Free transform: drag the reference point?

So when you use the transform tool it has a button to change the reference point at 9 different locations. But I need set the reference point at a specific location in the image. Can't I put manually, by dragging or something?

While you can do in the full version of photoshop elements

does not seem to allow for this.

  • Set the reference point for several objects in the middle of the document

    Hello community,

    I want to mirror a layout.

    I: Yes

    1. Select all objekts

    2. set the benchmark in the Middle

    3. objects in mirror

    BUT

    The reference point is in the middle of all the OBJECTS. This led to several objects across the border into my document because the layout is not spread out on a regular basis.

    I want through the DOCUMENT will be the point of reference. How can I do?

    Thank you

    Have you fiugured this out yourself?

    I just played a little and found a method, but it is not really intuitive. Select the object, then go to the rotation tool. The center of rotation must be defined as one of the handles of transformation, but you can drag it anywhere you like, then move until you want as the center of your mirror. Hold down the Opt/Alt key and click on the button to create a mirrored copy. The objects original reflects their position around the reference repositioned without the modifier key.

  • Citing the free transform on the smart object place encompassing top left

    I've got something weird going on in PS CC 2015. It runs on a computer Windows 10. I placed a psd file of a company in the active document logo. I shot it, scaled and added some layer styles. Then at some point I had to resize it again, so I called the free transform command, but now the framework encompassing loads in the upper left corner of the document. Any changes to one of the settings in the Panel Options F. T. causes the logo to disappear completely, even if I can go back to the default values. This occurs only after I added a mask to the layer. Without the mask, everything works fine - add the mask, and I get this oddity.

    No idea why?

  • Move the object by the "reference Point".

    I need to move the images on my document using different reference points. But it seems that by default, it moves using the 'AnchorPoint.TOP_LEFT_ANCHOR '. I can't change it.

    Here is my code:

    myDoc var = app.activeDocument;

    var changeRefPoint = app.activeWindow.transformReferencePoint = AnchorPoint.TOP_RIGHT_ANCHOR;

    if(MyDoc.Selection.Length == 1)

    {

    If (app.selection [0].constructor.name == "Rectangle")

    {

    var rectangle_graph = app.selection [0].move([159,61.3]);

    }

    }

    Hi Ken0207,

    I'm afraid that the setting of PageItem.move (in, in) is always top-left-anchor parent, regardless of the current transformReferencePoint.

    I can't test it in depth, but the following function should do the job:

    function moveToConsideringAnchor(obj, xyDest, anchorPt)
    // -------------------------------------
    // : any singular PageItem specifier
    // : [x,y] location expressed in the current ruler space
    // : the considered AnchorPoint (default is top-left)
    {
        if( !(obj && obj.transform) ) return;

        var CS_PASTEBOARD = CoordinateSpaces.pasteboardCoordinates;

        anchorPt || (anchorPt=AnchorPoint.topLeftAnchor);

        var xy0 = obj.resolve(anchorPt,CS_PASTEBOARD)[0],
            xy1 = obj.resolve([xyDest, anchorPt],CS_PASTEBOARD,true)[0],
            dx = xy1[0]-xy0[0],
            dy = xy1[1]-xy0[1];

        obj.transform(CS_PASTEBOARD,[0,0],[1,0,0,1,dx,dy]);
    }

    // ---
    // SAMPLE CODE
    // ---

    // Your settings:
    var CONSIDERED_ANCHOR = AnchorPoint.BOTTOM_RIGHT_ANCHOR,
        XY_DESTINATION = [159,61.3]; // in ruler space

    var sel = (1==app.selection.length) && app.selection[0];

    if( sel instanceof Rectangle )
        {
        moveToConsideringAnchor(sel, XY_DESTINATION, CONSIDERED_ANCHOR);
        }

  • Scale multiple objects, with the Center as a reference point, without moving the Group

    Hello-

    I want to scale multiple objects, their Center, without moving the group. I found how to change the objects of the Centre (setting of the reference point in the transformation to the Center and using the free transform tool Panel), but I would choose a bunch of objects and move towards the top of the Center, without the group get larger.

    I want to use it for the highlights on the plans. Say I have 25 small circles with numbers in them on the plan and I want to blow up to 200%, but I want to stay in the same place, is it possible to do both? Or do I have to re - intensify each object individually? The problem that I am running is even if I'm upgrading the scale objects from the Center, the moving objects and losing their place on the map. So, I made each of them individually.

    Thanks for any help!

    Not quite what you want, but if you make one, you can select the rest and the object > transform again > transform again individually.

  • questions of basic reference point

    I have a rectangle and the reference point is in the upper left corner, and I scale down the left upper anchor. I cancel it and change the reference point to the Center and do the same thing. I don't seem to notice a difference with how it gets set to scale down. Am I misunderstand how the reference point?

    Thank you

    Seems to me that if you're looking for Alt or Alt/Shift when dragging to resize an object from its Center.

  • Duplicate the reference: how to unify?

    I have references in doubles, that that is the same image on the disc has more than one reference entry in Aperture.

    If I delete the reference to Aperture 2 1 and then proceed to empty the Recycle Bin to open the disk file ends up in the trash of OSX. Once you empty the trash OSX the file of the disk is lost.

    At this stage the 1 reference I did not remove is an orphan IE: the reference points to nowhere (file not existing)

    How is - that someone is supposed to do to remove 1 of the 2 reference without deleting the file from the disk?

    Thank you

    I select one of the versions in Aperture and using ' file > consolidate. " Select this option to copy the reference file when you are prompted. Then, remove the second version, a reference to this file. Now you can move the the first image is again referenced.

  • The numbers circled in the reference text

    Hey gang,

    I'm doing a character Style that is on the reference marker in the text. I downloaded a font called CombiNumerals to apply to the brand of reference in the text. It applies a semicircle to the text, but I want the reference Document Options to apply a full circle to the reference point which is superscript in the text body. It seems that fonts more figure apply a half circle that corresponds to figures from 1 to 9. Does anyone know of a policy that would cover a WHOLE circle the numbers 1 to 9?

    Best for you,

    Mike in Maryland

    If that's what you want to achieve - or a variation of it - let me know if you want the document to quickie sample.

  • Change the transformation between two keyframes without affecting adjacent transformations on the same timeline

    I'm creating a tree of decision/chart. I'm animate the position of a chart on the scene when the user selects Yes or no in response to a series of questions.

    I divided each movement of the diagram on the chronology of the scene in the form of labels. I staggered these transformations as keyframes on the same layer/path. The issue I'm having is when I manipulate the position of my diagram by moving on the stage, it affects the adjacent transformations. I have my separate transformations with a 1/10 of a second away because I thought that this would split the timeline, but it does not appear!

    decision-tree.jpg

    While I can change the transformations manually by typing in coordinates xy it would be ten times faster to move the diagram on the stage instead and not to overwrite adjacent transformations.

    How to limit the transformation for the two points for the key frame with what I fear?

    Hello

    If you disable the automatic transition mode in the timeline panel, you can then create individual keyframes first for your late departure from the values, and then add transitions for each pair selected later. That should help you achieve what you're trying to do.

    Once you have done this, if you need to make an adjustment later without affecting the adjacent keyframe you can do this by placing the playhead on the keyframe, selecting the key image, then adjusting the property.

  • Why is there not a reference point locator in the scale tool dialog box in Illustrator?

    I guess that's also a suggestion that it is, but why isn't there a reference point locator in the scale tool dialog box in Illustrator? Maybe the function exists and I'm not aware, but it would just using the tool of the easier level. I realize, I can type in mathematics to scale upwards or downwards in the palette transform or workspace, but the scale tool dialog box offers the additional advantage to allow you to preview the results, while the other options are not. Am I missing something? Any help is appreciated.

  • A seemingly simple question about the free transform tool.

    I have always used the free transform tool where the thing that turns in the background, and the transformation automatically makes a new layer. How can I do if the transformation will not cause a new layer, and it won't be the thing in the background which has been transformed to the original?

    I noticed that with other people, it is not the thing that has been transformed in the background, so they have to deal with him.

    Edit - Transform does not a new layer automatically AFAIK.

    Any chance you've been making is something like this?

    1. duplicate the layer with the tool move, possibly by holding down the Alt (or Option) key while dragging with the mouse.

    2 to see the transformation of the controls is enabled for the tool move, which means that the show handles when the move tool is selected and immediately, it would be possible to transform what has been moved / duplicated.

  • Cannot deform stuck HAVE dynamic object using the free transform vector in PS CS6

    Hello

    I stuck a vector object in PS CS6 (13.0.1 x 32) today directly from Illustrator CS6 (16.0.1 x 32) and select 'Paste as smart object' (Windows XP Pro SP3).

    I then tried to distort the object glued using the free transform tool by dragging one of the handles to angle with hold CTRL (Windows).

    General warps\distorts the object, but instead, it launched an operation to bias .

    If I paste as Pixels or shape layer and then apply free Transform, < Ctrl + corner handle slide > performs a warp\distort operation.

    Also, if I have rasterized glued it opposed and then convert them to a smart object, I can warp\distort.

    Is it not possible to paste a vector Illustrator in as a smart object, then warp\distort directly using this technique?

    Thanks for your help.

    Richard

    Your right because on a stuck vehicle a smart cannot deform, false or perform perspective transformations.

    One solution would be to right click on the vector smart object layer in the layers panel and

    Choose Convert to smart object.

    It depends on what is your object, you would probably better quality of a pasted shape or path, but then you will not be able to open the object

    back in illustrator from photoshop.
