Free Firefox will not download, it redirects to affiliated companies.

Changes with the computer Toshiba laptop, Vista Home Basic. Free version of AVG is functional. I tried Google Chrome load, but would not download either. I was happy with Foxfire so peeps said I had to go to the Chrome or Netscape. It was when I had problems with the hardwood Euchre. I'd lose chat and ability to read the game screen would freeze. I have redownloaded the game and same thing.

You should be able to install and use Browse more than one on a computer, and if it's a computer of Windows Internet Explorer should not normally be uninstalled, even if not used for web browsing.

If you want to install Firefox use an official website for download such as:

Once installed which should then be updated correctly in the future (Firefox upgrades generally every six weeks). If something went wrong settings post back for further advice. At this point please do NOT use any option that removes the personal settings like which will destroy the Favorites and passwords on all versions of Firefox.

  • Flash plug in for Firefox will not download

    HI Maria

    Thanks for your reply.

I had before I ask for help in this forum is an uninstall of Flash, then a "reset" of Firefox, nothing helps.  However, I did try your suggestion of "Uninstall" Firefox and Adobe Flash and then reinstall both.  Still no results.  Also based on your suggestion that maybe it was a problem of Mozilla Firefox, I used their site to support to solve the problems with flash which including uncheck the hardware acceleration in options/advanced/general.  Still no results.

However, prompted by your thinking it was a Firefox problem (which it turns out it wasn't) led me to consider other programs that may interfere. I then turned off my security made a uninstall and reinstall Flash, reboot the computer and then turned my back safety and am pleased to announce the SUCCESS.

It would therefore seem that, for some reason, my safety had interfered with Adobe Flash.

I hope that the issue remains resolved.

Thanks anyway for your reply because it made me think of other causes.

  • Windows Firefox will not close.

    Hello
I am running windows 8.1 and Firefox 38.0.1. whenever I click on the Red 'x' to close Firefox, Firefox will not close. If I want to close all tabs, Firefox does not close the last tab. If I try to merge windows (by dragging the tab of a window in a different window) Firefox will create a blank tab on the window where I dragged the dragged tab. So far, the only way to close the Fire Fox is click on the close button or to stop by the Task Manager. When I re - open Firefox Windows and previous tabs are also there, and I'm still not able to close them. I restarted my PC and reinstalled Firefox (uninstalled and re-download). However, after downloading Firefox... the same windows will be opened, with the same tabs! It's horrible!

    Hello cach_dies,

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

  • The computer date went before a day, switched back and now Firefox will not record history.

Hey guys! My brothers and sisters have decided to play a trick on me and changed my computer to the front of a week time (panic ensued). Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.
