  Make sure you have the latest Service Pack for Windows Vista installed. Which edition of Windows Vista 64-bit you're running and what edition of Windows 7 you are trying to upgrade to?

  Click Start
  Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
  Click on "Run as Administrator"
  At the command prompt, type: sfc/scannow

  This will check for any breach of integrity

  Restart your system

  In addition, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it will scan your system and provide a report telling you if your PC can run Windows 7, and if there is no compatibility problems with your hardware or programs.

  I'm sorry I'm hogging this forum with a deluge of questions, but I may have found the problem.  The cables are the Staples store and they are probably not good. My mother has had this printer before I got it and I don't remember him having to replace the original cable. As a result, the printer lights. One end of the cable is a square that fits into the printer and the other end of it is a flat connector that does not anywhere on my computer. Should I go to Staples and get a cable better?   It is a USB cable from the printer.  Your computer "should" have a USB connector to fit.   Make and model of computer?

  When I try to install my new HP Photosmart C410 series, it gives me an error message: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {000C101C-0000-0000-C000-00000000006}.    I tried to install several times with the installation CD and the HP Web site.

  I contacted HP technical support, but they were not able to help me.  If this is not resolved, I will run the new printer to the store.

  Please provide the full error message.  Also, make sure that you typed correctly - are you sure that the CLSID does not stop with "46" rather than simply "6"?

  You can also follow the steps in the following article to clean things up and try again: One Article

  • Make sure that you install the printer by using a user account with "computer administrator" privileges (if you are not sure, click Start > Control Panel > accounts of users, under the name of each account will be "Computer administrator" or "Limited account").
  • Do not connect the printer to the computer until you are prompted to do so.

  Now, I can print from Gmail - or I can print from this forum, however in Publisher or Word, or a genealogy program I use, the Photosmart is not one of the available printers listed.

  When I go to Device Manager, I can right click on all the printers I have and see a long list of options, such as set as default printer.

  But on the Photosmart, I right click and only get 4 options; create a shortcut, troubleshoot, remove the device and properties.

  I downloaded new printer drivers and went through Assistant support, rebooted, unplugged and replugged etc.

  I can't understand this one!

  I would like to try the steps in this guide, "offline" Status Message printer (Windows 10).

  If the problem persists, you may encounter an IP address conflict. It's a good idea to assign the printer a static IP address outside your DHCP range. For example, some routers default DHCP is located between 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. So, I would use 192.168.0.232.

  • Print a Page of Network Configuration menu of the printer front panel. Note: the IPV4 IP.
  • Type the IP address in the browser to bring up the SAP.
  • Choose the network tab, then wireless on the left side, and then select the IPv4 tab.
  • Select Manual IP.
  • Enter your IP address manual (192.168.0.232)
  • Enter 255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask, except if it is different.
  • Enter the IP address of your router that sits on the Network Configuration Page) for the default gateway.
  • Please, click on manual DNS server. For the preferred DNS Server Manual please enter 8.8.8.8 and the Alternate DNS Server Manual, please enter 8.8.4.4.
  • Click on apply.

  Please restart the router, the printer and the computer in this sequence.

  If you're still having problems, please download and run the print and Scan doctor, it will be probably diagnose and fix the problem you are experiencing.

  What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

  I am trying to print from iPhoto, which Ive done hundreds of times and am on premium glossy inkjet photo paper (a new package, incidentally).  I have not changed the settings recently when printing.  Flash Info - just ran a report of print quality and also checked the settings.  Then I printed the same image that I had tried before, and it seems very well!  Have no idea why, but it looks like Im back in business!   I have just updated to Windows 7 to 10.  When I go to print an A4 document now doing at a reduced size that I have an additional border of space to the left and down.  The page is set to A4 of the printer is set for A4 and I tried printing and printing actual size to fit, but it makes no difference.   I deleted and reinstalled the printer so that it would probably use the most recent driver, but even when it makes no difference.

  Problem solved.

  First tried to download HP printer Installation Wizard, which is installed as a brother of generic but with HP Photosmart 7760 showing when you click above but it just printed pages of random characters.

  Then the printer found possedantes-advanced-new pilot and started to windows update and it evetually listed series printers so I clicked it and now it prints A4 OK again.

  Have had the above printer and computer wireless without any significant problems of printing until yesterday when I couldn't print liked anything from my computer. I disconnected the son / the power of my printer and router, waiting a few minutes and then reconnected the accounts.  Then I restarted my computer and retries impression with unsuccessful results. I then run the wireless network Test and the report does not show any problem.  Anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem.
