Free icloud library space

I have only 9 photos on my iPhone and iPad, I emptied the "Recently deleted" files on devices, but on the settings, I see this: "your pictures and videos, use 940 MB." How can I empty space? Thank you.

It'll deal by itself after a week or two, or you may need to talk to Apple support, they may be able to cancel a reservation that is created by the library for something that was downloaded and then you may have removed.

My Mac Book Pro storage is almost full, and I would like to transfer my photos to iCloud and remove them from my Mac. How can I do this? And how to display in iCloud?

With iCloud library enabled, you cannot delete a photo on a device (or iCloud.com) without deleting each device which uses iCloud photo library (iCloud.com). In order to save space on your mobile devices (and indeed your Mac if you want to) turn on the optimization of the pictures on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimize storage on your mobile device and Photo preferences > optimize storage on your Mac)

Dynamic optimization, it reduces the resolution of your photos, if necessary, so that you don't notice it occurring initially. However, when necessary, it is very effective, and users have reported libraries being optimized for much less than 10% of their original size in some cases. My own library is about 9% of its original on my phone size.

No, you can not use iCloud with iPhoto and Photos at the same time on the same computer.  Photo library only at a time can synchronize with iCloud (My Photo Stream, shared Albums, iCloud, library).  If you enable iCloud for a Photo library, it will be disabled for the previous library.

Sine you use Yosemite - in the first versions of Yosemite was a problem, and it was possible to activate my photo stream in iPhoto and iCloud library in Photos at the same time. But my photo stream does not count against your iCloud free storage, that is used for library iCloud, there is no overlap in iCloud photo library.

  • Enabling iCloud library fills a storage capacity on macbook air

So I try to upload my pictures on iCloud to free up storage on my Macbook air.  Besides the fact that this process seems to take forever, I noticed when it goes I'm actually losing space on my hard drive.  This caused the upload stop and gives me the error message indicating that I have no more space on my hard drive and the process cannot continue.  I made sure the storage parameter optimize is on so that I do not download originals to iCloud.  Also, when I turn off iCloud, I don't have storage space.  So I have the feeling that anything that is uploaded is downloaded several times.

So my question is what is being downloaded, and how to delete to free up more space on my hard drive?

The use of the photo library of iCloud frees space on your Mac, it uses the same space, as it would if you do not use. So if you don't have enough space on your Mac to fit photos, you'll have enough space to use the photo library.

    Try another service for storage.

  • If I upload my photos to the iCloud library remain my original photos on my MacBook Pro?

If I upload my photos to the iCloud library remain my original photos on my MacBook Pro?

Yes, they do. See:iCloud photo library - Apple Support

Note that if you open the Photos on your Mac and go to preferences and click on iCloud at the top of the preferences window, there are 2 options: 'Download the originals of this Mac' and 'Optimize Mac storage.' If you choose the option optimize and your Mac is low on storage space, then the originals can be replaced with smaller optimized versions.

  • iCloud library always up-to-date!

    Hi guys,.

I have an iPhone 6 and I started using icloud library recently. I turned on icloud photo library on my iphone and the photos were perfectly sync with icloud. Later, I've disabled icloud photo library on my iphone and uploaded a few photos to icloud by using the web interface via google chrome (using a windows pc). Then I turned on icloud photo library on my iphone and the photos I have uploaded via google chrome have been be synced to my phone and I got a message on my iphone saying that my phone doesn't have enough available space to complete the synchronization, so I cancelled the sync to my iphone. Later, when I logged in my photo library icloud thanks to google chrome and bottom of the screen he just keeps telling 'updated'. Now when I remove some photos of icloud photo library thanks to google chrome, the photos reappear when I login to icloud again. Also, I can't create new albums or download new photos on icloud photo library. Expecting a solution from anyone and it will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When he says "updated", are you connected to a Terminal Wifi good and reliable?

  • Unable to choose "iCloud library" after the restoration of Mac

Hello everyone, this is my first time, ask a question here.

I have a MacBook Pro with a library of 57 214 (317 GB) photos stored on an external hard drive. I recently downloaded all these photos to iCloud library (it took 5 days!) but just yesterday, I had to do a clean OS install. Since then, I tried to implement the pictures once again.

My library on the hard drive is set as the system library, but when I select 'iCloud photo library' with the option ' download originals of this Mac ", it selects, then begins to download, it cancels the. If I try to select it again, the same thing happens.

    Two minutes later...

Can someone tell what I can do? Should I remove the pictures from the cloud and try again?

The problem may be that the free storage is not enough to download all original icloud in addition to the pictures already in your library.

It might be easier to download the library of iCloud to an empty library instead of download the. library again.

Do you have plans in your photo library, you need to save or invested a lot of work by naming the faces?

Otherwise, move your existing photo library to an external drive as a backup copy, then remove the library of your internal drive.

    • Launch of Photos with the options key held down to bring up the library Chooser Panel.
    • Select this option to create a new library.
    • Make this new library your system photo library and activate iCloud.  Your photos and albums will begin to download. It will be faster than the download. Once again and the merger of the two libraries.

But the download will not restore the named faces and not projects. IF you keep the original library to access your projects and have a reference for the faces that he will have to restore.

How can I limit the space used by photos in ios9 without deleting icloud?

In most cases, optimize your photos should be enough to raise the space related issues on your device. However, if you have an exceptionally large library you may need to disable iCloud photo library on your mobile device and use instead the photo stream. You can then use a computer to manage the photo stream photos and have them automatically imported into you iCloud photo library.

  • If I remove iCloud library in my iPhone (but not on my Mac) I lost photos?

I have iCloud library enabled on my iPhone and Mac.

Everything works perfectly, great synchronization, all photos back available for me to see 10 years.

Now I have run out of space on my iPhone, and my photos (despite the optimization of storage on iCloud photo library) are the main reason for this.

If I disable iCloud photo library on my iPhone, but keep it on my Mac, what will happen?

Do I lose all the photos?

Once I did, if I delete the pictures of my phone are they so just deleted from my phone, but not my iCloud?

    Appreciate the help, thanks

If you disable iCloud photo library on your iPhone, you will see more pictures on this device. iCloud photo library on your Mac will still have pictures. You should not lose all the photos from your Mac, but make a copy of your library beforehand should put your mind at rest until you can verify that he has lost. Delete the pictures taken on your iPhone will not affect your Mac or iCloud, but neither future pictures taken on your iPhone will go into iCloud photo library.

  • How to reduce the amount of storage to free up more space

How to reduce the amount of storage to free up more space

There are several things you could do.

Save your iPad to iTunes on a computer or create an iCloud account, find out how much storage space you need for data and if you need to buy storage space monthly, to do. Then save your iPad to iCloud.

HOWEVER the data backup on your iPad using WiFi or Bluetooth wireless, local devices such as portable hard drives or small flash memory drives designed for use with mobile devices, like the iPad.

Remove the applications that you use is no longer. If you start to use them in the future, you can re-download them the iOS App Store.

Thin out / remove the amount of music and movies you have on your iPad.

If you make a backup of your iPad, you can thin out / delete all images stored in the iOS App Photos.

Thin out / remove all books electronic, iBooks, eMagazines, and PDF documents, you have stored on your iPad. Magazines and e-books can be redownloaded at a later date.

  • Remove iCloud library remove my photos from my camera

I want to back up my data but the I cloud photo library takes too much space so I want to know if turn off iCloud library would remove the pictures and videos from my camera, and I don't have a pc if you are using a computer would not be a valid solution

I was wondering this too! I received an email from Apple as soon as I turned off my iCloud photo library, and he says: "You must download full resolution photos and videos at least one device before they are deleted icloud library within 30 days."

"Photos full resolution" are pictures that have more pixels, compared to photos low low-pixel resolution. If you're wondering what pixels are and why they are important, they essentially affect the size and sharpness of a photo. Large, clear photo is a full/high resolution photo. A small blurry photo is a picture of low resolution.

I'm sure this means that if you want the best and the most beautiful photos, you can let your iCloud photo library on. If you don't mind more blurry, less polite pictures, turn the power off. Keep reading, though, before you go turn off your iCloud library.

Good, now that I've explained what activating / deactivating the iCloud photo library will do to your photos, I will give you the answer to your question:

I don't think that the pictures on your iPad will be deleted if you turn off your iCloud photo library. If your photos mean a lot to you and you don't want to take the risk to remove, do not turn off your iCloud photo library. Turn it off and not turn on again in 30 pourrait delete your photos. I don't think he's going to remove them, but it could very likely.

Summary of my response/TLDR: I do not think that your photos will be deleted if you turn off your iCloud photo library, but they might, so if your photos are very important to you (and you do not want to risk having to delete them), then keep it.

    Sincerely,

  • iCloud library download not working not

    Hi all

I have a problem with the iCloud library months ago that my library (14000 pictures) is not properly download from my mac (10.11.3).

At present, there are still 7000 points to download, but over the past two months to download anything.

I have enough space in the cloud and on iOS, there is no problem to download (it's working great)!

    Thank you!!!

Check if your library contains items that can not download. photos and videos in an incompatible format could block the upload forever.

You can test it with a smart album:

    File > new Smart Album

and add a constraint: any element

    • Photo is referenced
    • Picture can not download on iCloud photo library.

  • Cannot activate icloud library

When I try to activate the icloud on my itunes music library by following the steps: itunes - general preferences, it is not a "icloud library" option to check or turn on. Why can't I see this option?

See this - How do I enable or disable music to iCloud library.
