frequency of update of GIS

Hi Experts,

What is the process by which customer IDS know when new signatures (and service packs) are available? It is the responsibility of the customer to check periodically or Cisco automatically notifies customers IDS?

In addition, about how many times the new signatures become available and what is the trend? More often? Less often?

Thanks for any comments.

You can register for Notification of updated Active IDS from here:

  • Custom time frequency of update of Security Intelligence

Is it possible create the frequency of update 1 m, 5 m for a list of pet food?

For the moment, it is not possible (or rather not supported). You can manually edit the configuration file of the file system for smaller intervals, but the wait time to download power is 300 seconds, so I would not advice to go lower, because that could cause problems.

If you want to go down the road does not support goto /etc/sf/iprep_sources.conf and change the update_freq (1 = 5 minutes, 2 = 10 minutes, etc.). Configuration is repeated by the daemon automatically, but keep in mind that the changes in the user interface of CMF will overwrite the file again.

You can check the logs for security intelligence downloads via chat logs | grep-i iprep

I think the settings of interval will be improved in a next version, but we'll see. :)

  • SMARTnet include the update of GIS?

    Hi all!

I buy CISCO 3845 with Intrusion Detection System Module and SMARTnet Network.

Can I take the signature updates or I have to get an additional contract for updates?

    Hello

You will need to buy a contract of "services for IPS" to allow you to get updates of the signature.

The following link has the details:

    http://www.Cisco.com/application/PDF/en/us/guest/products/ps6076/c1592/cdccont_0900aecd8022e962.PDF

Once you have purchased the contract that you should save the serial number of the module and then you will be able to get updates.

You can always get a trial license 30 days pending...

  • Update of GIS with MC and NAT

I have (yet) to try uprade my IDSM2 with MC 2.2 VMS, but review of audit logs displays a message like the following:

An error has occurred during execution of the script of update on the sensor named ID-mo-say-1. Detail = CLI error: "taken from port 443 tls trusted host 10.237.86.132 ip address connect failed [4 110].

Looks like a script tries to run from the sensor to the MC Server. The problem here generate from the PIX firewall between the sensor and the server that address the real NATs MC 10.237.86.132 for the sensor in 10.237.85.113. Changing the real address using NAT, can we solve the problem? If so, how can I do that?

    Kind regards

    Paolo

It's the solution that we use, and it seems to work. Change the IP address of the virtual machines to the NAT address box ' ed the sensor sees in the following files. Try it, but make sure that you keep a backup

NOTE the IDS - MC 1.2.3 isn't compatible NAT to its own interfaces when upgrading (it does not support entered a NAT address for sensors). If you need NAT the MC, PLEASE proceed as follows:

    Stop the CiscoWorks Daemon Manager.

    Edit the following file: \CSCOpx\MDC\etc\ids\xml\SystemConfig.xml

Find the line that looks like: x.x.x.x.

Replace x.x.x.x by the correct IP address.

If you have a MC ID installed, copy the file just to edit \CSCOpx\MDC\Tomcat\vms\ids-config\web-inf\classes\com\cisco\nm\mdc\ids\common\SystemConfig.xml.

If you have the Security Monitor installed, copy the file just to edit \CSCOpx\MDC\Tomcat\vms\ids-monitor\web-inf\classes\com\cisco\nm\mdc\ids\common\SystemConfig.xml.

    Restart the CiscoWorks daemon manager.

  • Live Mail - RSS Feed Update frequency - why this can not be changed?

    According to the help http://help.live.com/help.aspx?mkt=en-us&project=WL_Mailv3&querytype=&query=

I should see manage the flow and be able to right click a feed and select change the workflow to change the frequency of update... None of these options exist.

I downloaded Live and installed Mail later than yesterday. The demo version of Windows Live Essentials in programs and features (Add Remove Programs) shows 14.0.8089.0726.

    I am running Win7.

I would really like to be able to set some of my RSS feeds to be updated more frequently than every 24 hours.

Click with the right button on a stream name in Windows Live Mail, and then choose Manage feeds.

You can set a frequency of as low as 15 minutes update, if you wish.

  • How to structure the DMA buffer for SMU 6341 DAQ card for analog output with different frequencies on each channel

I use the outgoing/incoming analog DDK with the DAQ 6341 SMU map.

The examples, for example aoex5, show a single timer (method outTimerHelper::loadUI), but the example shows the DMA loaded with same size of vector data.

There is a comment in the outTimerHelper:call rogramUpdateCount, which implies that memory sizes different pad per channel can be used.

(the comment is: switching between the sizes of the various buffers is not used)

Nobody knows what should be the format the DMA buffer for data from multiple channels with different frequencies?

For example, we want a0 with a sinusoid at 1 kHz and a1 with a sine wave of 1.5 Khz.  What looks like the DMA buffer?

With the same frequency for each channel, the data are interleaved, for example (ao0 #0, ao1 #0; ao0 ao1 #1, #1,...), but when the frequencies for each channel is different, what the stamp looks like?

    Hello Kenstern,

Data are always intertwined since each card has only a single timing for each subsystem engine.

To AO, you must specify the number of samples that will be released to the AO. You also specify the number of channels. Because he didn't is that a single engine timing for AO, each AO will be channel will be updated at the same time to update clock tick. Data will be interlaced exactly as shown in the example because each channel AO needs output at each tick of the clock to update. The data itself can change depending on the frequency you want to copy.

    kenstern wrote:

In your example, you must come with an update rate that works for the two waveforms (sine waves of 1 and 1.5 KHz). To get a good representation of a sine wave, you need to update more than 10 x faster than your fastest frequency... I would recommend x 100 if possible.

    Update frequency: 150 KHz

    Channels: 2

Then create you stamps that include complete cycles of each wave you want to produce based on the frequency of update. These buffers must also be of the same size.

Buffer 1: Contains data for the sine wave of 1 KHz, 300 points 2 cycles of sine wave

Buffer 2: Contains data for the sine wave of 1.5 KHz, 300 points, 3 cycles of sine wave

You can Interleave them as before. When the data are performed through the ADC, they are out different sine waves, even if the AO channels are updated at the same speed.

  • Modification of the program of "Getting Started" sample to acquire data of multiple frequencies

    Dear members,

I am very new to the LabVIEW and worked (mainly through aid of Google) to change one of the samples included with LabVIEW 2010 programs to suit my purpose.

Essentially, the "Getting Started" program that comes with the LabVIEW 2008 works in the following way

    1. The user runs the program
    2. The user sets the frequency to whatever is needed
    3. User presses the "Trigger" button on the front that gives the values of the two boxes on the front panel
    4. Program stops automatically

I modified in the following way

    1. I enter the "recurrence interval" and the "maximum rate" in a table to calculate the number of iterations
    2. I then pass the frequency required in the 'constant' through dissociation TI (where I was setting at the start manually the frequency)
    3. From there, the program runs exactly as before
    4. I wrapped the existing set of block diagram in a loop 'For' to repeat several times, with a different frequency every time
    5. Then, I finally write measures in a worksheet in addition to posting on the "façade".

The problem that I face is that the frequency is not updated in the program. For example, if the last frequency used on the parser a 20 Hz, the program will be to take measures against the same 20 Hz rather than against the correct frequencies several times.

So, in the spreadsheet I created, I get 1 kHz, 2 kHz... 10 kHz, but the values of impedance values recorded against them were indeed all taken against 20 Hz (or how often I last used by using the non-modified program).

I suspect that the frequency is updated whenever the user presses the button "Trigger", but since I took this, for purposes of automation and replaced by a constant static in the 'real', it could cause problems. I don't know if this is definitely the problem, but even if this is the case, I can't find a way around it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this provides a bottleneck in my project.

    Thank you

can be used to update your sensor (s). This however leaves you with a version of the sensor out of sync to the version number for the CSM sensor.

  • installation of update of signature for JOINT-2 AIP - SSM

Hi every one, im not sure about this issue but I think its beter ask you experts.i want to know that if I update the signature for example for my JOINT-2 can I install this update of GIS on my AIP - SSM--> assume that software IPS on both devices are same and I also installed the license key valid on AIP - SSM.now can I do this or not? and I know that if you do not license installed on JOINT-2 you cannot install any point of GIS on JOINT-2 but this topic AIP - SSM? I want to say I can install updated GIS on AIP - SSM without installed the license key valid on AIP - SSM? Thank you

There are 3 main types of Signature updates.

    (1) IPS sensor Signature Update

    (2) updates of Signature CSM for IPS sensors

    (3) signing IOS IPS updates

The IPS Signature Update file name is in the form: IPS-GIS-Sxxx-req - Ey.pkg

That's probably what you are referrnig to in your message. This file can be installed on ANY device IDS/IPS or Module.

Here, the requirement is not the platform but rather the level of the engine. The part "req - Ey" in the file name indicates that the sensor has already run the 'y' the software engine level.

If a file IPS-GIS-S436-req - E3.pkg can be installed on any IDS/IPS device or Module as long as the software on this sensor is a version of the 'E3 '.

The CSM updates are updates of signature for the Cisco Security Manager. They contain special files that SCM uses to update, and then also included in the JLC update is the update of real sensor described above. CSM unpackages the CSM update, updates and then uses this file embedded to upgrade the actual sensor.

The third type of file is for routers IOS loaded with the special IOS software that has the distinction of IOS IPS where the router itself (instead of a separate module of the IDS/IPS) keeps track of the signature.

These updates to the signing IOS IPS settle on the real router and are not installed on the Modules or the sensor IDS/IPS devices.

So to answer your question, yes the same Signature Update for your JOINT-2 is the exact same Signature Update for your SSM modules.

The same exact file is available through several different paths on cisco.com. But no matter which way cisco.com you have downloaded the file, you can always install it on all the Modules and the IDS/IPS Appliances.

With respect to licensing, the license works the same on all Modules and the IDS/IPS Appliances. A license must be on the sensor for the Signature Update to apply.

NOTE: A trial license is available at cisco.com for new sensors to allow you to get everything set up properly for your sensor to be covered by a service contract and get the standard license for the service contract.

  • IPS-4240 Sig Update License

Is this not the right part. the update of the GIS 4240 IPS license?  CON-SUSA-IPS4240S

I can only find this part number in the ordering tool: CON-SUI-IPS4240, which also has a SMARTNet Support?

What is do we need just to have updates of GIS?

    Thank you

You cannot buy a stand-alone appliance IPS IPS subscription.

You can buy either of the following:

    (1) CON-SUI-IPS4240 for example which includes Smartnet for hardware, software, and the IPS subscription.

    OR /.

    (2) CON-SUSA-IPS4240 contracts are sold only to customers who have purchased a support hardware and software through a reseller/partner contract.

CON-SUSA... cannot be sold on its own, it must be sold in conjunction with the reseller/partner support contract.

    Hope that helps.

  • S49 signature update for 4.01 S37 IDS

    We ID 4210 and version 4.01 S37 and IDS - GIS - 4.0 - 2 - S46 updates, IDS - GIS - 4.0 - 2 - S47 are installed. Can I install S49 update to my ID?

S49 cannot be applied to sensors 4.1 (1) you must first switch to 4.1 (1) with the following package:

    IDs-K9-min-4.1-1-S47.rpm.pkg

Then, you can install the update of the Signature S49:

    ID - sig - 4.1 - 1 - S49.rpm.pkg

    Both are available at:

    http://www.Cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/ids4

The problem you're going to have, is that the 4.1 update package (1) requires that the memmory your ID-4210 is increased.

If you SmartNET contract on your ID-4210 while you can use Cisco product upgrade tool to order the upgrade of memmory without extra charge.

The 4.1 update (1) cannot be loaded on a 4210 IDS without the upgrade of memmory. If you cannot load S49 without upgrading memmory.

One of the main features of the creative cloud is the frequency of updates (typically three per year). If you fear constantly update, you will miss one of its key strengths. In my experience, Dreamweaver CC 2015.2 is very stable. It has several new features that improve the way it works. As a Subscriber, you can return to the previous versions, but it seems that you go back to DW CC 2015 rather than 2015.1.

If you are an amateur starting out with Dreamweaver, I suggest you to update to 2015.2, and then work through the tutorial of eight parties that begins to How to make a website in Dreamweaver, part 1, setting up a site. Adobe Dreamweaver tutorials CC. It will introduce you to many of the features of Dreamweaver, you need to know. Yes, I wrote it, so I breath my own trumpet, but I think you will find it useful.
