the first page of a chapter, section, paragraph, and table and do not repeat the entry when the chapter, section, paragraph or a table contains more than one page. If I have sought to your table of contents and wanted to see the section on electricity, I have to stop and wonder what page to go to the first. I think that eventually, I would choose the premiera.

  • Table of contents do not show in the view main provision

OK, it must be something small minor that I do not.

I created a project by importing a PDF file and creating themes based on a given style.

In the project manager pod (?), under project files, I have 6 files. Each of the 6 files seems to be one of my subjects. Good so far.

A table of contents was not created, so I clicked on each of the 6 files and choose New > Table of contents.

Now, always in project management, the Table of contents file has my entries, but when I use the main View Layout button, I get subjects with no table of contents (Nothing in the navigation pane when the content is selected). OK, this isn't quite right, as I get the FIRST topic in the content pane and a full white in the navigation pane.

My computer does show a warning that Microsoft protects me against the virus self-inflicted bad by not allowing not content to run, unless I authorize it expressly, but I when even didn't have no content when I leave the content.

Is there something minor that I do not? (I'm the take that the main View Layout is supposed to show what will be the final result)

    Thank you

    Solon

In the project manager, you should see listed contents. From what you say, rather than create the default TOC, you chose to create a new. That will be confirmed by see two entries in the Table of contents.

So what happened is probably rather than set the wizard to use the new table of contents, you left the value by default if you generated using the default instead of the table of contents you created.

Double-click the main layout and change the table of contents used in the first page of your new, and it should be OK.

If you double-click a table of contents in the project manager, you should see open in a pod.

  • Table of contents do not synchronize

I have a big file from WebHelp containing 775 topics inside. Most of them are descriptions of the fields. In the table of contents, I have a book called Fields - A to Z. When I click on one of the fields that begin with a letter in the alphabet (for example, M), the table of contents do not jump at this place. Instead, it jumps to the top of the book (in A). In my WebHelp settings for generating the file, I have configured to automatically synchronize the table of contents. I don't have this problem with my other (smaller) WebHelp files.

    Has anyone encountered this problem?

    Welcome to the forum.

Yes this appears regularly, and I think he was asked last week. See extract of 49 on my site. There is a solution if your users are limited to IE, but it breaks using in Firefox!

In addition, the only solution is less likely in a book.

Not really the desired solution, but I fear it is like that.

Who better to disable automatic synchronization.

  • Table of contents do not work in FireFox 3

I use the WebHelp on RoboHelp 7 (XP blue skin). The table of contents does not appear on FireFox 3. RoboHelp 7 WebHelp models don't support FF 3? (Look good on 2.0 FF and IE).

[Edit: I find someone else here with a similar problem...] Part of Navigation of WebHelp killed by FireFox 3

    For me,.

    Firefox 3 + Win XP = broken

    Firefox 3.0.1 + Vista = works

Firefox 3 + Mac = don't like, because we do not support :) If someone wants to publish their findings, please do not hesitate.

I'm not under custom scripts, so it may be that. [I'll post more as I learn more.]

It's like I said to someone else in another thread, the cause is the Firebug / HR combination. I don't know who we're talking so all that you can do is bug report it to both organizations. I understand your comment about your customers, but disable Firebug is the only known workaround. Post it in this thread has reported the bug to Adobe and Firebug. You should do the same. Here is the link to Adobe.

I confirmed in the thread you said that Brainskillet was referring to the two patches you have.

  • Page indent the problem with the table of contents entries...

I have a few entries of table of contents running on more than one line. I would like the text to be indented from the establishment right indent/margin so that text does not as far as the Page numbers on the right margin of the text TOC block extend existing. I put a tab on the right so that the page numbers are tabulated on the right edge of the frame, but if I bring you the right margin with several (currently 5 mm) indenting, I can't have a tab stop to the page outside of the right margin.

If I insert soft-return/new line tanks they wil get lost every time I have rebuild the table of contents (there will be a lot of it!)

Any ideas, I'm sure it happens all the time for designers of the book.

The same way you have a withdrawal of first line, on the left there is a final withdrawal of the straight line. You can set the right two inches (for example) withdrawal and removal of stretch to neutralize two thumbs, all on a single line will go completely to the right of the frame, and any point edge requiring line breaks will break two inches to the left of the right edge of the frame, while the last line will go to the right edge.

  • Tags for accessibility - what to do with the Table of contents & more

I'm looking for assistance and advice concerning the marking of a PDF document for accessibility using Acrobat 9 Pro.

So far, the most I've ever done with Acrobat's create the occasional straight-text document and a few simple forms.  But my boss asked me to score a manual of programming for accessibility and I'm a little lost.  There are a lot of both the images and the code examples in this text that I have no idea how work with because auto-tagging is seems to be haywire.

I downloaded the Acrobat 9 Pro accessibility repair Workflow document and have done the following:

    1. Determined that my document is not a scanned document.
    2. Determined that there are no forms or the buttons in this document.
    3. Set the language to English.
    4. Set security for document "no security".
    5. Determined that the document contains bookmarks.
    6. Determined that the document is not a document labeled.
    7. Run the accessibility full check.

This is where I ran into problems - both because of the nature of the document and my own ignorance of the process 'make accessible '.

My table of contents is divided into several areas indicated in the form of tables, but the individual elements of the array are improperly identified - I have no idea how to do to make them appear correctly.  Advice would be appreciated.  Suitable for the Table of contents even being a table?  I know it's called a table, but it has several levels and I'm not sure what to do with it.

There are also several tables in the document.  They appear especially OK, but Acrobat seems to think tables are made up of individual and figures produced "No alternative text for Figure" errors on some of them.

I mean, how the hell can I make text flow on code?  The code is all text, not images.

If someone knows something about this whole thing accessibility I would greatly appreciate your comments.

    Thank you!

    Jenn

Assuming that the original manual is the WORD, it is probably best to simply go back to WORD and PDF Maker allows you to create the PDF file. Which will add bookmarks and other tags which will provide accessibility. Probably all that is needed. It is much easier to create your own tags. Of course, I guess you use style sheets in the original and this marking would be. If you have not used the style sheets in the original, you probably have a lot of work in front of you.

  • Table of contents are not present in CHM output generated with Robohelp 2015

Hello. When I generate CHM output HR 2015, the table of contents are missing, but the search and glossary tabs are present. I won't open the file from a server, but from my desk. I copied from the server on my desktop and renamed it. The file has been created, I believe, RH 9, but I generated successfully exit CHM with this file in HR 10. Any ideas? Thank you!

    Dawn

If I were in your shoes, the next thing I would try is to open the pod output configuration. Define a new CHM window there. So be sure to choose this new window in your presentation of single Source recipe.

  • Is it possible to implement the sequences to browse to project with several tables of contents and conditionalized modules

I use RoboHelp 9 with WebHelp output.

I have five outings, which one contains help for common functions, while the other four contain help for modules under license. When a user opens a module under license assistance, the user sees the soul help and authorized assistance. In addition, the files are conditionalized so that the unauthorized search a help licensed module brings nothing.

I have been solving problems with the previous topic and the next topic which, thanks William, I learned are associated with browse sequences. After having tried various configurations, I have a few questions:

    • HR support a sequence to travel alone in a project, even when the project has several outputs & fakes?
    • If HR supports a sequence to browse only, does that mean that there is no way to create a unique navigation for each separate output sequence?
    • If HR supports several sequences of travel, which is the workflow?

I also maintain a table of 'master' contents which contains all the modules, frequent and without a license. What I've done for now is to autocreate a browse sequence based on the table of contents "master." When I generate the output of a module under license, which is conditionalized, I only see the table of contents for this module and, therefore, can only travel between books and subbooks for this add-on. I also checked that the subjects that do not appear in the module conditionalized as for another module licensed, do not appear in the list of search results either.

You also questions about the functional differences between WebHelp and WebHelp Pro, so let me explain.

I know only two major differences other than (the additional benefits of analytical feedback reports) and the management of 'Zones' with authentication in RoboHelp Server.

    1. The behavior of browse sequences as explained above
    2. The fact that the categories of content are not supported in WebHelp Pro for this latest version 9.

In regards to sequences to browse you try to anticipate the various modules (licensed, etc.): multiple browse sequences are included in an single . File BRS. Sequences are defined in the XML code in the single file.

As a solution (for WebHelp and WebHelp Pro), you could create a Help.brs of the NPM. that you have already created a module; then backup and archive. Then create a change for the different module before generating again. The Help.brs of the NPM. will need to have the same name as your project, so you will have to manage the .brs desired file in the project folder when you build this version. All your other choices (table of contents, Index, conditional tags, etc) remains the same for the respective modules.

Finally, I notice that you generate apparently WebHelp Pro right now even if you are not published on the server of HR? This is really not the best practice. You must generate WebHelp plain for a web server that has no HR server on it (even if you can be getting away with it). Regarding your concern about "breaking" something; each output is placed in another! SSL! folder automatically when you build, so you should be able to generate WebHelp without interfering with the release of WebHelp Pro. Then, you can republish on the HR using WebHelp Pro Server, whenever the server is ready.

  • Problem with the table of contents pages and books

I use 8 HR and generate Webhelp.

I created a project and had to change a few pages of table of contents and create TOC books instead. I deleted the pages and added books, with the same name. HR, it looks fine, but when I generate the table of contents for the page instead of the book. I tried to clear my cache in Internet Explorer, and the deletion of the page again. Still no help. I rebooted and even rebooted and still have the same thing. Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

    Thank you.

Indeed if a book has nothing in it, it will not appear in the table of contents. When you think about it, it is very logical. Why would you want a book to appear if nothing was inside?

  • Is it possible to make multiple indexes and tables of contents?

I have InDesign CS2.  I was wondering, is it possible to make several index? For example, an index of names, a separate index for places. Similarly, is it possible to make several Tables of contents? What I really want, it's a Table of contents, list of illustrations, a list of maps and a list of the cards.  What is the best way to go about this?  I know I can make a table of contents, copy the text and use it, then modify the toc settings to make a new. So my main concern is the index, but I'm curious to know if there is a better way for tables of contents.

    Thank you

An InDesign document can have as many tables of contents you want, but you get only to create an index. One solution is to combine everything in a single index, and then copy and paste it into separate stories at the end. I'm a little fuzzy on the details of how get you this to sort (I never had the need, so far, to do), but it has been described here more than once. I think that a forum for several index search you would probably get the answer.

  • problems with the table of contents and index

I do the localization for the Japan, so I'm all nice and good in Japanese (themes, table of contents and index), however, after compilation, only the TOC and India are in a font that does not support Japanese characters.
Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem?
    Thank you

Thank you Pete, it's part of the solution.
In fact, what I discovered on a German forum for RoboHelp, is to set the machine to the locale for the country, and the location is made. I installed the language support pack before my problem and so I was able I was translating into topics. The problem appeared when I tried my first compilation. The subjects were still in Japanese, that I translated, but the table of contents and the index and were the only ones who wrote in a totally unknown style (not Japanese English and not another language, I know).
Now that I've changed the location of my system, it works.
So, I think that this should be a first improvement for RoboHelp, right? They boast that they support 35 languages, however the support isn't quite... finish, huh?
Furthermore, the error message continues to come even after all these changes, but I don't like too much about this, I get what I need.
Thanks again Pete for the solution and the quick response.

  • Table of contents does not on the page

    Hello

I'm working on single-level TOC. I created a table of contents style.

However, after inserting the table of contents (by clicking 'Ok'), I get the following message:

    1.PNG

I'm not sure what this means. And if I click on 'Yes', I get the following message:

    2.PNG

Yet once again, im not sure why I see this message, because there is no existing table of contents. When you click on 'OK' I do not see a busy cursor and there is no visible TOC on the page.

    ID appreciate your help.

    Thank you

    Ashim

Overset text indicates that you have a text in one or several images which does not appear anywhere in a document. Double-click the red light at the bottom of the document window to open the preflight Panel. Click on the triangles to expose problems. This file has two instances of overset text. Click on the page number on the far right access to one of the examples of problem:

Overset text icon is one more red in the lower right of the frame.

There was no place to make this framework any longer, so I've added columns and now all the text fits. A port to clear signals the end of the document. The preflight panel shows now only remaining error, I would set the same way.

The table of contents can generate very well with overset text, both positions are visible. But you're not finished with the layout until you have solved all the problems of overset text, InDesign tries to help by alerting you of the situation.
